Saturn in Virgo.

[23] Whoever have Saturn in Virgo in their nativity will suffer sicknesses and hardships of life in early life, but they are entangled in stronger evils when Saturn has made its passage to Capricorn or to Taurus, or when it has entered the double signs. For in these signs it decrees disturbances, losses, anxieties, pains, and the sudden ruin of dangers. But proceeding through the other signs it decrees good activities, good occupations, and the adornment of good felicity, so that from these activities they obtain both an increase of patrimony and glory, or at any rate, freed from hardships, labors, and dangers, they obtain rest. He will have that time joyful and glorious.

〔二十三〕凡本命盘里土星在处女的人，早年会受疾病与生活的困苦，但当土星行经摩羯或金牛、或进入双体星座时，他们会陷入更强的祸患。因为在这些星座里，它判定骚乱、损失、忧虑、痛苦与危险的突然毁灭。但行经其他星座时，它判定良好的作为、良好的营生与美好幸福的装饰，以致他们从这些作为中既得到祖产的增长，也得到荣耀，或至少从困苦、劳苦与危险中解脱，得到安息。他会有那段欢乐而荣耀的时光。

[24] But if in the nativity Saturn has come to the sign of Virgo, it will be able to decree no felicity for them. They will certainly have more from their own strength than from the means of their parents, and they will be now lowly, now raised up. They are constantly moved from place to place and from one business to another, and whatever they first sought is squandered in wretched and lavish rendings; and when all the means of their substance have been squandered, they obtain another substance of means in turn; but this too they squander in the same way, nor will they ever be able to keep possession of a patrimony they have sought.

〔二十四〕但倘若本命盘里土星来到处女这个星座，它就不能为他们判定任何幸福。他们当然从自己的力量所得，多于从父母的资财所得，他们时而卑下，时而被抬起。他们不断地从一地迁到另一地、从一桩事务换到另一桩，凡他们最初求得的，都在可悲而奢靡的撕扯中挥霍掉；当他们资财的一切都挥霍尽了，又反过来得到另一份资财；但这一份他们也以同样的方式挥霍，他们永远不能保有所求得的祖产。

[25] They will certainly always be unstable toward women in early life, and as for the women whom they are allotted by law as wives in early life, they will neither agree with them nor obtain any advantages of profit through them. Nor will they be allotted virgins as wives, but they marry either women debauched by others or women who have already borne children. And if by some chance they have been allotted virgins as wives, they are swiftly separated from their company. Nor will they know only one woman; they certainly mingle with ignoble and abject women, and always love them with faithful affection.

〔二十五〕他们在早年对女人当然总是不定，至于他们早年依法分得的妻子，他们既不与她们和睦，也不能借她们得到任何利益的好处。他们也不会分得处女为妻，而是娶被别人玷污的女人，或已经生过孩子的女人。倘若他们偶然分得了处女为妻，也会很快与她们的结伴分开。他们也不会只认识一个女人；他们当然与无名而卑贱的女人往来，并总以忠实的情意爱她们。

[26] They will certainly be sensible, full of learning and wisdom, given to many occupations and seeking many things; but whatever of these they have attained, they will squander along with the substance of their patrimony, will sustain constant losses on behalf of others, and in these very matters they will deceive with captious falsehood. They will also be ready and reckless in facing dangers, placed in public positions. They will be entangled in popular pursuits, known to all and intimate with all. They will grieve over the misfortunes of their children and will squander their patrimony when Saturn has been found in an angle of the nativity or in the necessary places. Some will also be allotted their own kinswomen as wives. They will have defects and constant pains in the private parts of the body.

[27] But if Saturn is itself the lord of the times, dividing the times among itself and the other planets, they will be in anxieties, in injuries, and in journeys abroad, sustaining the hardships of travel without cause, and they will be in such dangers that they come to many perils. For some will have dangers from high places or from precipices, or from wild beasts, or from a four-footed animal, or from water, and they will see the dangers of death so set before their eyes that they will then think themselves born again.

