On the Nativities of Slaves.

论奴隶的本命盘

[1] If the Moon and Jupiter have been joined by a partile aspect, and Saturn, placed in the right square, has aspected them, placed together partilely, by a partile aspect, and Mars likewise strikes these same planets by square with a threatening aspect, while the Sun is in the sixth or in the twelfth place, from this conjunction a servile nativity is decreed; nor will Jupiter, assailed from both sides, be able to free the native from servile necessities.

〔一〕倘若月亮与木星以精确到度的相位相结，落在右四分的土星以精确到度的相位照着精确同度的它们，火星也同样以带威胁的相位从四分打击这两颗星，而太阳在第六宫或第十二宫，从这一相结中就判定奴隶的本命；木星从两边受攻击，也不能把本命之人从奴隶的不得已中解救出来。

[2] If the Moon has been found in the Midheaven, and Jupiter has been placed in the same place, and Mars has received the conjunction of the waxing Moon, and Saturn has aspected the conjunction of Mars and the Moon with a threatening aspect, they will make good slaves indeed, but always weighed down by the burden of unhappiness.

〔二〕倘若月亮被发现在中天，木星也落在同一个宫位，火星接受了盈月的会合，而土星以带威胁的相位照着火星与月亮的会合，它们确实会造就好奴隶，但总被不幸的重担所压。

[3] If Mars and Saturn have aspected the Moon together from opposition, and none of the benefic planets has come upon either the Moon or those placed in opposition with a saving aspect, this conjunction will either make slaves, or will cause them, deprived of the protection of their parents, to be weighed down by the wretched burden of orphanhood.

〔三〕倘若火星与土星一同从对冲照着月亮，而吉星没有一颗以救护的相位来到月亮或落在对冲上的那两颗星，这一相结或者造就奴隶，或者使他们失去父母的护佑，被孤儿的悲惨重担所压。

[4] If Saturn and Mars have aspected Venus and the Moon, placed in different places, by a square or an opposite aspect, and the suitable testimony of Jupiter is denied to all of these, this conjunction will cause those born of slave parents to be weighed down by the perpetual burden of slavery.

〔四〕倘若土星与火星以四分或对冲的相位照着落在不同宫位的金星与月亮，而木星合宜的见证又拒绝给这一切，这一相结就会使奴隶父母所生的人被奴役的永久重担所压。

[5] If Jupiter and Venus have aspected the degree of the Ascendant with a favorable aspect, and if the Sun and the Moon have seen this same degree, that is, the Ascendant, by any aspect whatever, while Mars and Saturn have kept the malignant rays of their power apart from the degree of the Ascendant, the one born prosperously will be reared more prosperously.

〔五〕倘若木星与金星以顺遂的相位照着上升点的度数，太阳与月亮又以任何相位看着这同一个度数即上升点，而火星与土星把它们力量的恶毒光线与上升点的度数隔开，那么顺遂出生的人会被更顺遂地养大。

[6] But if, without the protection or testimony of the benefic planets, Saturn and Mars have aspected the degree of the Ascendant with a threatening aspect, or if, with one of the malefics placed in the Ascendant, the other, placed in the Descendant, has struck the Ascendant by an opposite aspect, either they die placed at the very threshold of life, or life-giving nourishment is denied them as they enter upon the first traces of light, or the offspring, once born, is exposed through the obstinate mind of the mother. But if, with the malefics placed as we have said, Venus or Jupiter has lent testimony to the Ascendant, the exposed child will be taken up and reared by the protection of another's compassion.

〔六〕但倘若没有吉星的护佑或见证，土星与火星以带威胁的相位照着上升点的度数，或者一颗凶星落在上升点，另一颗落在下降点，以对冲的相位打击上升点，他们或者就在生命的门槛上死去，或者在踏上光明的最初足迹时就被拒绝给予维生的乳食，或者已出生的婴儿因母亲顽固的心意而被遗弃。但倘若凶星像我们所说的那样落定，而金星或木星借给上升点见证，被遗弃的孩子就会被拾起，借别人怜悯的护佑而被养大。

[7] If Jupiter has been placed partilely in the Ascendant, and Mars, placed in opposition, has aspected the Ascendant and Jupiter by a partile aspect, the other planets lending them no testimony, this conjunction decrees a resource of middling substance. But to these same men many [lacuna] of enemies, and protection is denied them.

