第十一章

Mars and the Sun in Square.

火星与太阳成四分

[1] If Mars and the Sun have been joined by a square aspect, and Mars, occupying the superior part of the right square, has aspected the Sun placed in the left with a threatening aspect, this conjunction passes over no stroke of misfortune, and with a malignant arrangement of its decree it always assails every opportunity of advancement and every course of promotion.

〔一〕倘若火星与太阳以四分相相结，而火星占住右四分的上方之位，以带威胁的相位照着落在左方的太阳，这一相结就不放过任何一种不幸的打击，并以它判定的恶毒安排，总攻击每一个上进的机会与每一条升迁的途径。

[2] But if the Sun, having become superior and occupying the right side, has aspected Mars placed in the inferior place with a square aspect, from this conjunction a wretched end is prepared both for the father and for the native himself; a heap of misfortunes is laid on him, and the various troubles of calamities are decreed; it stirs up seditions, brings about fights, and rouses the fearful dangers of punishment by the people.

〔二〕但倘若太阳居上位、占住右方，以四分相照着落在下位的火星，从这一相结中就为父亲与本命之人自己都准备了悲惨的结局；一堆不幸压在他身上，种种灾祸的困扰被判定；它挑起骚乱，带来争斗，并激起民众惩处的可怕危险。

[3] It also always [lacuna] the sound foundations of the mind and of plans, and brings upon the eyes of others the wretched burden of blindness. These dangers are stirred up more strongly in a day nativity, especially if this conjunction has been joined to the Ascendant by a threatening aspect, or if Mars, placed in the Descendant, or occupying the degree of the Midheaven, or placed in another angle, has received the light of the waxing Moon.

〔三〕它还总〔此处原文有缺〕心智与谋划的稳固根基，并把失明的悲惨重担加到别人的眼睛上。这些危险在白天的本命盘里被激起得更强，尤其是倘若这一相结以带威胁的相位与上升点相结，或者火星落在下降点、或占住中天的度数、或落在另一个角，接受了盈月之光。

[4] Then they tear apart with wretched mutilations men laid low by public punishment; then, their limbs torn by the punishment of the people, they are denied the honor of burial that is their due, so that, the danger of the punishment persisting even after death, the end of their calamity is made greater. In a night nativity too these same things are brought about from this conjunction in a like order of reckoning.

〔四〕那时，被公众惩处打倒的人遭受悲惨的肢解而被撕裂；那时，他们的肢体被民众的惩处撕裂，得不到应有的埋葬之礼，以致惩处的危险在死后仍然持续，灾祸的结局更为加重。在夜间的本命盘里，这一相结也以相似的道理与次序造成同样的事。

[5] If Mars and Venus have been joined by a square aspect, and Mars, occupying the superior part of the right square, has aspected Venus placed in the left square with a threatening aspect, this conjunction decrees all evils. Then it brings about quarrels and the fearful dangers of accusation; then losses arising on account of a woman shake the man. But if this conjunction is in tropical signs, then every impurity of unchastity grows strong in the effeminate body of men; then men will suffer the burning of women's lusts; then, with the shipwreck of their modesty and reputation, they are defiled by the stains of unchaste impurity.

〔五〕倘若火星与金星以四分相相结，而火星占住右四分的上方之位，以带威胁的相位照着落在左四分的金星，这一相结就判定一切恶事。那时它带来争吵与被控告的可怕危险；那时因一个女人而起的损失震撼这个男人。但倘若这一相结在回归星座里，那时男人柔弱的身体里一切不贞的不洁便滋长；那时男人会承受女人情欲的灼烧；那时他们的羞耻与名誉遭到船难，被不贞的不洁污点所玷污。

[6] They will also drive their wives to commit adultery, hand them over to the embraces of others with the complaisance of prostituted modesty, and compel a marriage joined under evil auspices to serve the lusts of others with the wretched necessity of calamity; or, with a pander's mind, they gladly acknowledge the hidden adultery of their wives. If this is the nativity of women, they endure, through the husband, this necessity of a prostituted body, always with bitter grief of soul.

〔六〕他们还会驱使自己的妻子去通奸，以出卖羞耻的纵容把她们交给别人的怀抱，并以灾祸的悲惨不得已，强迫一桩在凶兆下结成的婚姻去满足别人的情欲；或者以皮条客的心思，乐于认可妻子隐秘的通奸。倘若这是女人的本命盘，她们就借丈夫之手承受这种出卖身体的不得已，灵魂总带着苦涩的悲痛。

[7] But if Venus, having become superior and occupying the right side, has aspected Mars placed in the inferior place with a square aspect, it decrees these same things in a like manner. But those who have Venus so practice their misdeed in secret, so that the wicked traffic of prostituted modesty is screened by hidden impurities of lust, and a guilty conscience conceals whatever has been commanded by the vicious desires of the soul, especially if Jupiter, either placed together with one of them or by a trine aspect, has aspected it.