〔二十七〕但倘若土星本身是时主，把时运分给自己和其他行星，他们就会处在忧虑、伤害与远行之中，无缘无故地承受旅途的困苦，并处在这样的危险中，以致走近许多险境。因为有些人会有来自高处或悬崖的危险，或来自野兽、或来自四足的牲畜、或来自水的危险，他们会看到死亡的危险这样摆在眼前，以致那时他们会以为自己是再生了一回。

[28] They will come into the presence of great and powerful men, and when they have been sought out by them, they are freed by their help. And when they have been freed from all these dangers, they are lifted up by the joys of felicity. They will certainly be contentious, and men who can never endure the restraint of modesty. They will be humane and long-lived, and men to whom felicity comes late. But it will then shine forth [text uncertain] if Saturn is not the lord of the nativity.

Saturn in Libra.

[29] Whoever have Saturn in Libra in their nativity, adorned with the testimonies of the benefic planets, will have the greatest supports of means. But if Saturn is bare of the testimony of the benefic planets, they will be able to have no support of life. And whatever they have obtained, whether from their parents or from others, they will lose with ease. But if a malefic planet has aspected Saturn so placed with a threatening aspect, grave perils are decreed in addition to the preceding evils. But the dangers will be graver when they fall in the hebdomadic or enneadic years, so that they are freed from them with the greatest difficulty.

〔二十九〕凡本命盘里土星在天秤、并以吉星的见证为饰的人，会有极大的资财之助。但倘若土星没有吉星的见证，他们就不会有任何生活之助。他们无论从父母还是从别人那里得到什么，都会轻易失去。但倘若一颗凶星以威胁的相位照着这样落位的土星，就在先前的祸患之外再判定严重的危险。而当危险落在七数之年或九数之年时，危险会更严重，以致他们极难从中解脱。

[30] Yet they will be in such straits that they seek from others the supports of daily life, and then disgrace, then straits, then every calamity of misfortune is brought upon them. But if, at the very time when the dangers are imminent, a benefic planet has possessed the suitable places of the nativity, they are relieved of the whole weight of misfortune. But whatever they have obtained in early life is squandered in wretched rendings, especially when Saturn has entered the sign of Cancer. For then they will be in difficulties, in losses, in accusations, in sicknesses, in custody.

〔三十〕然而他们会处在这样的窘境，以致向别人求取每日生活之助，那时耻辱、窘迫与不幸的一切灾祸都加到他们身上。但倘若就在危险迫近之时，一颗吉星占住了本命合宜的宫位，他们就被解除不幸的全部重压。但他们早年所得的一切，都在可悲的撕扯中挥霍掉，尤其是当土星进入巨蟹这个星座时。因为那时他们会处在困难、损失、控告、疾病与羁押之中。

[31] When Saturn has been found in the right square, and also when Saturn has entered the chief angles of the nativity, then it decrees in every way the hardships of all misfortunes; then there will be proscriptions, then rendings of patrimonies, then they are weighed down by the burden of beggary; then Saturn will give the parents griefs from the misfortunes of their children, then the father's substance is squandered; then it decrees straits, then anxieties, then accusations and lawsuits. And when it has entered its own house again, it decrees these same things in a like manner.

〔三十一〕当土星被发现在右四分，也当土星进入本命的主要之角时，它就在各方面判定一切不幸的困苦；那时会有被剥夺公权，那时祖产被撕扯，那时他们被行乞的重担压着；那时土星会让父母因子女的不幸而悲痛，那时父亲的资财被挥霍；那时它判定窘迫、忧虑、控告与诉讼。当它再次进入自己的庙时，也以同样的方式判定这些。

[32] At this time too it will join them to unworthy or foreign or servile women. But they will endure these things for as long as Saturn takes to complete the first circuit of its course, that is, 30 years. After this time, however, whatever wife they have been allotted, won over by her compliance, they will show her whole affections of marriage.

