XIII. On the Moon.

第十三章　论月亮

[1] The Moon placed partilely in the Ascendant in a night nativity, if it has been found full and in the signs in which it rejoices, decrees great increases of fortune; it causes the native to be set above his brothers, always both in age and in merit. But if it has been found partilely in this place by day, it will make helmsmen of larger ships.

〔一〕月亮在夜间的本命盘里精确地落在上升点，倘若被发现是满月、又在它所喜乐的星座里，就判定好运的大增长；它使本命之人总在年龄与功绩上都居于兄弟之上。但倘若它在白天被发现精确地在这个宫位，就会造就较大船只的舵手。

[2] But if, with the Moon so placed by day, Mars and Saturn have occupied another angle of the nativity, that is, if they have been found in square or in opposition or with it, they will make pirates notorious for the cruel savagery of their ferocity, or overseers and judges of inaccessible places. But if no benefic planet has aspected the Moon so placed with the malefics, it will cause those who are born to be exposed, or decrees no span of life and will make them perish at once, or decrees an evil end of life and a violent death.

〔二〕但倘若月亮在白天这样落位时，火星和土星占住本命的另一角，即倘若它们被发现在四分、或对冲、或与它同在，就会造就以凶暴残忍出名的海盗，或难以到达之地的主管与法官。但倘若没有吉星照着这样与凶星一同落位的月亮，就会使出生的人被遗弃，或不判给任何寿数而使他们立即死去，或判定恶劣的结局与横死。

[3] The Moon placed in the second place from the Ascendant in a night nativity will make men illustrious and conspicuous in their actions, but luxurious and given to the agreeable pleasures of delights, and men on whom a greater substance of patrimony is conferred in the course of time.

〔三〕月亮在夜间的本命盘里落在从上升点起的第二宫，会使人显赫，在事务上引人注目，却奢侈，沉溺于宜人的享乐，随着时间推移被赐予更多的祖产资财。

[4] But if it has been found in this place by day, it either destroys the parents at once, or separates the native himself from his parents, or causes the parents to be parted by the dissolution of their marriage and the substance of the patrimony to be diminished by various kinds of losses; others who have the Moon so are occupied in continual travels abroad and divide their actions among many places; but it makes their life such that it is subject to some power. But if in this place it is waning in light and Saturn has been placed in the degree or in the sign of the Ascendant, it brings about blindness through sudden wounds of the eyes. But if, with the Moon so placed, Mars has been found in the degree or in the sign of the Ascendant, it will cause pains of the joints, or dislocations, or fractures; others it weakens with the persistence of a hemorrhoidal ailment.

〔四〕但倘若它在白天被发现在这个宫位，它或者立即毁掉父母，或者使本命之人自己与父母分离，或者使父母因婚姻解除而分开，使祖产资财因种种损失而减少；另一些这样得月亮的人忙于不断的旅居异乡，把自己的事务分散在许多地方；但它使他们的生活受某种权力辖制。但倘若它在这个宫位光亏，而土星落在上升点的度数或星座里，就会经由眼睛的突然受伤造成失明。但倘若月亮这样落位时，火星被发现在上升点的度数或星座里，就会造成关节疼痛、或脱臼、或骨折；另一些人它以痔疮之病的缠绵不去使之衰弱。

[5] The Moon placed in the third place from the Ascendant will make the mother ignoble or defiled by some stain of infamy. But if it has been found in this place with Jupiter, it supplies those who have it so with sustenance from the fiscal or from the public grain supplies. But if, with Jupiter and the Moon placed in this place, Mercury has joined itself by some aspect, it makes high priests of some very great goddess, or priests of a most powerful religion, or managers or overseers of public [lacuna]. But if Venus has been found with the Moon in this place, they will have occupations concerned with pigments and spices, or with wine, or with flowers.

〔五〕月亮落在从上升点起的第三宫，会使母亲出身卑微，或被某种恶名的污点玷污。但倘若它与木星一同被发现在这个宫位，就从国库或公共粮赋中供给这样得它的人给养。但倘若木星与月亮落在这个宫位时，水星以某种相位与它们相结，就会造就某位极伟大女神的大祭司，或极有力宗教的祭司，或公共〔此处原文有缺〕的经管者或主管。但倘若金星与月亮一同被发现在这个宫位，他们会从事与颜料香料、或酒、或花卉有关的营生。

[6] But if in a night nativity the Moon has been found in this place with Saturn alone, it will make men slow, who attain nothing of the things they desire, who utter sacrilegious words about all religions, and on whom the greatest misfortunes are brought by the anger of the gods. But if by day the Moon has been found in this place with Mercury and Mars, they will produce sacrilegious men, robbers of temples, unjust, impious, irreligious men, and murderers.

