第二十三章

[1] Now I shall set out the masculine and feminine degrees. We ought to know that in all signs, whether of the masculine or of the feminine gender, there are both masculine and feminine degrees. For from these degrees it is found whose nativity it is, a male's or a female's. There are, then, 197 masculine degrees and 163 feminine degrees; and which are masculine in each sign, and which feminine, I shall explain specifically.

〔一〕现在我要列出阳性度与阴性度。我们应当知道，在一切星座里，无论是阳性还是阴性的星座，都既有阳性度，也有阴性度。因为从这些度数可以查出这是谁的本命盘，男人的还是女人的。阳性度共有一百九十七度，阴性度一百六十三度；每个星座里哪些是阳性的，哪些是阴性的，我将专门说明。

[2] Of Aries, from the 1st to the 7th the degrees are masculine, from the 8th to the 12th feminine, again from the 13th to the 16th masculine, from the 17th to the 22nd feminine, from the 23rd to the 30th masculine.

〔二〕白羊，第一度至第七度为阳性度，第八度至第十二度为阴性，又第十三度至第十六度为阳性，第十七度至第二十二度为阴性，第二十三度至第三十度为阳性。

[3] Of Taurus, from the 1st to the 7th the degrees are masculine, from the 8th to the 17th feminine, from the 18th to the 30th masculine.

[4] Of Gemini, from the 1st degree to the 17th masculine, from the 18th to the 23rd feminine, from the 24th to the 30th masculine.

[5] Of Cancer, from the 1st degree to the 2nd the degrees are masculine, from the 3rd to the 7th feminine, from the 8th to the 10th masculine, from the 11th to the 12th feminine, from the 13th to the 18th masculine, from the 19th to the 20th feminine, from the 21st to the 27th masculine, from the 28th to the 30th feminine.

[8] Of Libra, from the 1st to the 5th the degrees are masculine, from the 6th to the 10th feminine, from the 11th to the 21st masculine, from the 22nd to the 28th feminine, from the 29th to the 30th masculine.

[9] Of Scorpio, from the 1st to the 4th the degrees are masculine, from the 5th to the 10th feminine, again from the 11th to the 16th masculine, from the 17th to the 19th feminine, from the 20th to the 27th masculine, from the 28th to the 30th feminine.

[12] Of Aquarius, from the 1st to the 9th the degrees are masculine, again from the 10th to the 12th feminine, from the 13th to the 19th masculine, again from the 20th to the 30th feminine.

[13] Of Pisces, from the 1st degree to the 10th the degrees are masculine, from the 11th to the 20th feminine, from the 21st to the 23rd masculine, from the 24th to the 30th feminine.

[14] Now that all these things have been explained and shown with careful reasoning, our discourse hastens to the end of this book; but since at the beginning of this book we said much about the courses of the Moon, let its later parts too be closed with a like ending, so that the most powerful deity of the Moon may seem to have given this book both its beginning and its end. What the Moon decrees, then, when placed in the angles with the other planets, I shall explain in general with the truest and plainest pronouncements, so that in the fifth book we may lay open, without envy, the remaining secrets of mathesis.

XXIV. The Moon Placed in the Angles with the Other Planets.

[1] If the Moon is partilely with the Sun in the Ascendant, in the signs in which it rejoices or in which it is exalted, or in its own domicile, already freed from the rays of the Sun, it makes the parents adorned with the bright splendor of wealth. It signifies the same thing when placed in like manner with the Sun in the degree of the Midheaven. But if it is placed partilely with the Sun in the Descendant, that is, in the seventh place from the Ascendant, or in the lower Midheaven, it makes the parents either slaves, or wretched, or base-born, or proscribed, or beggars; but it decrees these things according to the quality of the signs or degrees.

〔一〕倘若月亮精确到度地与太阳同在上升点，在它喜乐、或入旺的星座，或在自己的庙，已脱离太阳的光线，就使父母以财富的明亮光彩为饰。同样与太阳落在中天的度数，它也意味着同样的事。但倘若它精确到度地与太阳落在下降点，即从上升点起的第七宫，或在天底，就使父母或为奴隶、或困苦、或出身低贱、或被剥夺公权、或为乞丐；但它依星座或度数的性质判定这些。

[2] But if Mars has aspected the Moon so placed with a threatening aspect and is opposed to both, that is, to the Sun and to the Moon, by a partile aspect, it weakens the body with a grave defect and frequently decrees blindness of the eyes. But if the Sun and the Moon and Mars alike are in the same degrees, it lays low both the parents and the natives themselves in the wretched humility of abasement, and decrees the ruin of a violent death.

〔二〕但倘若火星以威胁的相位照着这样落位的月亮，又以精确到度的相位与两者即太阳和月亮相对，就以严重的缺损削弱身体，并常判定眼睛失明。但倘若太阳、月亮与火星同在相同的度数，就把父母与本命之人自己都击倒在卑下的可悲低微之中，并判定横死的毁灭。

[3] If the Moon is found partilely with Saturn in the Ascendant, it will cause the natives to be the first born or the first reared, but it imposes on the mothers the wretched weight of widowhood, or causes them to be detained in the company of temples, and decrees a grave peril of illness from the necessary or the female parts. It decrees this same thing in the Midheaven too, if it is found partilely with Saturn in this place.