[33] It decrees this same thing in the nativities of women as well. They will certainly be sensible, reserved, of good counsel, wise, learned, great, desiring everything, imperious, known, glorious, set in great affairs, binding the bond of friendship with greater men, and having the insignia of honor in great cities or among great peoples. They will certainly be such as can never be caught or deceived, contentious, learning many things and knowing many things, and quickly freed from dangers. But they are gravely wearied by the sinews and by pains of the sinews.

[34] They will be set over public places, helping others and having from others power over men. They will be fortunate if [probably: a benefic planet — its name is lost] [lacuna] has been found in good places of the nativity; they will possess the patrimonies of others and will furnish many things. They will be such as the gods foretell the future to, and who foresee the future by the prompting of their own soul. They will obtain the ownership of slaves and of possessions, handing on their substance to their children, and they obtain wives and children according to the decree of their nativity. They will certainly die after dividing their patrimony among their children, freed from all dangers and anxieties, provided, however, that the full span of life has been decreed for them by the lord of the nativity. This matter, as we have frequently said, you ought to gather with careful reasoning in all nativities.

Saturn in Scorpio.

[35] Those who have Saturn in Scorpio are assailed by many turmoils and many dangers in early youth, and they will have power over neither the father's nor the mother's substance. And if they have come by anything from the father's and mother's property, they diminish all of it by various dissipations. Nor will the life of their parents be either renowned or noble. They themselves will be reared in the greatest luxury in early life, but afterward they will be in straits, in ruin, in labors, and in sicknesses, and they will have the food of daily life with great difficulty, with great straits, and with great labors.

〔三十五〕拥有土星在天蝎的人，在青年初期受许多骚乱与许多危险攻击，他们对父亲或母亲的资财都没有支配权。倘若他们从父母的财物中得到了什么，也会以种种挥霍把它全部减少。父母的生活也不会显赫或高贵。他们自己在早年会在极大的奢华中被养大，但后来会处在窘迫、毁坏、劳苦与疾病之中，以极大的困难、极大的窘迫、极大的劳苦得到每日生活的食粮。

[36] Similar dangers are decreed in the hebdomadic and enneadic years up to the 43rd year of age. But if at the time of the dangers they have been relieved by the protection of the benefic planets, they escape the peril of the impending dangers; nevertheless, even so, it troubles them with constant wanderings. But when Saturn has aspected its own place with a trine aspect, and especially when it is in Cancer, it will bring sorrows, pains, journeys abroad, and straits.

〔三十六〕在七数之年与九数之年，直到四十三岁，都判定类似的危险。但倘若在危险之时他们因吉星的护佑而得救，就逃过迫近危险之险；然而即使这样，它仍以不断的漂泊搅扰他们。但当土星以三分相照着自己的位置，尤其是当它在巨蟹时，会带来悲伤、痛苦、远行与窘迫。

[37] But when it has come to Leo and has made a station in that same sign, then it will give the beginnings of felicity; then it makes them advance in every way, then the insignia of honor are conferred, and they are honored with the beginnings of glorious affairs. For as soon as it has made its first station in Leo, the whole nativity is carried over to the beginnings of felicity. For then pains and sorrows and anxieties are laid to rest in every way. But those who have Saturn in Scorpio do not remain with their first wives. Nor, so placed, does it decree virgins as wives, but either widows or women joined to others. They certainly mingle with a great many women, but they are separated from some by death and from others by divorce.

[38] Placed in Scorpio, it will certainly make ill health and defects in the extremities of the body [probably: "but in the extremities of the body", the "si" being corrupt] [text uncertain], and constant pains in the hidden and secret places. But if Jupiter, found in suitable places of the nativity, has aspected Saturn placed in Scorpio with a prosperous aspect, the pains, ill health, and defects are mitigated. But Saturn placed in Scorpio will do harm in the place of children, and whatever children are first received are carried off in various ways. Afterward they will rejoice in a pleasing offspring.

[39] But when Saturn has returned to this same sign, that is, to Scorpio, they will be stronger, they are made powerful and renowned in their localities and among the peoples, and many become humane toward them at that time. It decrees these same things in the nativities of women as well. For, as we said in the book of instruction, what is said of the nativities of men operates also in the nativities of women.