〔七〕但倘若金星居上位、占住右方，以四分相照着落在下位的火星，它也以相似的方式判定同样的事。但这样拥有金星的人在暗中行他们的恶事，以致出卖羞耻的罪恶交易被隐藏的情欲不洁所遮掩，有罪的良心隐瞒灵魂的恶欲所命令的一切，尤其是倘若木星与其中一颗同在，或以三分相照着它。

[8] If Mars and Mercury have been joined by a square aspect, and Mars, occupying the superior part of the right square, has aspected Mercury placed in the left square with a threatening aspect, this conjunction decrees the fearful outcomes of all evils; it always weakens the man with a harmful, unbroken succession of pains, always assails all his actions with various adversities, will bring it about that these same men are always ill spoken of through malignant rumors, and stirs up the fearful dangers of bitter accusations, so that through the calamities of these dangers they are handed over either to custody or to prison. But these evils grow stronger in a day nativity, while in a night nativity they are softened in some part.

〔八〕倘若火星与水星以四分相相结，而火星占住右四分的上方之位，以带威胁的相位照着落在左四分的水星，这一相结就判定一切恶事的可怕结局；它总以有害而不断的疼痛削弱这个人，总以种种违逆攻击他的一切作为，会使这些人总因恶毒的谣言而被说坏话，并激起苦涩控告的可怕危险，以致因这些危险的灾祸，他们或被交付看管，或被投入监狱。但这些恶事在白天的本命盘里更强，在夜间的本命盘里则在某种程度上缓和。

[9] But if Mercury, having become superior and occupying the right side, has aspected Mars placed in the inferior place with a square aspect, this conjunction will make men wicked, malignant, and malicious, always armed with the worst and most pestilent desire of mind, practicing every kind of fraud, rapacious, men who feed on the property of others with the varied desire of their mind, and who pass from one man to another, always restless and seeking a post from which their pestilent bites may inflict a wound; so that those stripped bare by their wicked machinations and cunning frauds, deprived by malignant frauds, suffer the whole substance of their patrimonies to pass to the profit of those whom a harmful wickedness always arms.

〔九〕但倘若水星居上位、占住右方，以四分相照着落在下位的火星，这一相结会使人邪恶、恶毒、心怀恶意，总以最坏最毒的心中欲望武装自己，惯行各种欺诈，贪婪，以心中种种欲望吞食别人的财物；他们从一个人转到另一个人那里，总是不安分，寻找一个可以让他们毒害的噬咬造成伤口的位置；以致被他们邪恶的诡计与狡猾的欺诈剥光、被恶毒的欺诈夺去的人，眼看自己祖产的全部实质，转到那些总被有害的邪恶武装起来的人的利益上。

[10] If Mars and the Moon have been joined by a square aspect, and Mars, occupying the superior part of the right square, has aspected the Moon placed in the left square with a threatening aspect, this conjunction brings upon the mother the bitter burden of widowhood, and destroys this same mother, her strength weakened, either by a flow of blood or by the atrocities of a wretched death; and those who are born they cause to be entangled in the bitter assaults of daemons, so that the soul, possessed by the power of a malignant spirit, grants the daemon the power of ruling in the body,

〔十〕倘若火星与月亮以四分相相结，而火星占住右四分的上方之位，以带威胁的相位照着落在左四分的月亮，这一相结就给母亲带来守寡的苦涩重担，并在她力量衰弱时以血流或悲惨死亡的残酷毁灭这位母亲；而出生的人，它们使之卷入邪灵苦涩的侵袭，以致被恶毒之灵的力量占据的灵魂，把在身体里主宰的权力交给邪灵，

[11] especially if Mars has been found in the terms of Saturn, and the Moon either in the terms of Mercury or in the terms of Mars; for frequently the wickedness of the aforesaid malice is softened by the terms of the benefic planets. But when they have been possessed by such a calamity of misfortunes, they flee these dangerous assaults and take refuge in the saving protection of some deity, so that in this way they are freed from the danger of this peril.

〔十一〕尤其是倘若火星被发现在土星的界里，而月亮在水星的界或火星的界里；因为前面所说恶意的邪恶，常因落在吉星的界里而得到缓和。但当他们被这样的不幸灾祸所占据时，他们躲避这些危险的侵袭，投奔某位神明救护的庇佑，好借此从这场危难中被解救出来。

[12] But if the Moon, having become superior and occupying the right side, has aspected Mars placed in the inferior place with a square aspect, this conjunction makes the mother of ignoble and cast-down birth, and it always brings about straits in life from wretched necessity. Fate too lays the substance of life low in the abasement of wretched lowliness, and amid these misfortunes, with an increase of unhappiness, it also decrees wicked wives. [text uncertain]

〔十二〕但倘若月亮居上位、占住右方，以四分相照着落在下位的火星，这一相结就使母亲出身卑贱低下，并总从悲惨的不得已中带来生活的困窘。命运也把人生的实质压在悲惨卑下的低处，在这些不幸之中，随着不幸的加增，它还判定恶劣的妻子。〔原文疑有讹误〕

The Sun and the Moon in Square.