〔三〕倘若月亮被发现精确到度地与土星同在上升点，就会使本命之人是头生的或头一个被养大的，却给母亲加上守寡的可悲重担，或使她们滞留在神庙的群体中，并判定来自必要部位或女性部位的严重疾病之险。倘若在中天也精确到度地与土星同在，它也判定同样的事。

[4] But in the Descendant, that is, in the seventh place from the Ascendant, and in the lower Midheaven, it makes the mother oppressed by the squalor of slavery, and those who are born it makes either captives or separated from their parents; but it decrees these things according to the quality of the signs and degrees.

〔四〕但在下降点即从上升点起的第七宫，以及在天底，它使母亲被奴役的污秽压着，至于出生的人，它或使之被俘，或使之与父母分离；但它依星座与度数的性质判定这些。

[5] If the Moon is placed partilely with Jupiter in the Ascendant, it makes the mother adorned with a splendid lineage of nobility, and the natives themselves religious and in some manner foreknowing the future; they will indeed be famous, noble, and powerful. It decrees this same thing when placed with Jupiter in the degree of the Midheaven too.

〔五〕倘若月亮精确到度地与木星同在上升点，就使母亲以显赫的高贵门第为饰，而使本命之人自己虔敬，并以某种方式预知未来；他们当然会出名、高贵而有权势。与木星同在中天的度数，它也判定同样的事。

[6] But placed partilely with Jupiter in the Descendant, that is, in the seventh place from the Ascendant, and in the lower Midheaven, it will squander the father's means; but afterwards, either through the support of friends or from the inheritances of kinsmen by marriage, they will attain the greatest means of substance. But in all nativities you ought, as we have frequently said, to inspect the power of the degrees and places.

〔六〕但精确到度地与木星落在下降点即从上升点起的第七宫，以及在天底，它会散尽父亲的资财；但后来，或凭朋友的扶持，或凭姻亲的遗产，他们会得到极大的资财。但在一切本命盘里，如我们常说的，你都应当察看度数与宫位的力量。

[7] If the Moon is found partilely with Mars in the Ascendant, it shows a foreign or a disabled mother, and in the natives themselves either the eyes or the stomach are weakened. But if the nativity is by day, it will disable them in the whole body or cuts off a part of the body. It does the same in the degree of the Midheaven too. But if it is found with Mars in the Descendant, that is, in the 7th place from the Ascendant, or in the lower Midheaven, they leave their homeland and dwell in foreign regions.

〔七〕倘若月亮被发现精确到度地与火星同在上升点，就显示母亲是外邦人或残疾，而本命之人自己或眼睛、或胃被削弱。但倘若本命盘是白天的，它会使他们全身残疾，或截去身体的一部分。在中天的度数，它也造成同样的事。但倘若它被发现与火星同在下降点即从上升点起的第七宫，或在天底，他们就离开故乡，住在异乡的地区。

[8] But if Mercury is found with them, it will make brigands, pirates, murderers, plunderers of temples, sacrilegious men, men who always incur the charge of forgery and who for all these crimes are punished by public chastisement; but everything, as we have frequently said, is decreed according to the quality of the signs.

〔八〕但倘若水星被发现与它们同在，就会造就盗匪、海盗、杀人者、劫掠神庙者、亵渎神明者，总招来伪造罪名的人，并因所有这些罪行受公开的惩处；但一切，如我们常说的，依星座的性质判定。

[9] And if Saturn has aspected them with any aspect, they are bound in public custody, in the public prison, and in the public bonds of chains, so that the unshorn filth of their hair always disfigures them; and it places them in such need that they beg food from their enemies; others, continuing in custody and in chains, complete the term of their life. But if Jupiter has aspected all these in any degree, it causes them to be assigned to servile duties in temples.

[10] If the Moon is found partilely with Venus in the Ascendant or in the Midheaven, it will make men well known, noble, and men on whom the greatest insignia of power are conferred. But in the Descendant, that is, in the 7th place from the Ascendant, and in the lower Midheaven, a humble lineage of the mother is shown, but these are men who never lack anything for the whole support of life; yet in early life they are always assailed by various infamy. Indeed, in all signs and places, if the Moon is found with Venus, it makes men husbands of two sisters, or women wives of two brothers, or it unites kinsmen by marriage in the bond of matrimony.

[11] If the Moon is found partilely with Mercury in the Ascendant or in the Midheaven, it will make men famous and noble by grace of their learning, and fit for every duty of business. But if it is found in the Descendant, that is, in the 7th place from the Ascendant, or in the lower Midheaven, it decrees occupations with things entrusted, and the duties of money-lending and of accounts. Let it suffice for us to have said these things briefly in the last parts of the book; for this last discourse has worked to recall to your memory the effect of all the preceding discussions and of all [lacuna]

〔十一〕倘若月亮被发现精确到度地与水星同在上升点或中天，就会使人凭学问的恩宠出名而高贵，适合一切经营事务的职责。但倘若它被发现在下降点即从上升点起的第七宫，或在天底，就判定经手寄托之物的作为，以及放贷与账目的职务。让我们在这一卷的最后部分简要说这些就够了；因为这最后的论述所做的，是把前面一切讨论和一切〔此处原文有缺〕的效应唤回你的记忆。
