[1] If Jupiter and Venus, placed together in a sign of Saturn, have occupied the same degrees, and Saturn is in the neighboring sign, that is, has been found in the second, so that it is the first to receive the conjunction of the oncoming Venus; and Mars, aspecting the Moon, is joined to Venus by any aspect whatever, while Saturn likewise aspects the Moon; and the Sun is in the Midheaven, the Moon and the Ascendant being placed in Cancer, then, through an incestuous ardor of frenzy and raised up by the protection of some power, they obtain marriage with their own mothers; or, possessed by a perverse ardor of mind [lacuna] desire, they invite their stepmothers to the partnership of the marriage bed. But if this is a woman's nativity, this same woman will be joined in marriage either to her father or to her stepfather.

The records of ancient readings report that OEDIPUS had such a nativity. For the Ascendant was in Cancer, the Sun in Aries, Saturn in Pisces, Jupiter and Venus in Aquarius, Mars in Libra, the Moon in the cloud of Cancer, and Mercury with the Sun.

古代读物的记载说，俄狄浦斯有这样的本命盘。因为上升点在巨蟹，太阳在白羊，土星在双鱼，木星与金星在水瓶，火星在天秤，月亮在巨蟹之云，水星与太阳同在。

[2] If the Moon has been found in the terms of Mercury and has received a star of the masculine kind, especially if it has been found in Aquarius, and Venus is not joined to Jupiter by a trine aspect, those who have these planets so never obtain children.

〔二〕倘若月亮被发现在水星的界里，接受了一颗阳性的星，尤其是倘若它被发现在水瓶，而金星又不以三分相与木星相结，这样拥有这些星的人永远得不到子女。

[3] If the Moon has been found in the Ascendant in the equinoctial signs, that is, in Aries or Libra, while Jupiter and Mars, joined in partile association, have been placed in the Midheaven or in the Descendant, and Venus and Saturn, placed together in Capricorn or Aquarius and occupying the same number of degrees, aspect Mars and Jupiter by any aspect whatever, they will make men sterile, effeminate, and castrated galli, serving in the ceremonies of religious cults.

〔三〕倘若月亮被发现在上升点、在分点星座即白羊或天秤里，而以精确结伴相结的木星与火星落在中天或下降点，金星与土星一同落在摩羯或水瓶、占着同样的度数，以任何相位照着火星与木星，它们就会使人不育、柔弱，成为被阉割的加利祭司，侍奉宗教的仪礼。

[4] If Saturn and Mars, joined in an equal association of degree, have been placed together in a house of Venus, occupying the Descendant or the lower Midheaven, and Venus, placed in opposition to them in a house of Mars, is set against Saturn and Mars by an equal reckoning of degree, this arrangement of the planets shows us the nativity of a eunuch.

〔四〕倘若土星与火星以同等的度数结伴相结，一同落在金星的庙里，占住下降点或天底，而落在对冲上、在火星之庙里的金星，以同等的度数计算与土星和火星相对，这种行星的排列就向我们显示阉人的本命。

[5] If Mars and the Moon are set against each other by an opposite aspect, and both, placed in opposition, take up the same degrees, while Venus has been placed in their right square, and Saturn, aspecting Venus from opposition, has struck the Moon and Mars through the left square, so that it aspects Venus from opposition and the Moon and Mars from a square, and Mercury has occupied the Midheaven, from this mixture of planets there are born either sterile persons, or hermaphrodites, or at least eunuchs.

〔五〕倘若火星与月亮以对冲的相位彼此相对，两者在对冲上占着同样的度数，而金星落在它们的右四分，土星从对冲照着金星，又通过左四分打击月亮与火星，以致它从对冲照着金星、从四分照着月亮与火星，而水星占住中天，从这种行星的混合中，生出的或是不育之人，或是两性之人，或至少是阉人。

[6] If Saturn and Venus, placed together in a sign or in the terms of Venus, have occupied the degree of the Midheaven, and Mars has been made foreign to them, this conjunction decrees a wife either poor or of advanced age. But if Jupiter aspects Saturn and Venus so placed by a trine aspect, or has been found with them, from this testimony of Jupiter a widow is indeed decreed as wife, but one abundant in an overflow of riches.

