第二十一章

On the Bald.

论秃头的人

[1] When the Moon, placed in the angles, is in those degrees of the signs which are without hair, or the Moon is placed in Sagittarius, while the malefic planets are in either solid or tropical signs, in which the place of defects and health is partilely found, they will make men bald. This same thing, struck by the aspect of the malefic planets, [lacuna] And also if Venus, placed in her own house, partilely holds the Midheaven, she will make men bald. Saturn, however, placed between the Sun and the Moon, will cause them to be born gray-haired in their first period of life.

〔一〕当落在诸角的月亮在星座中那些无毛发的度数里，或者月亮落在射手，而凶星落在固定星座或回归星座，即精确地求得缺损与健康之宫所在的星座，它们会造就秃头的人。这同一件事受到凶星相位的打击〔此处原文有缺〕。又倘若落在自己庙里的金星精确到度地占住中天，她会造就秃头的人。但落在太阳与月亮之间的土星，会使人在人生的第一个时期就生来白发。

On Defects and Ailments of the Body.

论身体的缺损与疾患

[2] If Mars has been found in Cancer, or in Scorpio, or in Capricorn, or in Pisces, or in Taurus, and, placed in these signs, is situated in some angle of the nativity, and, so placed, aspects the Moon from a square or from opposition, or if it has been found with her, it will make men either hunchbacked, or twisted, or lame, or paralyzed in a part of the body.

〔二〕倘若火星落在巨蟹、天蝎、摩羯、双鱼或金牛，落在这些星座时又在本命的某个角，这样落定又从四分或对冲照着月亮，或者与她同在，会使人驼背、身体扭曲、跛足，或身体某一部分瘫痪。

[3] If Mars and Saturn are either in the 6th or in the 12th place from the Ascendant, or at least one of the two, and that sign is either double or tropical, or the place of Fortune is found partilely in that very sign, defects are decreed both for the body and for the mind, especially if they have aspected the Sun and the Moon by a square or an opposite aspect. But if Mars and Saturn, so placed, or placed in the angles, or in the 6th or in the 12th place from the Ascendant as we have said, have seen the Moon [lacuna] or placed synodically, they either cause defects from humors, or render men insane and epileptic.

〔三〕倘若火星与土星在从上升点起的第六宫或第十二宫，或至少两者之一在那里，而那个星座是双体或回归星座，或者福点精确地落在那个星座，就给身体与心智都判定缺损，尤其是倘若它们以四分或对冲照着太阳与月亮。但倘若这样落定，或落在诸角，或如我们所说在从上升点起的第六宫或第十二宫的火星与土星，看见〔此处原文有缺〕或在会合之中的月亮，它们或者由体液造成缺损，或者使人疯癫、患癫痫。

[4] But always, if the malefic planets have aspected the Moon, placed in the 7th or the 11th or the 6th or the 12th place from the Ascendant, by either a square or an opposite aspect, or if they have been found with her, they cause either contortions and spasms, or they twist the face in various ways, especially if the Ascendant and the place of Fortune have been placed in the signs of the malefic planets. But we find these defects according to the kinds of the signs. For to some this conjunction decrees sores of the mouth and epilepsies, to others insanities, to others leprosies, to others impetigo, to others dropsy, to others phthisis, to others elephantiasis.

〔四〕但总是，倘若凶星以四分或对冲照着落在从上升点起第七、第十一、第六或第十二宫的月亮，或者与她同在，它们会造成扭曲与痉挛，或使面容以种种方式扭曲，尤其是倘若上升点与福点落在凶星的星座。但我们按星座的种类求出这些缺损。因为这种会合给一些人判定口疮与癫痫，给另一些人疯癫，给另一些人麻风，给另一些人癣疮，给另一些人水肿，给另一些人肺痨，给另一些人象皮病。

[5] But if a benefic planet has aspected these, so arranged, with a favorable aspect, these defects are mitigated. But if there is no testimony of the benefic planets, and the malefic planets have aspected the place of the defect, placed in a solid sign, with a strong aspect, the decreed defects grow stronger. But if the benefics and malefics aspect this same place with equal powers, the defects both abate and increase alike.

