第十二章　水星与金星

[1] Mercury and Venus placed partilely in the Ascendant in a day nativity make shield-bearers or protectors of emperors, or men who guard the safety of the prince by their own watch, or who are ordered to govern money or the royal treasures by their own management, and men to whom the duties of administrations of this kind are entrusted; for they will make musicians, chorus singers, and men who compose musical modes, or certainly public teachers, or orators, or grammarians, or devisers of laws, or men who excel in numbers.

〔一〕水星与金星在白天的本命盘里精确地同在上升点，会造就皇帝的持盾卫士或护卫，或以自身的守夜保卫君主安全的人，或受命以自己的经管掌理钱财或君王财宝的人，以及受托这类行政职责的人；因为它们会造就乐师、合唱歌手、创作乐调的人，或者确是公共教师、或演说家、或文法家、或法律的创设者，或精于算数的人。

[2] But if they have been found in the degrees of the Ascendant by night, they will make men sharp, talented, and men who easily attain everything whatever they wish to do. And they will be either crowned, or overseers of priests, or bearers of sacred images, and men who receive increases of rank in the course of time. And they will make men skilled in some kind of harmony, or overseers of the king's letters, but men whose speech and discourse is full of charm and grace.

〔二〕但倘若它们在夜间被发现在上升点的度数里，就会使人敏锐、有才，凡想做的事都容易达成。他们或者戴冠，或者做祭司的主管，或者抬神圣的像，随着时间推移得到官阶的增长。它们还会造就精通某种和声的人，或君王书信的主管，却是言谈充满魅力与优雅的人。

[3] Mercury and Venus placed together in the second place from the Ascendant in a day nativity will make men who handle many affairs and are occupied in noble actions, and who persevere in them for rather a long time, agreeable and pleasing in life and character alike, yet fond of wine and lustful. But if Mercury has been found in this place as a morning star, it will make men who seek patrimonies by themselves, fortunate, lettered, men who practice some branch of learning and music, cheerful, honorable, and shining with the splendor of grace.

〔三〕水星与金星在白天的本命盘里一同落在从上升点起的第二宫，会造就经办许多事务、从事高尚之事并能较长久坚持的人，在生活与品格上都和蔼可亲，却好酒好色。但倘若水星作为晨星被发现在这个宫位，就会造就凭自己求得祖产的人，幸运、有文学修养、从事某门学问与音乐的人，开朗、可敬，焕发着优雅的光彩。

[4] But if in a night nativity it has been found in this place with Venus as an evening star, it decrees great resources and in the course of time bestows increases of the greatest good fortune; for they will be leading men of cities, they will be set over the laws, and men to whom the care of the greatest provinces is entrusted. Some find something from which they take the beginnings of good fortune, on others the greatest inheritances are conferred.

〔四〕但倘若在夜间的本命盘里它作为昏星与金星一同被发现在这个宫位，就判定巨大的资财，随着时间推移赐予极大好运的增长；因为他们会是城市的首要人物，被置于法律之上，受托照管极大的行省。有些人找到某样东西，从中得到好运的开端；另一些人被赐予极大的遗产。

[5] Mercury and Venus placed together in the third place from the Ascendant will make men victors in sacred contests, or priests, or prophets, or dressers of the gods, or men handling the greatest offices in the temples, or overseers of priests, or presidents of a sacred contest, or envoys of good character and training [text uncertain], and men to whom a city, free from care, entrusts its desires.

〔五〕水星与金星一同落在从上升点起的第三宫，会使人在神圣竞赛中得胜，或造就祭司、或先知、或诸神的装扮者、或在神庙中掌理最重要职事的人、或祭司的主管、或神圣竞赛的主持，或品格与教养良好的使节〔原文疑有讹误〕，以及城市放心地把自己的心愿托付给他们的人。

[6] Mercury and Venus placed together in the fourth place from the Ascendant will make men skilled in hidden writings, magi, philosophers, and men who often deal with heavenly things, or who cure suffering men, and who are accustomed to benefit men in any kind of way. But Mercury placed in this place with Venus as a morning star will cause men to come from slavery to freedom and leads them from ignobility to splendor and nobility, but they will undertake the protection and defense of wretched women, or of servile women, or of old women, or of maidens, and men who on account of these women pursue actions of various kinds. And it will make men occupied in established actions, in business, and in trade, according to the substance and quality of the signs.