Saturn in Sagittarius.

[40] Whoever have Saturn in Sagittarius are entangled in dangers and many sicknesses, and they obtain nothing from either the father's or the mother's substance. They will be in the greatest losses and anxieties, and, having obtained the greatest substance by their own efforts, they lose this same substance again by wretched dissipation. They are entangled in various sicknesses and ill health, and they will have perils of dangers through the whole span of life when they have come to the hebdomadic or enneadic years.

〔四十〕凡拥有土星在射手的人，会陷入危险与许多疾病，从父亲或母亲的资财中什么也得不到。他们会处在极大的损失与忧虑之中，靠自己的努力得到极大的资财之后，又以可悲的挥霍再失去这份资财。他们陷入种种疾病与病患，每当来到七数之年或九数之年，一生之中都会有危险之险。

[41] But they are freed from these dangers in the easiest ways. And when Saturn has entered the square places of the nativity, that is, when it has entered the degree of the Midheaven or of the lower Midheaven, it will make certain vanities in the mind, will make turmoils and domestic dissensions and hardships, will make losses, custody, lawsuits, losses of property, hardships, and sorrows. But when it is in Pisces, then it will give the beginnings of felicity, and when it has made a station in that same sign, it decrees the insignia of life and glory and bestows an increase of patrimony.

[42] But when it has come to Gemini and Cancer, then it will be contrary to him in every respect. When it has come to Sagittarius and Capricorn and Aquarius, it decrees turmoils and seditions. When it has come to Pisces a second time, it will make them renowned again, and all that they lost they recover with the greatest increase of means.

〔四十二〕但当它来到双子与巨蟹时，就会在各方面与他相逆。当它来到射手、摩羯与水瓶时，就判定骚乱与暴动。当它第二次来到双鱼时，会使他们再度显赫，他们会以资财的极大增长收回所失去的一切。

[43] But those who have Saturn so in the Ascendant are never allotted virgins as wives, and they are always allotted three wives, and they will always have constant griefs from the misfortunes of their children. But if Jupiter has aspected Saturn placed in Sagittarius with no aspect, it will give neither wives nor children. They will certainly have grave pains on account of a woman or for a woman's sake, and in water or near water they meet grave perils of life.

〔四十三〕但上升点里这样拥有土星的人，从不会分得处女为妻，他们总会分得三个妻子，并总会因子女的不幸而不断悲痛。但倘若木星没有以任何相位照着落在射手的土星，就既不给妻子，也不给子女。他们当然会因一个女人或为了一个女人而有严重的痛苦，会在水中或水边遭遇严重的性命之险。

Saturn in Capricorn.

[44] Whoever have Saturn in Capricorn, in the tropical degrees, of course, all their substance and all their fate will change through constant overthrow. For as often as they have come to the highest step of felicity, so often do they slip down by some deceptive means, and they will be held in the unevennesses of misfortune for as long as Saturn takes to complete the first circuit of its course, or for as long as it has paid out the power of its own time.

〔四十四〕凡拥有土星在摩羯、当然是在回归之度里的人，他们的全部资财与全部命运都会因不断的倾覆而更易。因为他们每一次到达幸福的最高一级，就每一次以某种欺骗的方式滑落下来；在土星走完它运行的第一周所需的那段时间里，或在它付尽自己时运之力的那段时间里，他们都会被不幸的起伏所困。

[45] And they will go through these perils of life for as long as Saturn is passing through Gemini and Cancer. They will certainly be such as are believed to have the greatest supports of means, but nothing great in deposit [lacuna], but, having the reputation of riches, they are worn down by domestic straits; their father's and mother's substance too will be squandered. And whatever they have received they lose at this time in various ways, and they will diminish all their substance.

