第五章

[1] If you join in partnership with such men, never entrust to them the secrets of your good faith, never commit anything to them in simple trust. [lacuna] they will deny it, and they will fortify their shamelessness with the irreligious defense of perjury. They will be armed for every crime of treachery, especially if, with Mercury so placed, Mars has in turn been found in the terms of Mercury, or if Mars, having become superior, has struck with a square aspect Mercury placed in the cast-down places of the nativity.

〔一〕倘若你与这样的人结成合伙，永远不要把你信义的秘密托付给他们，永远不要以单纯的信任把任何东西交给他们。〔此处原文有缺〕他们会否认，并以伪誓这种不敬神的辩护来加固他们的无耻。他们会为一切背信的罪行武装起来，尤其是倘若水星这样落位，而火星又被发现在水星之界，或倘若火星居于上位，以四分相打击落在本命被抛下之宫位的水星。

[2] Then, too, on account of these criminal deeds they are condemned either to long confinement in prison or to perpetual exile, or, possessed by a share in crimes [text uncertain], and fearing too the severity of an impending sentence, they abandon their fathers' hearths and are led off in fugitive wandering to remote and distant places. But if, with Mercury and Mars so placed, the Moon, full of light, is carried toward Mars by square or by opposition, and the benefic planets do not meet her with a prosperous aspect, and the malice of Mars or of Mercury has not been mitigated by the testimony of Jupiter or Venus, they are struck with severe punishment on account of these crimes.

Mercury in the House or in the Decan of the Sun.

[3] If Mercury has been found in the house or in the decan of the Sun, and it is a day nativity, it will make men moderate in soul and mind alike, moderate both in listening and in devising; but it will also cause them to handle difficult and malicious writings and commend to them the duties of laborious letters, or it will cause them to be assigned to public duties; it will also make them sensible, with a certain curiosity, entangled in secret and unlawful activities and ineffectual pursuits.

〔三〕倘若水星被发现在太阳之庙或太阳的十度区，而本命盘是白天的，就会使人在心志与心智上都中庸，在听与想上都中庸；但它也会使他们经手艰难而带恶意的文书，把劳苦的文书之职托付给他们，或使他们被派任公共职务；它还会使他们明理，带着某种好奇，陷入隐秘而不法的作为与无效的追求。

[4] But if it is a night nativity, it will either make them deranged in mind or weaken the ears or the tongue; it decrees wanderings of life or defects, or makes them such as the judgments of evil report always pursue, and whom the right judgment of good speech never commends.

〔四〕但倘若本命盘是夜间的，它就会或使他们心智错乱，或削弱耳朵或舌头；它判定一生的漂泊或缺损，或使他们成为恶名的评判总追着不放、而良言的公正评判从不推荐的那种人。

Mercury in the Terms of Venus.

[5] If Mercury has been found in the terms or in the decan of Venus, it decrees everything in a like manner in a day and a night nativity. For then it will cause men's speech to be adorned with the pleasing splendor of charm, joins them in faithful love of intimacy to the powerful and to kings, and renders them such as are accustomed to find everything by the right principles of counsel, and whose every activity a prosperous outcome follows.

〔五〕倘若水星被发现在金星之界或金星的十度区，它在白天与夜间的本命盘里以同样的方式判定一切。因为那时它会使人的言辞以魅力宜人的光彩为饰，以亲密忠实的爱使他们与权贵与君王相结，并使他们成为惯于以正确的谋划之理找出一切、一切作为都有顺遂结局跟随的人。

[6] They will be steeped in double letters; they will attain all computation and all the disciplines of skill; or, with the honor of some authority, they will be set over athletes; or they compose the measures of music with sweet melody; or at any rate they follow the discipline of poetry; or they will be dyers of colors; or through them the sweet scent of spices is supplied, or the merchandise of precious gems; or they will handle the duties of foreign trade, so that in every way both patrimony and rank are conferred on them from these activities. They will certainly be lustful in sexual intercourse, and men who corrupt the marriages of others with the depraved greed of the mind. They will be full of vices and always assailed by frequent infamy on account of these vices.

〔六〕他们会浸润于双重的文字；会通晓一切计算与一切技巧的学科；或凭某种权力的荣誉被置于竞技者之上；或以甜美的旋律谱写音乐的曲调；或至少追随诗的学科；或会是颜色的染匠；或香料的甜美气味借他们供应，或珍贵宝石的买卖；或经办外邦贸易的职事，以致从这些作为中，祖产与品级都以各种方式授予他们。他们当然在交合上好色，以心智邪恶的贪欲败坏别人的婚姻。他们会满身恶习，总因这些恶习而遭频繁的恶名攻击。

The Moon in Its Own House or in Its Own Decan.