〔六〕倘若土星与金星一同落在金星的星座或界里，占住中天的度数，而火星与它们无关，这一相结就判定贫穷的或年长的妻子。但倘若木星以三分相照着这样落定的土星与金星，或与它们同在，从木星的这一见证就判定一位寡妇为妻，但她富有满溢的财富。

[7] If Venus has been found together with Jupiter in the Midheaven, this association decrees a wife known through adultery. But if, with these placed together, the star of Mercury has come to this same partnership of degree, she too will leave the husband whom she obtained through the intervention of adultery and pass again to marriage with another husband; and she will do this either captivated by the love of a young man, or following the bed of some poor man, or longing with a ready desire of mind for the lowliness of an ignoble union, so that in every way, through the allurements of depraved love, she obtains partnership with a man of lower station.

〔七〕倘若金星与木星一同被发现在中天，这一结伴判定一位因通奸而出名的妻子。但倘若它们一同落定时，水星之星也来到这同一度的伙伴关系，她也会离开她借通奸介入而得到的丈夫，再转嫁另一个丈夫；她这样做，或是被一个年轻人的爱所俘获，或是追随某个穷人的床，或是以心中易动的欲望渴求不体面结合的卑下，以致无论如何，借邪恶之爱的诱惑，她得到与地位较低之人的伙伴关系。

[8] If the Moon has been found partilely in the Midheaven, and the Sun has been placed partilely in the Ascendant, while Jupiter, placed partilely in the succedent of the Ascendant, is joined to the Moon by a trine aspect, from this conjunction the bright insignia of nobility are decreed.

〔八〕倘若月亮精确到度地被发现在中天，太阳精确到度地落在上升点，而精确落在上升点续宫的木星以三分相与月亮相结，从这一相结中就判定高贵的明亮徽章。

[9] If Jupiter aspects Venus placed in the Midheaven by a trine aspect, or has been found with it, and Venus has been separated from all the aspects of the malefic planets, from this conjunction the greatest insignia of good fortune are conferred through the protection of women, or they take the beginning of their good fortune from some womanly work. It also makes these same men sweetly modulate the measures of musical song, or strike the cithara and the lyre, or at least dance with pleasing grace by a soft bending of the body.

〔九〕倘若木星以三分相照着落在中天的金星，或与它同在，而金星与凶星的一切相位隔开，从这一相结中，就借女人的护佑授予好运的最大徽章，或者他们从某种女人的工作开始他们的好运。它还使这些人甜美地调节音乐歌曲的节律，或弹奏基塔拉琴与里拉琴，或至少以身体柔软的弯曲优雅地跳舞。

[10] Jupiter placed partilely in the Midheaven always drives men, through a wretched zeal of lust, to unions with sordid women. But if Mars has been found with it, itself occupying the same degree, another man will violently carry off the native's wife. But if the star of Venus has come to these, a woman drawn out of a brothel is joined to illustrious men in conjugal grace. But if the Sun has come to all of these in square, they are joined with an unspeakable desire to the concubines of their fathers or to their stepmothers, and they take their fathers' wives, drawn away from them, in the association of marriage. But when the nuptials have been accomplished through depraved desire, the marriage, which had been joined under ill-omened auspices, is dissolved by the intervening flight of the woman.

〔十〕精确落在中天的木星，总以情欲的悲惨热忱驱使人与卑贱的女人结合。但倘若火星被发现与它同在，也占着同一度，另一个男人会以暴力夺走本命之人的妻子。但倘若金星之星来到它们，一个从妓院里拉出来的女人以婚姻的情分与显赫的男人相结。但倘若太阳以四分来到这一切，他们就以不可言说的欲望与父亲的妾或继母相结，把从父亲那里夺来的父亲的妻子娶进婚姻的结伴。但当婚礼以邪恶的欲望完成之后，那在不祥兆头下结成的婚姻，就因女人的出走而解散。

[11] If Mars has been found with the Moon in the Midheaven, and Jupiter has been placed partilely in the Ascendant, while the Sun has been placed in the Descendant, aspecting Jupiter from opposition and Mars and the Moon by a square aspect, this conjunction decrees a marriage accompanied by the ruinous clash of conflict. Then the threatening sword of the contenders inflicts grave wounds, then a grave fight is stirred up in contests of savage ardor, then famous contests of battles are roused by the desires of savage ardor; then, amid the groans of the falling and the din of the fighters, the marriage once contracted is bloodied by a bitter outpouring of blood.