〔七〕倘若木星精确到度地落在上升点，而落在对冲上的火星以精确到度的相位照着上升点与木星，其他行星都不借给它们见证，这一相结就判定中等实质的财力。但这些人有许多〔此处原文有缺〕仇敌，护佑被拒绝给他们。

[8] But with Jupiter and Mars placed as we have said, that is, Jupiter in the Ascendant and Mars placed in the Descendant, if Saturn or Mercury has aspected Mars by any aspect whatever, they make men either lunatics or epileptics overwhelmed by frenzy of mind.

〔八〕但木星与火星像我们所说的那样落定，即木星在上升点、火星在下降点时，倘若土星或水星以任何相位照着火星，它们就使人或者成为疯人，或者成为被心智狂乱所压倒的癫痫病人。

[9] But if, with Jupiter placed in the degree of the Ascendant, Saturn, placed in the Descendant, that is, in opposition, aspects Jupiter and the Ascendant, in a day nativity, and the full Moon is moving toward Jupiter, they decree riches, good fortunes, and increases of the highest happiness. But if, with Jupiter placed in the Ascendant, Venus has been found in the Descendant, that is, in opposition, they deny brothers and children alike. Nevertheless they decree increases of riches and good fortune.

〔九〕但倘若木星落在上升点的度数，而落在下降点即对冲上的土星照着木星与上升点，在白天的本命盘里，满月又正趋向木星，它们就判定财富、好运与最高幸福的增长。但倘若木星落在上升点，而金星被发现在下降点即对冲上，它们就同样拒绝给予兄弟与子女。然而它们仍判定财富与好运的增长。

[10] If Saturn has been placed partilely in the Ascendant, and has Mars placed partilely in the Descendant, that is, in opposition, or joined to itself and to the Ascendant in partile association in the lower Midheaven, and the Moon is moving either full toward Mars or diminished toward Saturn, this conjunction decrees a grievous and wretched end in death. For either their limbs, consumed by the bites of wild beasts, are torn apart with wretched mangling, or they will cause them to be hurled down precipices, or the body is crushed by the collapse of falling roofs; or at least the one who has Saturn and Mars so, destined for a bitter death, is handed over to the bloody hands of brigands; or, as though sunk by bitter storms, he is overwhelmed by an unheard-of kind of death.

〔十〕倘若土星精确到度地落在上升点，而有火星精确到度地落在下降点即对冲上，或者在天底以精确的结伴与它以及上升点相结，而月亮或满着趋向火星、或亏着趋向土星，这一相结就判定沉重而悲惨的死亡结局。因为或者他们的肢体被野兽的咬噬吞食，以悲惨的伤残被撕裂；或者它们使他们被抛下悬崖；或者身体被倒塌屋顶的崩落压垮；或者至少这样拥有土星与火星的人，注定要遭苦涩的死亡，被交到强盗血腥的手里；或者好像被苦涩的风暴淹没一样，被一种前所未闻的死法压倒。

[11] But the outcome of the death will be found according to the kind of the signs. For placed in wild-beast and in rustic signs, they bring the bites of wild beasts upon men made ready for slaughter. But placed in solid signs, they bring down upon them the roofs of tottering buildings. Placed in watery signs, they either make them perish in battle, or the cruel blade of brigands seeks their throat, or at least they are punished by some power that inflicts punishment.

〔十一〕但死亡的结局要依星座的种类找出。因为落在野兽星座与乡野星座里，它们给注定被杀的人带来野兽的咬噬。但落在固定星座里，它们把摇摇欲坠的建筑的屋顶砸到他们身上。落在水象星座里，它们或者使他们死在战斗中，或者强盗残忍的刀刃寻找他们的咽喉，或者至少他们被某个施加惩处的权力所惩处。

[12] For in every case, with Saturn placed in the Ascendant, if Mars has been found in the Descendant, it decrees the end of a wretched death. But they are punished by the sentence of a judge when Mercury has come to all of these from a square.

〔十二〕因为在任何情形下，土星落在上升点时，倘若火星被发现在下降点，它就判定悲惨死亡的结局。但当水星从四分来到这一切时，他们就受法官的判决惩处。

[13] If Mars has been placed partilely in the Ascendant, and the star of Jupiter aspects it from the Descendant, that is, from opposition, this aspect decrees dangers, anxieties, and griefs in middle age, the dangers arising from seditions and tumults; it will also bring about lawsuits and losses in like manner. But after many shipwrecks of life a happy period of old age is decreed for these men. It will give them as wives either slave women, or women of advanced age, or public harlots, or women who practice the offices of some craft. Nor is the full number of their brothers preserved in the same city, but all their brothers are parted from them either by travel abroad or by death.