〔六〕但倘若在夜间的本命盘里月亮只与土星一同被发现在这个宫位，就会使人迟缓，所欲之事一无所得，对一切宗教口出亵渎之言，诸神的愤怒给他们带来极大的不幸。但倘若在白天月亮与水星和火星一同被发现在这个宫位，它们就会产生亵渎者、盗窃神庙者、不义、不虔、不敬神的人与杀人者。

[7] The Moon placed in the fourth place from the Ascendant, that is, in the lower Midheaven, if it has been found so by day, decrees an ignoble mother, and one who leaves her husband surviving her. And if Saturn too has been found in another angle of the nativity and Venus is in the Descendant, the mother is transferred from free birth to slavery and will at some time become a captive. But if the Moon has been found in this place by night, full of light, it will make the mother noble and rich, and will cause the natives themselves to be raised up greatly by continual increases of riches.

〔七〕月亮落在从上升点起的第四宫，即地底中天，倘若在白天被发现这样，就判定母亲出身卑微，并且先于丈夫去世。倘若土星也被发现在本命的另一角，而金星在下降点，母亲就会从自由身分沦为奴隶，某时会成为俘虏。但倘若月亮在夜间被发现在这个宫位、光满，就会使母亲高贵富有，并使本命之人自己因财富的不断增长而大大发达。

[8] But if, with the Sun placed partilely in the Ascendant, the Moon has been found in the fourth place, that is, in the lower Midheaven, [lacuna] they will receive increases of good fortune; some it compels to worship the greatest religions, to others it causes the affairs of women to be entrusted. But if it has been found so by day, it will make men wanderers and ignoble, whose lives are shaken by wanderings and dangers; for some it decrees ignoble offices in the temples, others it makes perform servile ministries in the temples, especially if a malefic planet has aspected the Moon so placed.

〔八〕但倘若太阳精确地落在上升点，而月亮被发现在第四宫，即地底中天，〔此处原文有缺〕他们会得到好运的增长；有些人它迫使去敬奉最伟大的宗教，对另一些人它使女人的事务托付给他们。但倘若它在白天被发现这样，就会使人四处漂泊、出身卑微，一生被漂泊与危险动摇；对有些人它判定神庙里卑贱的职事，另一些人它使之在神庙里做奴仆的差役，尤其是倘若一颗凶星照着这样落位的月亮。

[9] The Moon placed in the tenth place from the Ascendant, that is, in the Midheaven, if in a night nativity it has been found partilely in this place in those signs in which it is exalted or in which it rejoices, with waxing light of course, and Jupiter protects it with favorable aspects, will make very great emperors, or powerful administrators to whom the power of life and death is readily entrusted; so placed it also gives ordinary consulships. But if it precedes or follows the degree of the Midheaven, yet is placed in the nearest place and in neighboring degrees, it will produce generals, tribunes, and administrators; but if it has been placed platically in the same sign in which the Midheaven is, it renders men great in all their actions and adorned with various kinds of good fortune. But if the Moon so placed is moving toward Saturn, or Saturn has occupied another angle of the nativity, it frequently decrees envy and misfortunes.

〔九〕月亮落在从上升点起的第十宫，即中天，倘若在夜间的本命盘里被发现精确地在这个宫位、在它得旺或所喜乐的星座里，当然是光正盈长，而木星以吉利的相位护卫它，就会造就极伟大的皇帝，或有权势的行政官，生杀之权轻易地托付给他们；这样落位，它还给予正任执政官之职。但倘若它在中天之度的前面或后面，却落在最近之处、在相邻的度数里，就会产生将领、军团长与行政官；但倘若它概略地落在中天所在的同一星座里，就使人在一切事务上伟大，以种种好运为饰。但倘若这样落位的月亮行向土星，或土星占住本命的另一角，它就常常判定嫉恨与不幸。

[10] But the Moon placed in the Midheaven by day will make men middling in life and in all their actions, and men who are accustomed to be deceived on frequent occasions. But if, with the Moon so placed by day, the Sun has been found partilely in the Ascendant in its own house, or in its exaltation, or in the house of Jupiter, it will make great administrators of the greatest provinces or of the greatest cities, proconsuls, but fearsome in their very administration; but if, with the Moon and the Sun so placed, that is, the Sun in the Ascendant in the signs we have mentioned and the Moon in the Midheaven, Jupiter has protected both alike, or one of the two, with a favorable aspect, it will make emperors mighty in good fortune and justice, and men whom all look up to with trembling and awe.

