[1] Since we have stated the decrees of the Ascendant partilely, let us now explain what the planets placed in the individual signs [lacuna] I shall make known partilely in whatever place, lest, when a malignant reader has taken up our books, he should say that we, with the hissing of envy, have withheld something from you.

Saturn in Aries.

[2] In whosever nativity Saturn has been found in Aries, it will cause him in early life to be entangled in evil and unhappy activities, and it will always hinder him in everything. And when Saturn has completed the first circuit of its course, that is, the first 30 years, it diminishes the father's and the mother's substance, and whatever means he has received from them he will always either diminish or lose, and he will be wearied by constant losses and frequent damages; but after it has taken away the means of his former substance, with the passage of time it will cause another substance of patrimony to be conferred on him.

[3] They will certainly be sickly and in danger, meeting grave perils of dangers in the hebdomadic or the enneadic years, and they will be overwhelmed by these dangers if at that very time they have not been freed by the protection of any benefic planet, and if Saturn itself is the lord of the nativity. In early life he will be at variance with his wife, and they will disagree in quarrels [text uncertain]. Let them by all means avoid marriage with a virgin. For his wife is soon separated from him either by sudden death or by divorce. Saturn so placed will give a wife late, or a corrupted wife, or a widow, or one debauched by another, or one who has had children by another husband, and whom the stain of some disgrace defames.

But it decrees a wife at the time when Saturn in its transit (parodicus, that is, temporal) has seen the Moon from square, or when the Sun from Leo or Sagittarius has aspected Saturn with a trine aspect. For with Saturn so placed, whatever wife he has been allotted will be compliant to him and will remain with him with unbroken affection up to the last span of life.

[4] He will also obtain children whenever Saturn has been found in the same manner we have described, and he will receive offspring prosperously if, with Saturn placed in Aries, Jupiter has aspected the Moon with any aspect. But if this is not so, he will either lose the offspring he has received, or at any rate offspring is never decreed for him. But if Saturn has returned to Aries from another place, it decrees a grave ruin of dangers and exasperates his brothers with the bitter hatreds of enmity.

Saturn in Taurus.

[5] If Saturn has been found in Taurus, those who have it so grow by their own strength in all their activities, but whatever they have received in early life they will diminish; by their own efforts they seek great means of substance for themselves, but in early youth they are weighed down by various unevennesses, they will be subject to others, and will flatter more powerful men out of necessity. In early life they will have difficult times, in those times they are wearied by grave illnesses, and they will suffer the straits of life through want of necessities. In early life too they will suffer from the ulcerations of inflamed wounds, they are bound by certain defects, and very great ones, and, weighed down by great sicknesses and then freed from these perils of hardship, they attain long spans of life.

[6] All their father's substance will be squandered, and they obtain nothing from either the father's or the mother's substance; but by their own efforts they always recover, by their own labors, both other means and the remnants of the mother's substance. But Saturn so placed causes the mother, through the loss of the patrimony, to be weighed down by the straits of poverty, and makes her come to the straits of beggary, unless the star of Venus, lending testimony to Saturn with good aspects, has relieved the mother's hardships of misfortune. Nor does the testimony of Venus alone suffice for this, unless in the nativity the Moon too has aspected Venus with a prosperous aspect. They themselves certainly attain the greatest insignia of felicity by their own strength and their own deserving, but they are weighed down by the burden of misfortune for as long as Saturn takes to complete the first circuit of its course.

[7] Dangers will be brought upon them from lawsuits, or from sicknesses, or from journeys abroad. They will have a grave danger in the 9th year, or the 14th, or the 25th, or the 32nd; but if at the time of the dangers they have been relieved by the protection of the benefic planets, they escape the peril of impending ruin and receive a span of life up to the 43rd or up to the 53rd year. For in those times they will be beset by plots, losses, and lawsuits. But if the benefic planets hold the times then, at the time of the dangers they are freed from all these dangers.

〔七〕危险会从诉讼、或从疾病、或从远行降临到他们身上。他们会在第九年、或第十四年、或第二十五年、或第三十二年有严重的危险；但倘若在危险之时他们因吉星的护佑而得到救助，他们就逃过迫近的毁灭之险，得到直到第四十三年或直到第五十三年的寿限。因为在那些时候，他们会被算计、损失与诉讼所困。但倘若那时吉星掌握时运，他们在危险之时就从这一切危险中得到解脱。

[8] But Saturn never allows them to take wives before 32 years, nor will virgins be given them as wives. If such are given, they will get from them ruined children, estranged from their affections. But they will be fortunate in being allotted foreign wives or wives debauched by others. But wives will be given them when, after 30 years, Saturn enters Cancer, or is placed in Virgo or in Capricorn.