〔十一〕倘若火星与月亮一同被发现在中天，木星精确到度地落在上升点，而太阳落在下降点，从对冲照着木星，又以四分相照着火星与月亮，这一相结就判定伴随着毁灭性冲突碰撞的婚姻。那时，争斗者带威胁的剑造成重伤，那时在野蛮热度的争斗中激起沉重的厮杀，那时因野蛮热度的欲望而激起著名的战斗之争；那时，在倒下者的呻吟与战斗者的喧嚣之中，一度缔结的婚姻被苦涩的血流所染红。

[12] PARIS ALEXANDER is said to have had such a decree, from whose marriage came the famous contests of battles and the storied destruction of his homeland. The whole decree of Paris Alexander had been composed in this manner: the Ascendant had been in Aquarius, the Sun in Leo, the Moon in Scorpio, Saturn in Leo, Jupiter in Aquarius, Mars in Scorpio, Venus and Mercury in Gemini.

〔十二〕据说帕里斯·亚历山大就有这样的判定，从他的婚姻引来了著名的战斗之争与传说中故乡的毁灭。帕里斯·亚历山大的整个判定是这样构成的：上升点在水瓶，太阳在狮子，月亮在天蝎，土星在狮子，木星在水瓶，火星在天蝎，金星与水星在双子。

[13] If Saturn and Mars have been placed partilely in the Midheaven, or, placed in the other angles, aspect this same place by a square or an opposite aspect, and the saving protection of Jupiter and Venus has not softened their malice, this conjunction will make toiling paupers, crushed by the wretched burden of poverty and shaken by an unbroken succession of daily toil, so that the wretched means of life are sought by the daily toils of the body. But if Mars has aspected this same place from opposition, with Saturn placed in the Midheaven or in the lower Midheaven or at least in the Ascendant, and all are bereft of the divine testimony of Jupiter, then, together with the aforesaid evils, custody in the public prison and the iron bonds of chains are decreed. But if, with these so placed, Jupiter has aspected the Moon full of light with a gentle aspect, they are set free after many toils and after many dangers.

〔十三〕倘若土星与火星精确到度地落在中天，或落在其他的角里，以四分或对冲照着这同一个宫位，而木星与金星救护的庇佑没有缓和它们的恶意，这一相结就会造就劳苦的穷人，被贫穷的悲惨重担压垮，被每日劳苦的不断接续所震撼，以致要靠身体每日的劳苦去求取悲惨的生计。但倘若土星落在中天、或天底、或至少在上升点，而火星从对冲照着这同一个宫位，一切又都失去木星神圣的见证，那么在前面所说的恶事之外，还判定关在公家监狱里与铁链的束缚。但倘若它们这样落定时，木星以温和的相位照着光满的月亮，他们在许多劳苦与许多危险之后会被释放。

[14] If Mars has been found partilely in the Midheaven, and the star of Saturn, placed nearby, occupies the second sign from it, this conjunction will make toiling paupers who seek their living by their hands. A gloomy countenance also always clouds their face. And if Mars, placed in the Midheaven, aspects [lacuna] in an equal degree, and Saturn is placed in the second sign from the Midheaven as we said before, greater burdens of unhappiness are decreed, and a heap of greater misfortunes comes upon them. And those who have them so never obtain what they desire.

〔十四〕倘若火星精确到度地被发现在中天，而土星之星落在近旁，占住从它数起的第二个星座，这一相结会造就劳苦的穷人，靠双手谋生。阴沉的神色也总笼罩他们的脸。倘若落在中天的火星以同等的度数照着〔此处原文有缺〕，而土星像我们前面所说的那样落在中天的第二个星座，就判定更大的不幸重担，更大的不幸之堆积降临到他们身上。这样拥有它们的人，永远得不到所想望的。

[15] If the Moon has been found in the lips of Aries or in Capricorn, or has likewise occupied the lips of Taurus, it will make women viragos, but it always drives men to all the vices of lust, so that, roused by the wretched goad of lust, they conceive the wish for impure and unchaste intercourse. But if the Moon has been placed in those degrees of the signs which we have mentioned, and Mercury and Mars, placed with the Moon, have occupied these same degrees in the same manner, and the Moon is flowing away from the star of Mars, then in whatever degree of the sign the Moon has been found, from that degree the vice of lust is found. But if Jupiter aspects them so placed by a trine aspect, or has been found with them, the wickedness of the aforesaid vices is covered and softened.