月亮在自己的庙或自己的十度区

[1] If the Moon has been found in its own house or in its own decan, and it is a night nativity, it decrees great substance and the insignia of great glory and assigns the duty of some power, especially if it has been found in the chief places of the nativity. It will make men who seek adequate supports of means for themselves by their own efforts, effective, popular, skilled in the arts. But if it is a day nativity, it will make men who toil and travel abroad, and whose life is shaken by a frequent succession of dangers, or it always imposes ill health and defects with the torture of bitter pains. Certainly, in a night nativity, if, placed in its own house or in its own decan, it has held the 9th place from the Ascendant, it decrees felicity, riches, glory, and leadership with the greatest power.

〔一〕倘若月亮被发现在自己的庙或自己的十度区，而本命盘是夜间的，就判定大资财与大荣耀的徽章，并派给某种权力的职务，尤其是倘若它被发现在本命的首要宫位。它会使人凭自己的努力为自己求得足够的资财之助，能干、得民心、精于技艺。但倘若本命盘是白天的，就会使人劳苦而远行，一生被频繁接连的危险所动摇，或总加上病患与缺损，带着苦痛的折磨。当然，在夜间的本命盘里，倘若它落在自己的庙或自己的十度区，占住从上升点起的第九宫，就判定幸福、财富、荣耀与带着最大权力的首领之位。

The Moon in the Terms of Saturn.

月亮在土星之界

[2] If the Moon has been found in the terms of Saturn or in its decan, and is full of light, it makes men sluggish and cold in soul and body alike, and cut off from all daring, yet having a talent [lacuna] with the heat of rashness, and men whose intestines are wasted by the torments of a cold humor. But if it is diminished in light, it makes men whose desires and activities a prosperous outcome never follows, and who, the means of their patrimony lost, are weighed down by the wretched burden of poverty, slow in all their activities and sluggish in soul and body alike. Some it will make consumptive, others splenetic; others it tortures with bitter pain in the kidneys; others it weakens with an untimely discharge of blood.

〔二〕倘若月亮被发现在土星之界或它的十度区，而且光满，就使人在心志与身体上都怠惰而冷，与一切胆量隔绝，却有一种才能〔此处原文有缺〕带着鲁莽的热度，他们的肠子被冷性体液的折磨所耗损。但倘若它的光亏减，就使人的愿望与作为从没有顺遂的结局跟随，祖产的资财失去之后，被贫穷的可悲重担压着，在一切作为上迟缓，心志与身体都怠惰。它会使一些人患痨病，另一些人患脾病；使另一些人的肾受苦痛的折磨；以不合时的出血削弱另一些人。

The Moon in the Terms of Jupiter.

[3] If the Moon has been found in the terms or in the decan of Jupiter and is full of light, it will make men honorable and effective, and men who always accomplish all their activities on prosperous principles, seeking patrimonies for themselves by their own virtue. Others it leads to foreign places for the sake of trade. But if it is diminished in light, it decrees misfortunes from the death of parents, and childlessness, and it will diminish the patrimony. It decrees a moderate life with a certain lowliness, or it will produce pains of the sinews, if it has been found in the signs of the malefic planets.

〔三〕倘若月亮被发现在木星之界或木星的十度区，而且光满，就会使人体面而能干，总以顺遂的方式完成一切作为，凭自己的德行为自己求得祖产。它把另一些人为了经商带到外邦之地。但倘若它的光亏减，就判定来自父母之死的不幸与无子，并会减少祖产。它判定带着某种卑下的中庸生活，或者，倘若它被发现在凶星的星座里，会造成筋腱的疼痛。

The Moon in the Terms of Mars.

月亮在火星之界

[4] If the Moon has been found by day, full of light, in the terms or in the decan of Mars, it will make the natives exposed or ignoble, or it decrees a defect and ill health, or it will cause them to be entangled in the violence of dangers or in sudden mishaps. But if it is a night nativity, it either separates the parents through the fault of dissension or shows the mother to be ignoble. Some it shakes with the hardships of living abroad, others with those of sicknesses.

〔四〕倘若月亮在白天、光满，被发现在火星之界或火星的十度区，就会使本命之人被遗弃或出身低微，或判定缺损与病患，或使他们陷入危险的暴力或突然的意外。但倘若本命盘是夜间的，它就或因不和之过使父母分开，或显示母亲出身低微。它以客居异乡的困苦动摇一些人，以疾病的困苦动摇另一些人。

[5] But if by day it is diminished in light in these degrees or decans we have mentioned, it squanders the patrimony and decrees the duties of dangerous business, and from that very business it decrees precarious perils, or wretched ill health and a defect. But if it is a night nativity, and it is diminished in light, it will make men effective and handling many duties, strong, glorious, and men to whom the duties of public business are entrusted, but who linger in foreign regions, and whom a prosperous outcome always follows in all their activities.