〔五〕但倘若一颗吉星以顺遂的相位照着这样排列的它们，这些缺损就会减轻。但倘若没有吉星的见证，而凶星以强的相位照着落在固定星座的缺损之宫，判定的缺损会更加强烈。但倘若吉星与凶星以相等的力量照着这同一个位置，缺损就既减退又增长。

[6] But if, while a malefic planet is assailing, the testimonies of the benefic planets are stronger, and if the benefic planets receive the conjunction of the Moon, they are freed from these perils by certain deities. But if, while a benefic planet receives the conjunction of the Moon, the malefic planets aspect the place of the defects with a stronger aspect, the native will obtain a temporary respite from the defects by the protection of some deity.

〔六〕但倘若在一颗凶星攻击时，吉星的见证更强，又倘若吉星接受月亮的合相，他们会借某些神灵从这些危险中被释放。但倘若一颗吉星接受月亮的合相时，凶星以更强的相位照着缺损之宫，本人会借某位神灵的庇护得到缺损的暂时缓解。

[7] But if, while the benefic planets are stronger, Mercury has received the conjunction of the Moon as she comes to it, they are freed from these perils either by incantations, or by remedies, or by phylacteries. But if, while the benefic planets are stronger, Mars has joined itself to them by some aspect, the defect that has been decreed will be cured by medicine. If Saturn has been found in the 7th place from the Ascendant, and, placed in this place, has seen the Moon, placed in another angle, by any aspect, they will be cut by physicians in the hidden places.

〔七〕但倘若在吉星较强的时候，水星接受了前来的月亮的合相，他们会借咒语、药方或护身符从这些危险中被释放。但倘若在吉星较强的时候，火星以某种相位与它们相结，判定的缺损会由医药治愈。倘若土星落在从上升点起的第七宫，落在这个位置又以任何相位看见落在另一个角的月亮，他们会在隐秘的部位被医生动刀。

[8] But if the Moon is diminished in light, and Jupiter, removed from the angles, aspects the Moon by some aspect, they will perish after being cut by physicians. But if, with the Moon and Saturn arranged as we have said, Mars, joined with Mercury in a partile association and placed in tropical signs, is joined to the Moon and Saturn by any aspect, they will make men epileptic, insane, and falling-sick. But if, with these so arranged, Jupiter has aspected Mercury from a superior place and has received the conjunction of the Moon, they are freed by being cut for an abscess.

〔八〕但倘若月亮光亏，而离开诸角的木星以某种相位照着月亮，他们会在被医生动刀之后死去。但倘若月亮与土星如我们所说排列，而与水星精确地结伴相结、落在回归星座的火星，以任何相位与月亮和土星相结，它们会使人患癫痫、疯癫、患倒地之病。但倘若这些这样排列，而木星从居上的位置照着水星，又接受了月亮的合相，他们会因脓肿被切开而得解脱。

[9] But if Mars has been found in the 6th or in the 12th place from the Ascendant, and the Sun and Saturn aspect it so placed, they decree illnesses and defects with wretched calamity. But if Mars, so placed and situated in a masculine sign, has aspected the Sun and the Moon from a superior place by a square aspect, it will cause a grave defect in the genitals. But if it is the nativity of a woman, it always announces grave perils from miscarriage or from the delivery of childbirth, or, the infant being cut up within the womb and so brought forth, it will cause perpetual pains of the womb.