〔六〕水星与金星一同落在从上升点起的第四宫，会造就精通隐秘文字的人、玛吉、哲人、常常研究天上之事的人，或医治受苦之人、惯于以种种方式造福于人的人。但水星作为晨星与金星一同落在这个宫位，会使人从奴隶身分得到自由，引人从卑微走向光彩与高贵，但他们会承担庇护与保卫可怜的女人、或女奴、或老妇、或少女的事，并因这些女人从事各种事务。它还会按星座的实质与性质，使人从事固定的事务、生意与贸易。

[7] Mercury found together with Venus in the fifth place from the Ascendant decrees the greatest resources in the course of time and likewise bestows the insignia of good fortune, and makes men who obtain the greatest gifts or rewards from women or from wives, and who are joined in acquaintance with powerful men.

〔七〕水星与金星一同被发现在从上升点起的第五宫，随着时间推移判定极大的资财，也同样赐予好运的徽章，造就从女人或妻子那里得到极大馈赠或酬报的人，以及与有权势者结交相识的人。

[8] Mercury found together with Venus in the sixth place from the Ascendant in a day nativity decrees resources of substance from accounts, or from trade, or from reckoning, or from learning, or from the revenue of the gods, especially if, with these so placed in the 6th place, some planet has been found in the 10th place of the nativity; but they will obtain a wife with difficulty, for they will be lustful and in some way infamous on that account.

〔八〕水星与金星在白天的本命盘里一同被发现在从上升点起的第六宫，判定从账目、或贸易、或计算、或学问、或诸神的收入得来的资财，尤其是倘若它们这样落在第六宫时，本命的第十宫发现某颗行星；但他们会难以娶妻，因为他们好色，并因此以某种方式蒙受恶名。

[9] But in a night nativity, if it has been found in this place with Venus as a morning star, they will join to themselves maidservants, or widows, or harlots for the sake of marriage; and they will have laborious and servile occupations, and occupations connected with water, if, with these so placed, no planet has been found in the tenth place from the Ascendant. But if there has been one, it will make men who gain much by their own labor; for they will be foreign traders, helmsmen, shipmasters, or goldsmiths.

〔九〕但在夜间的本命盘里，倘若它作为晨星与金星一同被发现在这个宫位，他们会为了婚姻把婢女、或寡妇、或娼妓结合到自己身上；倘若它们这样落位时，从上升点起的第十宫没有发现行星，他们还会有劳苦而奴仆般的营生，以及与水有关的营生。但倘若有一颗，就会造就凭自己的劳作大有所得的人；因为他们会是往来异乡的商人、舵手、船主或金匠。

[10] But if it has been found in this place with Venus as an evening star, it will make men sagacious, talented, musicians or organ players, or dyers of colors, or merchants of spices, or of gems, or of pearls; it will make some perfume sellers or inventors of medicinal preparations; so placed, it will also frequently make overseers of mines, so that the greatest supports of resources are acquired for them from these actions.

〔十〕但倘若它作为昏星与金星一同被发现在这个宫位，就会使人聪敏、有才，做乐师或管风琴手，或颜料染工，或香料、或宝石、或珍珠的商人；有些人它会使之成为卖香膏的人或药剂的发明者；这样落位，它还常造就矿场的主管，以致从这些事务中为他们获得资财的极大依靠。

[11] Mercury and Venus found together in the seventh place from the Ascendant decree the defects of hidden ailments; for they make men either diseased in the liver, or frenzied, or melancholic, and ailments like these, but always estranged from affection for a wife and infamous up to the last period of life.

〔十一〕水星与金星一同被发现在从上升点起的第七宫，判定隐病的缺损；因为它们使人或者肝有病，或者狂乱，或者忧郁，以及类似的病患，却总是疏远对妻子的爱情，直到人生最后阶段都声名不佳。

[12] But if it has been found in this place with Venus by night, the greatest substance of riches will be conferred on them by women or by wives, and they will be men who gradually, in the course of life, attain great honors and the insignia of the greatest good fortune, especially if Mars and Saturn have not aspected them so placed from any side, but particularly Saturn. For if Mars and Saturn have been joined to them so placed by some aspect, they turn the things we have mentioned into their opposite.

〔十二〕但倘若它在夜间与金星一同被发现在这个宫位，极大的财富资财会由女人或妻子赐给他们，他们会是在一生的进程中逐步得到大荣誉与极大好运之徽章的人，尤其是倘若火星与土星没有从任何一方照着这样落位的它们，而尤其是土星。因为倘若火星与土星以某种相位与这样落位的它们相结，就把我们所说的这些事转为反面。

[13] Mercury and Venus placed together as evening stars in the eighth place from the Ascendant in a day nativity render men ineffective, unsuccessful, and men who can accomplish nothing. They will also make men always toiling and entangled in business; and they will be afflicted with defects in mind and body, men who obtain marriage with difficulty, and they will be sterile and unable to beget offspring. And they will die either of spasms, or of gonorrhoea, or of apoplexy, or in frenzy.