太阳与月亮成四分

[1] If the Sun and the Moon have been joined by a square aspect, whether they occupy the right or the left side on the angles, they obtain their effectiveness in the decrees for men from the testimonies of the other planets. For when the ray of the benefic planets has come to this conjunction in a prosperous [lacuna] association, great occupations, a sufficient substance of life, and the insignia of glorious rank are always conferred through prosperous recommendations.

〔一〕倘若太阳与月亮以四分相相结，无论它们在角上占住右方还是左方，它们在对人的判定中，都从其他行星的见证取得效力。因为当吉星的光线以顺遂的〔此处原文有缺〕结伴来到这一相结时，大的职业、足够的生活实质与荣耀品级的徽章，总借顺遂的推荐而被授予。

[2] But if the malefic planets, without the protection of the benefics, have come upon this association of the Sun and the Moon with a malignant aspect, the greatest dangers to life and the greatest troubles of misfortunes are decreed. But if, with the rays of the malefic planets so joined, the Moon, full of light, is moving toward Jupiter, and Jupiter has received the conjunction of the waxing Moon, it decrees the insignia of nobility together with the greatest envy. But if the protection of Jupiter has been denied to the aforesaid conjunction, the harmful wickedness of the malefic planets grows strongly.

〔二〕但倘若凶星没有吉星的护佑，以恶毒的相位来到太阳与月亮的这一结伴，就判定最大的性命危险与最大的不幸困扰。但倘若凶星的光线这样相结时，光满的月亮正趋向木星，而木星接受了盈月的会合，它就判定高贵的徽章，同时伴有最大的嫉妒。但倘若前面所说的相结得不到木星的护佑，凶星有害的邪恶就强烈地增长。

Venus and Mercury in Square.

金星与水星成四分

[1] If Venus and Mercury have been joined by a square aspect, whichever of them has occupied the right square, they decree everything on an equal principle. For this conjunction decrees the offices of some distinguished and pleasing art, or from this conjunction the training of some great learning is handed down, so that from this office of instruction they attain the renown of a distinguished way of life. Malicious talk spreads infamy about them on account of love affairs with women.

〔一〕倘若金星与水星以四分相相结，无论哪一颗占住右四分，它们都以同等的道理判定一切。因为这一相结判定某种出众而讨人喜欢的技艺之职，或从这一相结中传授某种大学问的修养，以致他们从这一教导之职中得到出众生活方式的名声。恶毒的言语因与女人的恋情而散布他们的污名。

[2] If Venus and the Moon have been joined by a square aspect, and the Moon, occupying the superior part of the right square, has aspected Venus placed in the left square with a threatening aspect, this conjunction decrees the greatest gains of riches. But it always afflicts men with various losses on account of women, or always lays on them injuries of infamy.

〔二〕倘若金星与月亮以四分相相结，而月亮占住右四分的上方之位，以带威胁的相位照着落在左四分的金星，这一相结就判定财富的最大收益。但它总因女人而以种种损失折磨男人，或总加给他们污名的伤害。

[3] But if Venus, having become superior and occupying the right side, has aspected the Moon placed in the inferior place with a square aspect, it always increases the greatest good fortune with prosperous increases and decrees things better than the aforesaid goods; this conjunction adorns both occupations and life with an honorable way of living, keeps the love of their wives toward them uncorrupted, and decrees the pure and good affections of spouses; it also decrees, with the greatest good fortune, full advantages of gladness, the insignia of a distinguished art, an orderly and honorable way of life, and the grace of sweet speech. Nevertheless the natives themselves desire the beds of others with impatient desire. It also bestows on their mothers the honorable glory of chastity. But these men obtain compliant wives from among women freed by others.

〔三〕但倘若金星居上位、占住右方，以四分相照着落在下位的月亮，它就总以顺遂的增长增添最大的好运，判定比前面所说更好的事；这一相结以体面的生活方式装点职业与人生，使妻子对他们的爱不受败坏，并判定配偶纯洁良好的情意；它还以最大的好运判定满满的欢喜之利、出众技艺的徽章、有序而体面的生活方式，以及甜美言辞的魅力。然而本命之人自己却以按捺不住的欲望渴求别人的床榻。它还赐给他们的母亲贞洁的体面荣耀。但这些人从被别人释放的女人中得到顺从的妻子。