[46] They will also be placed in journeys abroad and in sicknesses, and they will have perils of life in the 5th, the 7th, and the 9th years of age, especially when this number of years has been tripled. For then they will be in sicknesses, in losses, in turmoils, in pains, in injuries. They will also be sunk in the greatest unhappiness unless they have been relieved by the protection of the benefic planets. For then there will be misfortunes, then want, and all the other things we have mentioned, if the protection of no benefic planets has broken the onslaught of these evils. And they will be in these evils for as long as it takes Saturn, having entered its own places, to come to the right trine.

[47] But placed in Capricorn, when it has come to Gemini and to Cancer, it decrees in every way the hardships of all contrarieties. But when it is in Leo and is in the same degree that it occupies in Capricorn [probably: "in the same degree in which the Sun is placed"] [text uncertain], then it decrees the greatest activities and increases of prosperous felicity. But placed in this sign it does not give a virgin as a wife either, but always separates this same wife either by divorce or by death. And whatever women were first betrothed to them, it does not allow these same [lacuna] or to remain in marriage. They will be allotted wives debauched by others. But they get children by two women, yet they will have griefs from the constant deaths of their children, or children are denied them forever.

[48] They will have pains and ill health either in the extremities of the body or in the hidden and private parts. But they meet the greatest storms of life and the greatest dangers when Saturn has entered Cancer. But when it has made its passage to Leo, freed from these storms, they obtain the tranquil gladness of fair weather together with the greatest increase of felicity. For then Saturn bestows rest, then increases of money, then substance, then health, then gladness, then a right order of life, with all misfortunes laid to rest.

[49] Whoever have Saturn in Aquarius will be cast down in early life, and whatever they have received from their father they lose. And whatever they first had they squander with the same rending, and then by themselves and through their own efforts they advance from great activities. They will have the greatest storms of life from sicknesses, but they are freed from all of them. There will be perils of dangers in the hebdomadic and enneadic years up to the 43rd year of age.

〔四十九〕凡拥有土星在水瓶的人，早年会被打落，凡从父亲那里得到的都会失去。凡他们最初拥有的，也以同样的撕扯挥霍掉，然后他们自己、凭自己的努力，从重大的作为中进展。他们会因疾病而有一生最大的风暴，却会从这一切中解脱。在七数之年与九数之年，直到四十三岁，都会有危险之险。

[50] At this time there will be the greatest dangers; there will be sicknesses, there will be lawsuits, there will be terrors, there will be journeys abroad, there will be such humiliations that they come to the harm of captivity and slavery; there will be straits, there will be labors. But all these things will be such that they come close to the likeness of a wretched death. But after all these perils, if Jupiter and Venus are well placed in the nativity, they obtain glory, gains, and the insignia of rank. They will also have either a defect or ill health, or a conspicuous scar from fire and iron.

〔五十〕在这个时候会有极大的危险；会有疾病，会有诉讼，会有恐惧，会有远行，会有这样的屈辱，以致落到被俘与为奴的损害；会有窘迫，会有劳苦。但这一切都会是这样的，以致接近悲惨之死的样子。但在这一切危险之后，倘若木星与金星在本命盘里落位良好，他们会得到荣耀、收益与品级的徽章。他们还会有某种缺损或病患，或火与铁造成的显眼疤痕。

[51] And whatever wives they have been allotted by law will be useless, and such as live contrary to the order of law. But they will labor under these hardships until Saturn has come into the sign of Leo. For before it has come to Leo it diminishes the patrimony. Then it decrees losses, then injuries, then vanities, then deaths of household members, then such misfortunes that men, shaken by a succession of evils, vehemently attempt to bring death upon themselves.

〔五十一〕他们依法分得的无论哪个妻子，都会无用，是违背法律秩序而生活的那种女人。但他们会受这些困苦，直到土星来到狮子这个星座。因为在它来到狮子之前，它减少祖产。那时它判定损失，那时伤害，那时虚妄，那时家人的死亡，那时判定如此大的不幸，以致人们被接连的祸患所动摇，竭力要自己寻死。

[52] And when it is in the square sides, it decrees these same things in a like manner, so that these hardships of evils grow day by day. Then there are griefs from the death of kinsmen, then a cold time, then there will be the wretched hardships of poverty, especially if, with Saturn placed in the square places, the 7th or the 9th years of age come upon them. For then there will be custody, disgraces, beggary, the filth of uncut hair, especially if Saturn placed in Aquarius is itself the lord of the times.

