第三十三章

[1] We have begun, Mavortius, to make known to you all the secrets of mathesis with the most truthful pronouncements of definitions, but the seventh book shows you the fullest treatment of all these things, so that you may be able to find everything without any difficulty by the easiest and truest inquiries. But to complete this book this will be added: that I show you, when a planet has been the lady of the times and has divided the whole substance of the 10 years and 9 months between itself and the other planets, what it decrees and on what principle. How the lord of the times, whom the Greeks call the chronocrator, is found, we showed by a clear method in the book of instruction; inquire into this matter carefully, so that you may be able to find the orders and outcomes of the dangers.

[2] If Saturn has become lord of the times, it claims for itself 30 months out of the whole time, as we said in the book of instruction. Look, then, how it is placed in the nativity, and whether it is a day nativity or a night one, and whether it holds the angles of the nativity, and what it decrees from the nature of the sign or from the power of the place. When you have gathered all these things with careful reasoning, then you will find what it does when it is lord of the times.

〔二〕倘若土星成了时主，它就如我们在「教导之书」里所说，从整个时期中为自己索取三十个月。所以要看它在本命盘里怎样落定，是白天的本命盘还是夜间的，它是否占住本命的角，它从星座的本性或宫位的力量判定什么。当你用细心的推理汇集了这一切，你就会找出它做时主时做什么。

[3] For if dangers have been decreed by it in the nativity, then it carries out whatever it had decreed before. If it decrees childlessness in the nativity, then it pursues the wretched offspring of children with cruel power. If it has decreed widowhood, then it breaks up the marriage either by death or by dissension. If it has decreed accusations, then it stirs up crowds of enemies. If it has decreed illnesses, then it inflicts the defect of wretched calamity. If it has decreed losses, then it will shake the patrimony with various mutilations. But if it is well placed and decrees something favorable in the nativity, following the power of its own condition, then it renders whatever it had promised before, especially if it has the lord of the nativity well placed, and it is a day nativity.

〔三〕因为倘若在本命盘里由它判定了危险，那时它就执行它先前所判定的一切。倘若它在本命盘里判定无子，那时它就以残酷的力量追逼可怜的子女后代。倘若它判定了守寡，那时它就以死亡或不和拆散婚姻。倘若它判定了控告，那时它就激起成群的仇敌。倘若它判定了疾病，那时它就加上悲惨灾祸的缺损。倘若它判定了损失，那时它就以种种削减动摇家产。但倘若它落位良好，依循自己状况的力量在本命盘里判定某种顺遂的事，那时它就兑现它先前所应许的一切，尤其是倘若它有落位良好的本命主星，而这是白天的本命盘。

[4] If Saturn has become lord of the times, it assigns 12 months of its time to Jupiter. If, then, Saturn is badly placed in the nativity, and through it either danger or illness or loss or misfortune has been decreed, then all the threats of dangers are mitigated by the powers of the saving god. But if, well placed in the nativity, it has decreed times to Jupiter, it bestows increases of the greatest felicity, especially if it is a day nativity, and, placed in good signs or in good degrees, it is joined to Jupiter by a trine aspect.

[5] If Saturn, having become lord of the times, has assigned times to Mars, it assigns indeed 15 months out of its decennium. But when Mars has received the time assigned to it by Saturn, all malice lulled to sleep, it decrees the joy of a glad time; for they mitigate one another from their contrary powers.

〔五〕倘若土星成了时主而把时期分给火星，它从它的十年期中分给十五个月。当火星接受了土星分给它的时期，一切恶意都被催眠，它就判定欢乐时期的喜乐；因为它们以相反的力量彼此缓和。

[6] If Saturn has become lord of the times, it assigns 19 months out of its decennium to the Sun. When, then, the Sun has received the time assigned to it by Saturn, it stirs up lawsuits and contentious struggles of quarrels. But these lawsuits are brought for the most part over the ownership of houses or of foundations, especially if it is a night nativity. But it also decrees danger for the father and causes the loss of rank.

[7] If Saturn has become lord of the times, it assigns 8 months out of its decennium to Venus. When, then, Venus has received the time assigned to it by Saturn, it will make a pleasant time, separated from every misfortune, so that the peril of a preceding misfortune, which the malice of another planet had brought about, is corrected by a saving remedy. But if it has itself decreed a marriage, then a widow is joined as wife by the marriage bond.

[8] If Saturn has become lord of the times, it assigns 20 months out of its decennium to Mercury. When, then, Mercury has received the time assigned to it by Saturn, it rouses the slumbering enmities of old lawsuits, and will cause hidden quarrels of contention to be brought again in revived actions.

[9] If Saturn has become lord of the times, it assigns 25 months out of its decennium to the Moon. When, then, the Moon has received the time assigned to it by Saturn, it will stir up illnesses from vicious humors, or it inflicts the greatest peril of danger from water, or it will cause the native to be troubled by the summons of new lawsuits, so that this whole time always shows various dangers and various anxieties. But this if the Moon is full in light; if it is diminished and struck in the nativity by the aspect of Saturn, it decrees the hardships of death together with wretched calamities.

JUPITER.

木星

[1] When the order of the times has come to Jupiter, 10 years and 9 months are also conveyed to it. But this whole time too is divided by it on a like principle. It too, then, when it is lord, must be examined: how it is placed in the nativity, in which signs and in which degrees it is placed, whether it is placed in the first or in the second angles, whether in the second places of the nativity or in the idle and cast-down ones, and whether it is a day nativity or a night one.