〔十〕但月亮在白天落在中天，会使人在生活与一切事务上都平平，惯于屡次受骗。但倘若月亮在白天这样落位时，太阳被发现精确地在上升点、在它自己的庙、或在它的旺、或在木星的庙里，就会造就极大行省或极大城市的大行政官、行省总督，但在施政中令人生畏；但倘若月亮与太阳这样落位，即太阳在上升点、在我们所说的那些星座里，月亮在中天，而木星以吉利的相位同样护卫两者、或其中之一，就会造就以好运与正义而强大的皇帝，以及众人以战栗与敬畏仰望的人。

[11] The Moon placed in the 11th place from the Ascendant decrees those things which, in the preceding explanation, we showed that it does in the fifth place from the Ascendant.

〔十一〕月亮落在从上升点起的第十一宫，判定我们在前面的解释中说明它在从上升点起的第五宫所做的那些事。

[12] The Moon placed in the 12th place from the Ascendant in a night nativity decrees a short time and span of life; but if Jupiter and Venus, or one of the two, have been found partilely in the Ascendant, and the Moon is placed as we have said, and the nativity is by night, it decrees the free exercise of some power, together with good fortune. But if, with Mars and Saturn, or one of the two, placed partilely in the Ascendant, the Moon has occupied the 12th place of the nativity, it will bring many and evil misfortunes, grave mishaps, ailments, and defects, to the native and to the mother alike.

〔十二〕月亮在夜间的本命盘里落在从上升点起的第十二宫，判定短促的时日与寿数；但倘若木星与金星、或两者之一被发现精确地在上升点，而月亮如我们所说那样落位，本命又是夜间的，就判定可以自由行使某种权力，并伴着好运。但倘若火星与土星、或两者之一精确地落在上升点，而月亮占住本命的第十二宫，就会给本命之人与母亲同样带来许多恶劣的不幸、严重的灾祸、病患与缺损。

[13] But if, with no planet placed in the Ascendant, it has been found alone by day in the 12th place from the Ascendant, it decrees loss of patrimony, wretched occupations, and life abroad. But if it has been found in this place by night in a like manner, it will make men wretched and lowly, or will cause them to be born of a lowly or servile family, and men who toil and are always occupied in inglorious actions, and whose body or mouth is fouled by the grave unpleasantness of a smell, but men who are accustomed frequently to be deceived and to run into danger, and who contract some defect from the hardships of life abroad.

〔十三〕但倘若上升点没有行星，而它在白天独自被发现在从上升点起的第十二宫，就判定祖产的丧失、可怜的营生与旅居异乡。但倘若它在夜间同样被发现在这个宫位，就会使人困苦低微，或使他们生在低微或奴仆的家庭，劳苦而总忙于不光彩的事务，身体或口中被浓重难闻的气味污染，却惯于常常受骗、遭遇危险，并因旅居异乡的艰辛而染上某种缺损。

[14] But inquire carefully also into the dodecatemory of the Moon and the terms in which the dodecatemory is; for whatever is hidden in the nativity by the general arrangement of the planets, the dodecatemories and their terms make public and demonstrate it all. For if you wish to explain the whole substance of the effects from the efficacy of the dodecatemories and from the terms in which they have been found, you will not be deceived; for the Babylonians assign the sum of the decrees to the dodecatemories, Ptolemy to the antiscia, we to both.

〔十四〕但也要仔细探究月亮的十二分部，以及十二分部所在的界；因为本命中凡因诸星的总体排布而隐藏的，十二分部与它们的界都会把它全部公开、显明。因为倘若你想凭十二分部的效力、凭它们所在的界来解释效验的全部实质，你就不会受骗；因为巴比伦人把判定的总和归于十二分部，托勒密归于映点，我们则归于两者。