〔十五〕倘若月亮被发现在白羊之唇或在摩羯，或同样占住金牛之唇，它会使女人成为女丈夫，却总把男人驱向情欲的一切恶习，以致被情欲悲惨的刺棒所激，他们怀着不洁不贞之交合的愿望。但倘若月亮落在我们所说那些星座的度数上，而与月亮同在的水星与火星也以同样方式占住这些度数，月亮又正从火星之星离去，那么月亮在星座的哪一度被发现，情欲之恶就从那一度找出。但倘若木星以三分相照着这样落定的它们，或与它们同在，前面所说恶习的邪恶就被遮掩而缓和。

[16] But if, without the testimony of Jupiter, Venus has been found with them, every vice of unchaste impurity is brought about. Then men, by a voluntary ardor of frenzy, submit to being used as women; then they carry out impure misdeeds through the ardor of vicious lust. But if this is a woman's nativity, it will make her a harlot of prostituted modesty, one who hands over her body to the depraved desires of lusts, surrendering her modesty to the power of a pander for the sake of a daily wage; and she will be a prostitute in the public brothels, even if she appears to have been born of upright stock.

〔十六〕但倘若没有木星的见证，金星被发现与它们同在，就造成不贞不洁的一切恶习。那时男人以自愿的狂乱热度甘受如女人般的对待；那时他们以恶习情欲的热度行不洁的恶事。但倘若这是女人的本命盘，它会使她成为出卖羞耻的娼妓，把身体交给情欲的邪恶欲望，为了每日的工钱把羞耻交给皮条客支配；即使她看起来出身正派，她也会在公开的妓院里卖身。

[17] If the Sun, the Moon, and the Ascendant have been placed in the nativity in such a way that none of them is joined to the others by any principle, so that the Sun does not see the Ascendant, and the Moon in turn likewise aspects neither the Sun nor the Ascendant, and they are not joined in any association of degrees, then the natives are worn down by so great a burden of poverty that those who have them so, weighed down by the varied burden of unhappiness, come to the utmost ruin of beggary.

〔十七〕倘若太阳、月亮与上升点在本命盘里这样落定，以致它们彼此之间没有任何一种相结，太阳看不见上升点，月亮也同样既不照太阳、也不照上升点，它们也不以任何度数的结伴相结，那么本命之人就被如此沉重的贫穷重担所磨损，以致这样拥有它们的人，被种种不幸的重担所压，落到乞讨的极度毁灭。

[18] If the Sun and the Moon have occupied signs of the feminine kind, and the Ascendant has been found in a feminine sign, and Mercury is placed partilely in the Ascendant, they are compelled to cut off their genitals with their own hands.

〔十八〕倘若太阳与月亮占住阴性的星座，上升点也被发现在阴性星座，而水星精确到度地落在上升点，他们就被迫亲手割掉自己的生殖器。

[19] If the Sun and the Moon have been placed partilely in the Ascendant, or one precedes the Ascendant and the other follows it, provided, however, that this happens in the sign of the Ascendant, and Mars is placed in the succedent of the Ascendant, and Saturn is joined to Mars by some aspect of testimony, the wretched burden of blindness is laid upon the eyes.

〔十九〕倘若太阳与月亮精确到度地落在上升点，或一颗在上升点之前、另一颗在其后，但这须发生在上升星座之内，而火星落在上升点的续宫，土星又以某种见证的相位与火星相结，失明的悲惨重担就加到眼睛上。

[20] If the Moon has been found in the Midheaven, and Venus, placed in the lower Midheaven, aspects the Moon by a partile aspect, this conjunction, through the ardor of incestuous desire, will join sisters to their brothers as wives.

〔二十〕倘若月亮被发现在中天，而落在天底的金星以精确到度的相位照着月亮，这一相结就以乱伦欲望的热度，使姐妹嫁给兄弟为妻。

[21] If Venus has been placed in the right square of the Moon, it will make men ready for every office of business, who win for themselves the protection of many friendships, whom their wives always love with faithful affection; and it makes them joined to all their friends by amiable affection. But these things will grow stronger if Jupiter aspects one of the two by a trine aspect.