〔一〕当时期的次序来到木星，十年又九个月也传给它。但这整个时期也由它以相似的道理分配。所以它做主的时候也必须考察：它在本命盘里怎样落定，落在哪些星座、哪些度数，是落在第一等的角还是第二等的角，是在本命的第二等宫位还是在闲置而低陷的宫位，是白天的本命盘还是夜间的。

[2] For from all these, when it is lord of the times, we find the efficacy of its decrees. For whatever has been decreed by Jupiter in the nativity, it renders when it has obtained the lordship of the times. But you will have to observe this in all the other planets as well. For whatever we have said of Saturn and of Jupiter, you must gather on a like principle in the other planets also. For all the planets, whatever they have decreed in the nativity, whether favorable or evil, will carry it out when they have obtained the lordship of the times.

[3] When 10 years and 9 months have been conveyed to Jupiter, it first claims for itself 12 months out of this whole time. In these 12 months, then, which Jupiter has assigned to itself, it decrees felicities, glory, and joys according to the measure of the nativity, especially if it is itself the lord of the nativity. Then, for whatever nativity marriage or children have been decreed, if the time of life has allowed it, it will also accomplish these in the greatest measure when it is lord of the times; it also bestows glories and honors and increases of patrimony, as we have said, according to the measure of the nativity.

〔三〕当十年又九个月传给木星时，它首先从这整个时期中为自己索取十二个月。所以在木星分给自己的这十二个月里，它按本命的分量判定幸福、荣耀与喜乐，尤其是倘若它本身就是本命主星。其次，凡本命盘里判定了婚姻或子女的，倘若人生的时间允许，它在做时主时也会以最大的分量完成这些；它还如我们所说，按本命的分量赐予荣耀、荣誉与家产的增长。

[4] If Jupiter has become lord of the times, it assigns 30 months out of its decennium to Saturn. When, then, Saturn has received the time assigned to it by Jupiter, it will always make men dulled by a sluggish way of life, so that in all their activities they fail through the sluggish torpor of cold; but this if it is a night nativity, and if Saturn is not well placed in the nativity.

[5] If Jupiter has become lord of the times, it assigns 15 months out of its decennium to Mars. When, then, Mars has received the time assigned to it by Jupiter, it changes the whole order of life and of business, and whatever is handled by the preceding arrangement of business will be transferred to the order of another life, so that in this time the institutions of the former office are abandoned; or else it will do harm through various perils.

〔五〕倘若木星成了时主，它从它的十年期中分给火星十五个月。所以，当火星接受了木星分给它的时期，它改变生活与事务的整个次序，凡由先前的事务安排所处理的，都会被转到另一种生活的次序，以致在这段时期里先前职务的制度被放弃；否则它就以种种危险加害。

[6] If Jupiter has become lord of the times, it assigns 19 months out of its decennium to the Sun. When, then, the Sun has received the time assigned to it by Jupiter, it will cause all the secrets of life to be made public, and it overturns all activities in various ways, and leads the mind through different kinds of anxieties with various thoughts. It also scatters whatever had been arranged before, so that, everything being disturbed and confused, the mind is divided among different kinds of anxieties; but these things are diminished in a day nativity, in a night one, on the other hand, [probably: increased] [lacuna]

[7] If Jupiter has become lord of the times, it assigns 8 months out of its decennium to Venus. When, then, Venus has received the time assigned to it by Jupiter, in a night nativity, if it is lady of the nativity, or if Jupiter is lord, it makes marriages and decrees favorable times, and also the advantages of felicity. But in a day nativity it imposes moderate but constant allurements of love, especially if the nature of the place or of the sign has stirred Venus.

〔七〕倘若木星成了时主，它从它的十年期中分给金星八个月。所以，当金星接受了木星分给它的时期，在夜间的本命盘里，倘若它是本命的女主，或倘若木星是主星，它就促成婚姻，判定顺遂的时期，还有幸福的好处。但在白天的本命盘里，它加上中等而持续的情爱诱惑，尤其是倘若宫位或星座的本性激动了金星。

[8] If Jupiter has become lord of the times, it assigns 20 months out of its decennium to Mercury. When, then, Mercury has received the time assigned to it by Jupiter, it decrees activities from which the greatest advantages of profit are conferred, and bestows the support of very many great friendships, and assigns increases of favorable promotion in all offices, so that from all accounts and from all activities favorable advantages both of profit and of felicity are conferred.

〔八〕倘若木星成了时主，它从它的十年期中分给水星二十个月。所以，当水星接受了木星分给它的时期，它就判定能带来最大赢利好处的活动，赐予许多大友谊的依靠，在一切职务上给予顺遂升迁的增长，以致从一切账目、一切活动中都得到赢利与幸福的顺遂好处。

[9] If Jupiter has become lord of the times, it assigns 25 months out of its decennium to the Moon. When, then, the Moon has received the time assigned to it by Jupiter, it decrees the quiet of tranquil serenity and the greatest increases of felicity, according, that is, to the substance of the nativity. For then the pain of preceding misfortunes is mitigated by various kinds of consolations, then the straits of want are relaxed, then health checks the defects of illness, then the fears of dangers are suppressed by favorable protections, then in all contests and lawsuits sentences will be pronounced in their favor, then pain is broken, then anxiety is changed, so that, the squalor of preceding misfortunes wiped away, a pure and clean time of felicity arrives, especially if Jupiter aspects the Moon, full in light in the nativity, with a favorable aspect.