[53] Many, however, [lacuna] so that in the temples themselves they are entangled in toilsome activities. But from these very activities they are afflicted with various perils, so that they cannot easily escape; and so placed they will find no road to felicity, but they will spend everything, and they will perhaps be pleading public cases. But if, with Saturn so placed, Jupiter has been found in the necessary places of the nativity, they are withdrawn, in the times in which the dangers fall, either by flight or by long journeys abroad.

[54] But when Saturn has fulfilled all these things, and when they have run through the greatest part of life amid these evils, then, gradually freed from misfortunes, they raise their necks, and, with all the squalor of filth wiped away, they are clothed in the honorable garb of rank, taking counsel for themselves and raising their life step by step; and they establish themselves in such dignity of patrimony that the rule and governance of men too is committed to them. They will be glorious, having the insignia of the greatest power, set over regions and peoples with the license of power, so that an everlasting memory of their rank is left in public places and cities.

[55] Then they will be joined in the favor of friendship with powerful men, then with kings, according to the measure of the nativity; then they will obtain gifts, then places in the temples, then priesthoods; then they receive gladness, then the fruits of riches; then they will possess the ownership of servants, then of estates, then of men and women; then movable goods, then money will be conferred on them, and they will be wealthy with such riches that they sustain others too by their means. Then all their kin are relieved by the protection of their defense. But when they have felt the advantages of this felicity, and when they have been abundantly supplied with a magnificent affluence of riches and have reaped the fruits of those same riches, they will die in old age with a good reputation.

[56] Whoever have Saturn in Pisces will possess neither the father's nor the mother's substance, and, all their property lost, they are left bare. And whatever they have possessed in early life in any way, this too they lose with wretched rending. But by themselves, carrying out great activities, they seek the greatest means of substance. They will also have the greatest sicknesses and the greatest perils, especially when they have entered the seventh or the ninth years, that is, the hebdomadic or the enneadic, and the succession of dangers extends up to the 33rd year of age.

〔五十六〕凡拥有土星在双鱼的人，既不会占有父亲的资财，也不会占有母亲的资财，一切财物都失去之后，被剥得赤裸。凡他们早年以任何方式占有的，也以可悲的撕扯失去。但他们自己做出大事，求得极大的资财。他们还会有极大的疾病与极大的危险，尤其是当他们进入第七或第九年，即七数之年或九数之年时；危险的接续一直延伸到三十三岁。

[57] And in these dangers there will not only be sicknesses, but also lawsuits and accusations conceived without cause and without reason; there will be turmoils and sudden seditions, constant torments of the soul, unexpected dangers in the waters, and dissensions with women. Nor will whatever wives they are first allotted be of benefit to them. Nor does Saturn placed in Pisces decree virgins as wives; and when in its circuit it is in all the angles of the nativity, it will cause them to be entangled in the greatest difficulties and the greatest contrarieties, especially when placed in the first circuit of its course.

[58] But until it has completed 30 years and has entered the spans of the second period of life, Saturn decrees the hardships of evils. But when it has come to Cancer, then it decrees better times for them. And when it has entered the sign of Leo, then it sets their affairs right; then they will obtain glory, then patrimony, then the greatest honors; then a prosperous outcome will follow all their activities; then trust and the affairs of great men will be entrusted to them, and from this administration they obtain increases of patrimony.

[59] In the extremities of the body or in a hidden part of the body [lacuna] they will also have constant pains in those very parts, and they will also have very great scars from iron. And they will have constant griefs from the misfortunes of their children. But when Saturn has shaken them with the storm of the earlier time, then it decrees gladness for them both from their children and from the favor of marriage, according to the measure and substance of the nativity, which the other planets have decreed by their authority.