〔十三〕倘若火星精确到度地落在上升点，而木星之星从下降点即对冲照着它，这一相位就在中年判定危险、忧虑与悲痛，这些危险来自骚乱与扰攘；它也同样造成讼案与损失。但经过人生的许多船难之后，为这些人判定一段幸福的晚年。它给他们的妻子，或是婢女，或是年长的女人，或是公开的娼妓，或是从事某种手艺的女人。他们兄弟的全数也不能在同一座城里保全，所有兄弟都或因远游、或因死亡而与他们分开。

[14] If, with the Moon placed in some angle, Mars, placed in opposition and [probably: "Mars placed in opposition, or Saturn, aspects it"] [lacuna] toward Saturn, either has been found in the same degree, or aspects the Ascendant from another angle with an equal aspect of degree, while Jupiter has been found with the Moon in the sixth place from the Ascendant, or in the eighth, or in the twelfth, the one who has been born lives as long as the Moon is found with Jupiter. As soon as the Moon has passed the degree of Jupiter, a hastened death is at once decreed for the native.

〔十四〕倘若月亮落在某个角里，火星落在对冲上并〔推测：当作「火星从对冲、或土星照着它」〕〔此处原文有缺〕向着土星，或被发现在同一度，或从另一个角以同等度数的相位照着上升点，而木星与月亮一同被发现在从上升点起的第六宫、第八宫或第十二宫，那么出生的人，只在月亮与木星同在的期间活着。一旦月亮越过木星的度数，立即为本命之人判定急促的死亡。

[15] If the Moon and the Sun have been joined in a synodic aspect, and Mars has been found in the middle between the Sun and the Moon in the same sign, and Saturn aspects them from a square, joined by an aspect of equal degrees, those who have the planets so will perish overwhelmed by vicious humors, or are seized by the frenzies of madness, or will meet the end of a wretched death from the floods of the sea. 〔十五〕倘若月亮与太阳以朔的相位相结，火星在同一个星座里被发现在太阳与月亮的正中间，而土星以同等度数的相位相结，从四分照着它们，这样拥有诸星的人，会被恶性体液压垮而死，或被疯狂的狂乱抓住，或因海水泛滥而遭悲惨的死亡结局。〔原文疑有讹误〕

[16] But if, with these placed as we have said, that is, the Sun, the Moon, Mars, and Saturn [probably: "with the Sun and the Moon so placed, Mars and Saturn"] [lacuna], they have been found in the eighth place from the Ascendant, while all the other planets have been placed in the sixth or in the seventh place from the Ascendant, they will make men lunatics and epileptics, and men whose mind an angry or malignant deity always harries, so that, with all the reason of their mind disturbed, they suddenly hurl out rash words without reason.

〔十六〕但倘若这些像我们所说的那样落定，即太阳、月亮、火星与土星〔推测：当作「日月如此落定，而火星与土星」〕〔此处原文有缺〕，被发现在从上升点起的第八宫，而其余诸星都落在从上升点起的第六宫或第七宫，它们会使人成为疯人与癫痫病人，他们的心总被一位发怒的或恶毒的神灵所扰，以致心中的一切理智被扰乱，突然毫无理由地吐出鲁莽的话。

[17] If in a man's nativity the wife's Moon has been found in the twelfth place from the Ascendant, that is, if this sign in which the wife's Moon is placed has been found in the husband's cacodaemon, it will make the wife subject to all the wrongs of her husband, and composes her with such moderation of mind that up to the last day of her life she patiently receives her husband's wrongs.

〔十七〕倘若在男人的本命盘里，妻子的月亮被发现在从上升点起的第十二宫，也就是说，倘若妻子的月亮所在的这个星座，被发现在丈夫的恶灵之宫，它就会使妻子受丈夫的一切欺侮，并以这样节制的心性组成她，以致直到她生命的最后一天，她都耐心地承受丈夫的欺侮。

[18] If, again, this sign in which the husband's Moon is placed has been placed in the wife's cacodaemon, you will declare from this that the wife is an adulteress, and such a woman as shamelessly rages against her husband with every kind of wrong, so that in the judgment of the wicked woman her adulterers are preferred to her husband in every way. And the husbands, enduring these wrongs, patiently bear everything their wives do.