〔五〕但倘若在白天它在我们所说的这些度数或十度区里光亏，就挥霍祖产，判定危险事务的职事，并从这些事务本身判定朝不保夕的危险，或可悲的病患与缺损。但倘若本命盘是夜间的，而它的光亏减，就会使人能干、经办许多职事、刚强、荣耀，公共事务的职事托付给他们，但他们滞留在异邦地区，在一切作为上总有顺遂的结局跟随。

The Moon in the House or in the Decan of the Sun.

月亮在太阳之庙或十度区

[6] If the Moon has been found full of light in the house or in the decan of the Sun, and it is a day nativity, it will make men of the people, but such as are entrusted with public duties. It will make them effective, so that they always accomplish every kind of business with prosperous effect. But if it has been found in suitable places of the nativity, that is, if it has occupied the Midheaven or the Ascendant by a partile aspect, and, full of light, has been adorned by the aspect of Jupiter, it will make powerful emperors and kings, or such administrators as have the judgments of the whole world entrusted to their power.

〔六〕倘若月亮光满，被发现在太阳之庙或太阳的十度区，而本命盘是白天的，就会使人出身平民，却被托付公共职务。它会使他们能干，以致他们总以顺遂的效果完成每一种事务。但倘若它被发现在本命合宜的宫位，即倘若它以精确到度的相位占住中天或上升点，又在光满时以木星的相位为饰，就会造就有权势的皇帝与君王，或这样的行政官：整个世界的审判都托付给他们的权力。

[7] But if it is diminished in light, it will make men fit for no necessary activities, lowly in soul and in life alike, and who never persevere in any business. It will cause the mothers of some, weakened and shaken by a long succession of sickness, to undergo the peril of an evil death.

〔七〕但倘若它的光亏减，就会使人不适合任何必要的作为，心志与生活都卑下，在任何事务上都从不坚持。它会使一些人的母亲被长期接连的疾病所削弱、动摇，遭受恶死之险。

The Moon in the Terms of Venus.

月亮在金星之界

[8] If the Moon has been found in the terms or in the decan of Venus and is full of light, it will make men always entangled in infamous love affairs and given to incestuous desires of lust, impure, lustful, and men who always cling to wandering loves. But if it is diminished in light, it decrees good activities with an increase of the greatest felicity, and decrees, with prosperous auspices, a marriage from among the number of their kin.

〔八〕倘若月亮被发现在金星之界或金星的十度区，而且光满，就会使人总陷入不名誉的情事，沉溺于乱伦的情欲，不洁、好色，总黏着游移不定的爱情。但倘若它的光亏减，就判定良好的作为与最大幸福的增长，并以顺遂的兆头判定在亲族之中结成的婚姻。

The Moon in the Terms of Mercury.

月亮在水星之界

[9] If the Moon has been found in the terms or in the decan of Mercury and is full of light, it will make men faithless, who deny things entrusted to them with an obstinate fury of mind and with greedy desires. It will also make housebreakers, thieves, malicious men, and men accustomed to adorn their lies with a certain shadow of truth; or it makes betrayers of their own people, or men who obstinately despise the gods with sacrilegious fury. They will certainly be laborious workmen, but such as never obtain fruits from their labors, and whom the toilsome anxiety of perpetual work torments.

〔九〕倘若月亮被发现在水星之界或水星的十度区，而且光满，就会使人不守信义，以固执的心智狂怒与贪婪的欲望否认托付给他们的东西。它还会造就破门而入者、窃贼、恶毒之人，惯于以某种真实的影子装饰自己的谎言的人；或造就出卖自家人的人，或以亵渎的狂怒固执地蔑视诸神的人。他们当然会是劳苦的工人，却从不能从劳苦中得到果实，永久劳作的辛苦忧虑折磨着他们。

[10] But if it is diminished in light, it will make men consumptive, or insane, or deranged in mind, evil, malicious, men who willingly go on to every venom of malice, who defend either evil men or evil business with obstinate animosity, and whose wickedness grows day by day toward every crime. And they are accustomed to do harm to men like themselves. But if Mars has been found in those same degrees with the Moon, it joins these same men to robbers in a partnership of evil conscience, or causes them to be entangled in various accusations, and hands them over to prison, or binds them in the public bonds of chains. But if none of these is the case, it lays the wretched men low by a wretched death, humbles their patrimony and their life alike, and decrees defects, ill health, and the bitter perils of death with wretched calamity.

〔十〕但倘若它的光亏减，就会使人患痨病，或疯癫，或心智错乱，邪恶、恶毒，乐于走向一切恶意的毒液，以固执的敌意为恶人或恶事辩护，他们的邪恶一天天向一切罪行增长。他们也惯于伤害与自己相似的人。但倘若火星与月亮被发现在同几度里，就会使这些人与强盗结成恶良心的合伙，或使他们陷入种种控告，把他们交给监狱，或以锁链的公共羁绊绑住他们。但倘若这些都不是，就以悲惨的死击倒这些可怜人，使他们的祖产与生活同样卑下，并带着可悲的灾祸判定缺损、病患与死亡的苦险。