〔二十一〕倘若金星落在月亮的右四分，它会使人准备好担任事务的每一种职务，为自己赢得许多友谊的护佑，妻子总以忠实的情意爱着他们；它还使他们以亲切的情意与所有朋友相结。但倘若木星以三分相照着两者之一，这些就更强。

[22] If the Ascendant has been found in the sign of Virgo, and Mars, Mercury, and Venus have been placed partilely in that same Ascendant, while Jupiter, placed in the Descendant, has occupied the sign of Pisces and is joined by a partile aspect to those that are in the Ascendant, and the Sun is placed in the succedent of the Ascendant, that is, in Libra, and the Moon, placed in Capricorn, occupies the fifth place from the Ascendant, while Saturn, placed in the ninth place from the Ascendant, holds the sign of Taurus, the one who has all these so will be such an orator that the judgments of his speeches are brought forth like thunderbolts, so that at his will the minds of the multitude are either roused when at rest or easily soothed when inflamed.

〔二十二〕倘若上升点被发现在处女座，火星、水星与金星精确到度地落在同一个上升点，而落在下降点的木星占住双鱼座，以精确到度的相位与在上升点的诸星相结；太阳落在上升点的续宫即天秤，月亮落在摩羯，占住从上升点起的第五宫，而落在从上升点起的第九宫的土星据有金牛座，那么这样拥有这一切的人会成为这样的演说家：他言论的判断像霹雳一样发出，以致随他的意愿，群众的心静时被激起，燃起时又被轻易平息。

His speeches will also be such that posterity learns them with eager zeal for the increase and nourishment of its own talent. Such an orator pursued Philip of Macedon not by the force of arms but by the license of speech; and to explain it more plainly: this nativity inspired the divine genius of DEMOSTHENES.

[23] If Mars, Mercury, and Venus have been placed together in Sagittarius in the terms of Venus, and the Ascendant has occupied the term of that same degree, while Jupiter, placed in Gemini, aspects all of these from the Descendant by an opposite aspect and is joined to them in an association of equal degrees; and the Sun is in the sign of Capricorn, and the Moon, placed in the fifth place from the Ascendant, holds the sign of Aries, so as to be in the head of Aries (for in these degrees it makes men blind); while Saturn is placed in the ninth place from the Ascendant, that is, placed in Leo, this nativity makes a divine poet of some heroic song, so that he writes out the din of Mars and the fearful contests of battles with the nobility of a famous song. Such a nativity made HOMER the divine interpreter of the Iliadic song.

[24] If the Ascendant has been found in Aquarius, and Mars, Mercury, and Venus have been placed partilely in the degree of the Ascendant, while Jupiter, placed in the Descendant, holds the sign of Leo, and the Sun, placed in the succedent of the Ascendant, holds the sign of Pisces, and the Moon, placed in Gemini and set in the fifth place of the nativity, aspects the Ascendant by a trine aspect, and Saturn, holding the ninth place from the Ascendant, is placed in the sign of Libra, this nativity renders an interpreter of divine and heavenly teachings, who, composed with teachable speech and the power of a divine intellect, and formed in a way by heavenly instruction, approaches all the secrets of divinity with the true license of disputation. This nativity is said to have been that of PLATO.

[25] If the Ascendant has been found in Libra, and Mars, Venus, and Mercury have been placed partilely in that same Ascendant, while Jupiter, placed in the Descendant, that is, placed in the sign of Aries, aspects Mars, Venus, Mercury, and the Ascendant by an opposite aspect, and the Sun, placed in Scorpio, is set in the succedent of the Ascendant, and the Moon also, placed in Aquarius, holds the fifth place from the Ascendant, while Saturn, placed in the ninth place from the Ascendant, is placed in Gemini, this nativity renders a divine poet of lyric song, who composes choral songs in free rhythm with the austere measure of religious song. Such a nativity bestowed on PINDAR and ARCHILOCHUS, by the divine inspiration of genius, the measures of the sweetest song.

[26] If the Ascendant has been found in Aries, namely in the terms of Jupiter, and Mars, Venus, and Mercury have been placed partilely in that same Ascendant, and Jupiter, placed in Libra, that is, in the Descendant, aspects the Ascendant by an opposite aspect, while the Sun, placed in the succedent of the Ascendant, occupies the sign of Taurus, and the Moon, placed in the fifth place from the Ascendant, holds the sign of Leo, while Saturn, placed in the ninth place from the Ascendant, has the sign of Sagittarius, this nativity makes a divine inventor of the mechanical art. This is our famous man, whose sphere, fashioned by his genius, showed the revolution of the heavens and the courses of all the stars in a model of divine imitation. This is ARCHIMEDES of Syracuse, my fellow citizen, who often laid low Roman armies by his mechanical arts. Marcellus, set in the triumph of his victory, placed amid the exultant din of the soldiers and the triumphal laurels, wept for him with mournful grief.