〔十三〕水星与金星作为昏星在白天的本命盘里一同落在从上升点起的第八宫，会使人无所作为、不成功，什么也做不成。它们还会使人总是劳苦、被事务缠住；他们会身心都带有缺损，难以得到婚姻，不育而不能生养后代。他们会死于痉挛、或淋病、或中风、或狂乱。

[14] But found together in this place by night, they will make heirs to another's patrimony, or men who bear the care of others' resources, but good, kindly fathers of families, and men on whom very much is conferred by women or by wives; others will find something that suffices them for every support of life; but they will have a sudden death, without pain and torment.

〔十四〕但在夜间一同被发现在这个宫位，会造就他人祖产的继承人，或承担照管他人资财的人，却是良善、慈爱的家长，从女人或妻子那里得到极多的人；另一些人会找到某样东西，足以供给一切生计；但他们会猝死，没有痛苦与折磨。

[15] But Mercury placed in this place with Venus as a morning star will produce men who learn much and know everything, inventors too, and men who easily attain whatever they wish, but men who receive increases of patrimony in the course of life.

〔十五〕但水星作为晨星与金星一同落在这个宫位，会产生学得多、无所不知的人，也是发明者，凡所愿都容易达成，却是在一生的进程中祖产增长的人。

[16] Mercury and Venus placed together in the ninth place from the Ascendant will give women who prophesy as wives, and they will also cause the natives themselves to be raised higher or magnified, and men who seek the supports of life from the offices of the temples. And they will make either priests, or those who, placed in temples, foretell the future, or haruspices, or astrologers, or augurs, or magi, or men who are accustomed to explain omens.

〔十六〕水星与金星一同落在从上升点起的第九宫，会给予会预言的女人为妻，还会使本命之人自己被抬高或被尊大，并从神庙的职事中谋求生计的依靠。它们还会造就祭司、或在神庙中预言未来的人、或脏卜师、或星占家、或鸟卜师、或玛吉，或惯于解说征兆的人。

[17] Mercury placed with Venus in the 10th place from the Ascendant will make public actions, and men who are honored by the people or by cities, but men who incur infamy from the actions of their wife. But Mercury placed in this place with Venus as a morning star will make inventors of musical modes, but stage performers destined for public spectacles, and unfortunate in marriage; for they will have wives who are either harlots, or public women, or women of the stage, or infamous, and some will also be lovers of boys and entangled in the vicious pleasures of many lusts.

〔十七〕水星与金星一同落在从上升点起的第十宫，会造成公共的事务，造就受民众或城市尊崇的人，却是因妻子的行事而招致恶名的人。但水星作为晨星与金星一同落在这个宫位，会造就乐调的发明者，但也造就注定登上公共表演的舞台演员，婚姻不幸；因为他们的妻子或者是娼妓、或者是公众的女人、或者是舞台上的女人、或者声名狼藉，有些人还会爱恋男童，陷入许多情欲的邪恶享乐之中。

[18] Mercury placed with Venus in the 11th place from the Ascendant will make men who handle the affairs of women and to whom the substance of women is entrusted, so that from this activity the greatest supports of patrimony are conferred on them, but afterwards they are placed in adversities or in the greatest losses.

〔十八〕水星与金星一同落在从上升点起的第十一宫，会造就经办女人事务、受托女人资财的人，以致从这项营生中赐给他们祖产的极大依靠，但后来他们被置于逆境或极大的损失之中。

[19] Mercury placed with Venus in the 12th place from the Ascendant, if it has been found so by day, will make lovers, and men suffering from the vice of love affairs, yet conspicuous and known to all in these vices; but on this account it will cause them to be informed against and compels them to be condemned on this information, and it will make them perish by a violent death on account of these vices of the mind which we have mentioned.

〔十九〕水星与金星一同落在从上升点起的第十二宫，倘若在白天被发现这样，会造就多情的人、受恋爱之病所苦的人，却在这些毛病上显眼而为众人所知；但因此它会使他们被告发，迫使他们因这告发被定罪，并会因我们所说的这些心性之病使他们横死。

[20] But if they have been found in this place by night, it will bring many persecutions from unworthy women, or makes men who are compelled at the instigation of love to take a harlot to themselves, and mechanics, and men who appear to be occupied in manifold pursuits in these activities [text uncertain]; but men who frequently fall away from their undertaking and who are accustomed to be frequently deceived in their actions and business or in their resources.

〔二十〕但倘若它们在夜间被发现在这个宫位，就会带来来自卑劣女人的许多迫害，或造就受爱情驱使而不得不纳娼妓的人，还造就机械匠，以及看来在这些营生中从事多种事业的人〔原文疑有讹误〕；但他们常常半途放弃所图之事，惯于在事务、生意或资财上常常受骗。