〔八〕但土星从不让他们在三十二岁之前娶妻，处女也不会许配给他们作妻子。倘若许配了，他们会从她们那里得到败坏的、与他们的情意疏远的子女。但他们若分得外邦的妻子或被别人玷污的妻子，会是幸运的。而妻子会在这样的时候给他们：三十岁之后，土星进入巨蟹，或落在处女或摩羯。

Saturn in Gemini.

[9] If Saturn has been found in Gemini, it will shake early life with dangers and sicknesses, and will make it difficult to be freed from all perils. Those perils will certainly be the more dangerous which have been inflicted in the hebdomadic and enneadic years. Whoever has Saturn found so in his nativity will have dangerous times up to 23 years. Let him beware of sicknesses in these years, especially when Mars is in the square sides of this sign. For he will have disturbances, quarrels, sicknesses, and contrarieties, and he will often be engaged in great labors.

〔九〕倘若土星被发现在双子，它会以危险与疾病动摇早年，并使他难以从一切危险中解脱。在七数之年与九数之年所加的危险当然会更危险。无论谁的本命盘里土星被发现这样落位，他直到二十三岁都会有危险的时日。他在这些年里要提防疾病，尤其是当火星在这个星座的四分之边时。因为他会有骚乱、争执、疾病与种种违逆，并常常身处大劳苦之中。

[10] He will obtain nothing great from either the father's or the mother's substance, but by his own strength he will obtain all the increases of rank and of patrimony. But he will be weighed down by the burdens of toil and misfortune for as long as Saturn passes through Cancer, Libra, Aries, and their squares. But he will make progress in everything when Saturn has finished its first station in Leo or in Capricorn. Saturn placed in Gemini will also make defects, and in lawsuits and disputes it decrees the greatest adversaries. It also makes both swift and frequent losses of the patrimony, so that he is frequently tossed about in life by various conflicts; and when he has come to the extreme perils of life, afterward it causes him to be placed in great affairs by the command of some authority, and he will move among renowned and powerful men by reason of his honor. He will certainly be renowned and noble in all his activities, and he will travel constantly and be carried to various regions.

[11] But a virgin will not be given to him as a wife. And if the testimony of Jupiter perhaps gives him a virgin as a wife, he will be parted from her either by divorce or by the peril of death. He will certainly be without children or will get one son. But when Saturn has come to the sign of Scorpio, then he will be fortunate, glorious, and moneyed. And then too he will be allotted a widow as a wife, with whom he will remain to the last day without any quarrel of discord.

〔十一〕但处女不会许配给他作妻子。倘若木星的见证或许给了他一个处女作妻子，他会或因离婚、或因死亡之险而与她分开。他当然会没有子女，或得到一个儿子。但当土星来到天蝎这个星座，那时他会幸运、荣耀、有钱。那时他也会分得一个寡妇作妻子，与她相守到最后一天，没有任何不和的争吵。

[12] Many things will also be entrusted to him, and he will pay out many, and he will have many quarrels with more powerful men and will be endangered by those very quarrels, unless the star of Jupiter, running well in the nativity at that time, has mitigated the perils of these dangers. For those who have Saturn so will always be opposed to great and powerful men, always attaching to themselves the support of their inferiors, and they will frequently be placed in free custody. They will let their hair grow on account of some trouble in a friendship, or on account of the misfortune of a death or the wretched torments of some loss. But when they have been shaken by various perils of dangers, then they are lifted up by an increase of prosperous felicity, so that they obtain both praises and patrimonies, and so that a sudden inheritance comes to them. For then they will obtain riches and the ownership of very great estates.

Saturn in Cancer.

[13] If Saturn has been found in Cancer, those who have it so will be entangled in seditions, in lawsuits, and in many contrarieties, and whatever they have obtained from father or mother they always lose by wretched rending; but by their own strength and their own virtue they will obtain the greatest substance, and their life will be such that they are always both seeking and losing. They will have dangers from some disturbance or from sicknesses, but in the hebdomadic and in the enneadic years, until they have passed the 23rd year of age.