〔十八〕反过来，倘若丈夫的月亮所在的这个星座落在妻子的恶灵之宫，你就要由此宣告妻子是奸妇，是这样一个女人：她无耻地以各种欺侮向丈夫肆虐，以致在这个邪恶女人的判断里，奸夫在各方面都胜过丈夫。而丈夫们忍受这些欺侮，耐心地承受妻子所做的一切。

[19] But if wife and husband have had the Moon placed in the same sign in their nativities, or if the woman's Jupiter aspects the man's Moon with a favorable aspect, or again the man's Jupiter has aspected the woman's Moon with a like aspect, or if the Moon of each nativity is joined by a trine aspect, love, joined by an equal bond of affection, always sustains them with an even desire of longing.

〔十九〕但倘若妻子与丈夫在本命盘里把月亮落在同一个星座，或女人的木星以顺遂的相位照着男人的月亮，或反过来男人的木星以相似的相位照着女人的月亮，或两张本命盘的月亮以三分相相结，爱以同等的情谊纽带相结，总以均等的渴望之欲维系他们。

[20] If Venus has been found in an earthy sign, and, placed in this sign, has occupied the seventh place from the Ascendant or the Midheaven, or, placed in the twelfth place from the Ascendant and set in opposition to Saturn, has partilely received its rays, from this aspect it decrees the misfortunes of a long and lasting widowhood.

〔二十〕倘若金星被发现在土象星座，并在这个星座里占住从上升点起的第七宫或中天，或落在从上升点起的第十二宫、与土星对冲而精确地接受它的光线，从这一相位它就判定长久持续的守寡之不幸。

[21] But if Venus so placed has been found in morning rising, it brings about the misfortunes of widowhood for those placed in early life. But if it has been found in evening rising, the troubles of widowhood are decreed in [probably: later] [lacuna] life. And some, possessed by an incestuous ardor of desire, they compel to enter upon forbidden unions with their daughters.

〔二十一〕但倘若这样落定的金星被发现在晨升之中，它就给处在早年的人带来守寡的不幸。但倘若被发现在昏升之中，守寡的困扰就判定在〔推测：晚年的〕〔此处原文有缺〕人生。它们还驱使一些被乱伦欲望的热度所占据的人，去与女儿发生被禁止的结合。

[22] If the Moon and Venus, placed together in a night nativity and set in feminine signs, have occupied the Descendant or the Midheaven, and Mars and Saturn aspect them from opposition, they cause daughters, through an incestuous ardor of frenzy and the impulse of an unspeakable desire, to be joined to their fathers in forbidden bonds of marriage.

〔二十二〕倘若月亮与金星在夜间的本命盘里一同落定，落在阴性星座，占住下降点或中天，而火星与土星从对冲照着它们，它们就以乱伦的狂乱热度与不可言说之欲望的冲动，使女儿与父亲以被禁止的婚姻纽带相结。

[23] If the lord of the marriage sign, placed in a feminine sign, has occupied the Descendant or the Midheaven, it drives virgins to secret debauchery [lacuna] with desire. But we find the kinds of debauchery according to the varieties of the planets. For if Saturn has been found to be lord of the marriage sign, debauchery is prepared for the virgin either by her father, or by her paternal uncle, or by her stepfather, or by an old man, or by a slave. But if Mars has become lord of the marriage sign, and it too has been placed as we have said, the flower of virginity is snatched away with a certain violence.

〔二十三〕倘若婚姻星座的主星落在阴性星座，占住下降点或中天，它就以欲望驱使处女去暗中淫乱〔此处原文有缺〕。但我们依行星的不同找出淫乱的种类。因为倘若土星被发现是婚姻星座的主星，处女的淫乱或来自父亲，或来自叔伯，或来自继父，或来自老人，或来自奴隶。但倘若火星成了婚姻星座的主星，它也像我们所说的那样落定，童贞之花就被某种暴力夺走。

[24] But if Venus has become lady of the marriage sign, and it too is placed as we have said, the crime of debauchery is committed willingly during the nightly vigils of sacred rites. But if Mercury is lord of the marriage sign [probably: , and is itself placed as we have said,] [lacuna] placed before, they, captivated by the persuasions of promises, surrender their virginity to the desire of the seducer. And from the occasion both charges are stirred up and the tumult of seditious outcry is brought on. But the dangers of perils become greater if Mars has been found with Mercury.

〔二十四〕但倘若金星成了婚姻星座的女主星，它也像我们所说的那样落定，淫乱之罪就在神圣仪礼的夜间守夜中自愿犯下。但倘若水星是婚姻星座的主星〔推测：，它自己也像我们所说的那样落定〕〔此处原文有缺〕先前落定，她们被许诺的劝说所俘获，把童贞交给引诱者的欲望。由于这个机会，罪名被激起，骚乱的喧嚷也随之而来。但倘若火星被发现与水星同在，危难的危险就更大。