〔九〕但倘若火星落在从上升点起的第六宫或第十二宫，而太阳与土星照着这样落定的它，它们会以悲惨的灾祸判定疾病与缺损。但倘若这样落定又在阳性星座的火星，从居上的位置以四分照着太阳与月亮，会在生殖器上造成严重的缺损。但倘若是女人的本命盘，它总是预示流产或分娩带来的严重危险，或者胎儿在腹中被切开、如此取出，会造成子宫长久的疼痛。

[10] If Jupiter has been found in the Ascendant, and Mars, placed in opposition to it, aspects the Sun and the Moon by any aspect, it will make men either insane or lunatic. And also if the Moon, synodic or full and placed in the angles, has aspected Mars by a square aspect, and Saturn is joined to her through a square or through opposition, the same defects are decreed.

〔十〕倘若木星落在上升点，而落在它对冲位置的火星以任何相位照着太阳与月亮，会使人疯癫或患月狂病。又倘若在会合中或满月而落在诸角的月亮以四分照着火星，而土星从四分或对冲与她相结，也判定同样的缺损。

On Royal Nativities.

论帝王的本命

[1] If the Sun and the Moon, placed in masculine signs, are situated in the first angles, with the benefic planets so placed that, in a day nativity, set in morning rising, they protect the Sun, but in a night nativity, set in evening rising, they protect the Moon, they will make kings, terrible and powerful, subjugating regions or very great cities. But if they have been placed in the Midheaven as we have said, they will subjugate even foreign nations and outside regions by a boundless power of strength.

〔一〕倘若落在阳性星座的太阳与月亮落在首要的诸角，而吉星这样落定，以致在白天的本命盘里它们在晨升之中护卫太阳，在夜间的本命盘里在昏升之中护卫月亮，它们会造就国王，可畏而有权势，征服地域或极大的城邦。但倘若它们如我们所说落在中天，他们会以无边的力量之权征服甚至外邦的民族与外面的地域。

[2] But if, with these arranged as we have said, Mars has been found in their succedent, while Saturn is placed in another angle, they will be cast down from their rule and subjugated by others. But if Jupiter, having become superior, has aspected Mars and Saturn with a favorable aspect, and has received the light of the waxing Moon, after captivity they will be restored to their rule again, so that afterwards a greater heap both of happiness and of rank comes to them.

〔二〕但倘若这些如我们所说排列，而火星落在它们的续宫，土星落在另一个角，他们会被逐出自己的统治，被别人征服。但倘若居于上位的木星以顺遂的相位照着火星与土星，又接受了渐盈的月亮的光，他们在被俘之后会再被恢复统治，以致后来有更大的一堆幸福与品级来到他们身上。

[3] If the Sun has been found partilely in the Midheaven or in the Ascendant, and is in a masculine sign, while the Moon has been found in the succedent of the Sun, and the benefic planets have protected the Sun in morning rising, kings will be born in like manner. But if, with these so arranged, Mars has been found in the Midheaven and Jupiter in the lower Midheaven, they will be dangerous, terrible, effective, possessing dominion over the whole world.

〔三〕倘若太阳精确到度地落在中天或上升点，又在阳性星座，而月亮落在太阳的续宫，吉星又在晨升之中护卫太阳，同样会生下国王。但倘若这些这样排列，而火星落在中天、木星在天底，他们会是危险的、可畏的、有成效的，拥有对整个世界的统治。

[4] If the Sun, placed in the principal places of the nativity, has been found in a masculine sign, and the Moon, placed in the principal places of the nativity, has occupied a feminine sign, or at least one of them, placed as we have said, has been found in the first angles, they make men famous, noble, and powerful, and men to whom the protection of cities is entrusted. But if, with these so arranged, the testimony of Jupiter is added, an army is committed to him by the judgment of the emperor.

〔四〕倘若落在本命主要位置的太阳在阳性星座，而落在本命主要位置的月亮占住阴性星座，或至少其中一颗如我们所说落在首要的诸角，它们会造就有名、高贵、有权势的人，以及被托付保卫城邦的人。但倘若这些这样排列，又加上木星的见证，就由皇帝的裁断把一支军队交给他。