〔十三〕倘若土星被发现在巨蟹，这样拥有它的人会陷入暴动、诉讼与许多违逆之中，他们从父亲或母亲那里得到的一切，总以可悲的撕扯失去；但他们凭自己的力量与自己的德行会得到极大的资财，他们的生活会是这样：总在求取，也总在失去。他们会因某种骚乱或疾病而有危险，但在七数之年与九数之年里，直到他们过了二十三岁。

[14] For up to this age they will be wearied by the greatest dangers. But if at the time of the dangers the benefic planets have held the dominion of the times, or have aspected Saturn or the lord of the nativity with a prosperous aspect, or if a benefic planet is lady of the nativity and is well placed, the perils of the oncoming dangers are mitigated. But if at the time of the dangers, as we have said, the nativity has been helped by the benefic planets, there will be losses of parents or of brothers, or damages from the conflicts of lawsuits, but he himself will be freed from all dangers. But when Saturn is placed in its own houses, then it decrees on a constant principle losses, then storms, then dangers, then sicknesses, then lawsuits. And if it has been found in the opposites of its houses, it decrees these same things in a like manner.

〔十四〕因为直到这个年岁，他们都会被极大的危险所困。但倘若在危险之时吉星掌握了时主之权，或以顺遂的相位照着土星或本命之主，或倘若一颗吉星是本命之女主而落位良好，迫近的危险就会减轻。但倘若在危险之时，如我们所说，本命盘得到吉星的帮助，会有父母或兄弟的丧失，或诉讼冲突的亏耗，但他本人会从一切危险中解脱。但当土星落在自己的庙里时，它就以不变的道理判定损失、风暴、危险、疾病、诉讼。倘若它被发现在自己庙的对面，也以同样的方式判定这些。

[15] But when it is in Gemini, it will harass them and entangle them in sudden anxieties and dangers. For then it both proclaims misfortunes and will shake them with a succession of these evils for as long as it is passing through the sign of Cancer. For when Saturn has come into the tropical degrees of Cancer, then it will bring about loss of the patrimony and will place them in such straits that the humanity of others sustains them. Then there will be turmoils, then seditions, then various perils of life. But when Saturn has passed the tropical degrees of Cancer, the preceding evils are gently laid to rest, so that they are separated both from anxieties and from dangers.

〔十五〕但当它在双子时，会搅扰他们，使他们陷入突然的忧虑与危险。因为那时它既宣告不幸，又会在它经过巨蟹这个星座的整段时间里，以这些祸患的接续动摇他们。因为当土星来到巨蟹的回归之度时，就会造成祖产的损失，把他们置于如此窘境，以致要靠他人的仁慈维持。那时会有骚乱，那时有暴动，那时有种种性命之险。但当土星经过了巨蟹的回归之度，先前的祸患就会轻轻平息，以致他们与忧虑、危险都隔开了。

[16] And their first wife will never remain with them, nor does a prosperous outcome ever follow them in their first contracts. For in early life they are joined in some way or other to inferior or degenerate women, but afterward they shut out these same women by a constant judgment of the mind. But if Saturn placed in this sign has had the Moon with it, or has aspected it with a strong aspect, it will deny children, and they will be disfigured by some foulness of complexion, colored by an abundance of black bile, and constantly contracting troubles from black bile. They will certainly be despaired of in sicknesses and will recover with difficulty after sicknesses.

[17] They will be simple of soul, humane, compassionate, relieving the straits of others, taking on the patrimonies of others and having from them the supports of life. They will also be fathers of other men's children, will have hidden defects, and will be endowed with such rank that they seem to be the masters even of their own brothers. They will certainly be wealthy and moneyed, known to many powerful men, slow in all their activities and unwilling to be quickly applied to public occupations, removed from all servitude, and, adorned with the splendors of an honorable and divine soul, they spend their life always in prosperous ways.

〔十七〕他们会心地单纯、仁厚、慈悲，救助他人的窘迫，接手他人的祖产，并从中得到生活之助。他们还会做别人孩子的父亲，会有隐秘的缺损，并被赋予这样的品级，以致他们看起来连自己兄弟的主人都是。他们当然富有、有钱，为许多有权势的人所知，在一切作为上迟缓，不愿很快投身于公共营生，远离一切奴役，以高尚而神圣的灵魂之光彩为饰，总以顺遂的方式度过一生。

Saturn in Leo.

[18] Whoever have Saturn in Leo in their nativity will be assailed by constant envy. In the first years of life they will have strength. At times, destined for renowned and glorious activities, they will obtain from those very activities the greatest insignia and receive the ornaments of the greatest felicity. At times they will be separated from these activities, and even left without any administration. But from their parents they either receive nothing, or, if they have received anything, they lose it. In early life and in early youth they will be sickly, in danger, and entangled in many occupations; they will also suffer certain torments of the body and be wearied by pains in the extremities of the body. And they will have hidden defects or hidden pains.

〔十八〕凡本命盘里土星在狮子的人，会受到不断的嫉妒攻击。在一生最初的年岁里，他们会有力量。有时，他们被定于显赫荣耀的作为，并从这些作为得到最大的徽章，领受最大幸福的装饰。有时，他们会与这些作为分开，甚至没有任何管理之职。但从父母那里，他们或者什么也得不到，或者得到了什么也会失去。在早年与青年初期，他们会多病、有危险，陷入许多营生；他们还会受身体的某些折磨，被身体末端的疼痛所困。他们会有隐秘的缺损或隐秘的疼痛。

[19] They will never be able to marry virgin wives. If they obtain such by force, they are separated from them in one way or another. But it will profit them to be allotted wives who have already at some time borne children. But for as long as Saturn takes to complete the first circuit of its course, they will obtain neither marriage nor patrimony nor glory. For whatever they have obtained before this time they lose. And Saturn placed in this sign decrees marriage with two wives; for whatever women beyond this number they have come to know by any manner of association, they always either cast off or bury.

〔十九〕他们永远不能娶处女为妻。倘若他们以强力得到了，也会以这样那样的方式与她们分开。但分得已经在某个时候生过孩子的妻子，对他们有益。但在土星走完它运行的第一周所需的那段时间里，他们得不到婚姻、祖产与荣耀。因为他们在这段时间之前所得的一切都会失去。落在这个星座的土星判定与两个妻子的婚姻；因为超出这个数目，他们以任何交往方式结识的女人，他们总是或抛弃、或埋葬。

[20] But they will have griefs from the misfortunes of their children, and if the Moon is either with Saturn or is carried toward it, they will obtain children with difficulty. And whenever Saturn has entered the tropical signs, it then decrees troubles. And when in its circuit it has come into Pisces and into Gemini, it decrees these same things as in the tropical signs. But in the other signs it will be of benefit with the greatest advantages. For then it decrees even the full insignia of glory. In their business affairs, their activities, and their whole life they certainly change constantly; they will sail great rivers and seas and make journeys through desert places, and whatever their parents never dared to do, they accomplish in the easiest ways.

〔二十〕但他们会因子女的不幸而悲痛；倘若月亮或与土星同在，或正行向它，他们会难以得到子女。每当土星进入回归星座，那时就判定困扰。当它在环行中来到双鱼与双子时，也判定与在回归星座里相同的事。但在其他星座里，它会以极大的好处带来益处。因为那时它甚至判定完整的荣耀徽章。在事务、作为与整个一生中，他们当然不断变化；他们会航行大河与大海，穿过荒僻之地旅行，凡他们的父母从不敢做的，他们都以最轻松的方式完成。

[21] They will also have a great many brothers, either by another father or by another mother, but they will be better than all their kin, lifted up by the favor of a most powerful rank. They will certainly be most sensible, hostile to foreigners, hot-tempered, good, benevolent, learned, men who keep incorrupt faith in all contracts, of good counsel, of upright and incorrupt soul, friends of many, and men who accomplish everything with the strongest powers. They will certainly have a scar on some part of the body, and will constantly sustain losses of rank, so that they frequently slip down from a high step of rank by some fall into humiliation [probably: ; and these evils grow stronger when Saturn, into such a sign,] [lacuna] has entered, in which we said it decrees dangers.

〔二十一〕他们还会有非常多的兄弟，或是异父的，或是异母的，但他们会比所有亲族都好，被最有权势的品级之恩抬起。他们当然极其明理，敌视外邦人，易怒，善良，心怀好意，有学问，在一切契约中守着不可败坏的信义，善于谋划，灵魂正直而不可败坏，是许多人的朋友，以最强的力量完成一切。他们当然在身体某处有疤痕，并会不断承受品级的损失，以致常常因某种屈辱的跌落而从品级的高阶滑下〔推测：；而当土星进入这样的星座时，这些恶就更强〕〔此处原文有缺〕进入了，我们说过它在那里判定危险。

[22] They will certainly have substance conferred on them by the generosity of others, but so much that they can relieve the straits of others. They will be defenders of free men, always lending patronage to men in difficulty. And when they have attained all these things, they will die in old age, and their soul will pass to heaven, joined to the gods. For Saturn placed in Leo calls back to heaven, and to the first beginnings of their origin, the souls of those who have so conducted themselves on earth, freed from countless straits.

〔二十二〕他们当然会有因他人的慷慨而授予他们的资财，但多到能救助他人的窘迫。他们会是自由人的护卫者，总为困苦之人提供庇护。当他们得到这一切之后，会在老年死去，他们的灵魂会升到天上，与诸神相结。因为落在狮子的土星，会把在地上这样行事的人的灵魂，从无数的窘迫中解脱出来，召回天上，召回他们本源的最初开端。
