第六章　金星

[1] Venus placed partilely in the degree of the Ascendant, if it is in this place by night, will make men of divine talents; it renders them friends of emperors or of the powerful, and men to whom the affairs of emperors and great men are entrusted. It will also make very great and good orators, according to the nature and quality of the signs. For if it has been found partilely in the Ascendant in human signs, it will make chiefs of priests, and men who in these very priesthoods are clothed in purple or golden garments, and who foretell the future. And it will make them pleasing, charming, and rich, if no malefic planet has set itself against Venus so placed with any power of its aspect.

〔一〕金星精确到度地落在上升点之度，倘若它在夜间落在这里，会造就有神圣才华的人；它使他们成为皇帝或有权势者的朋友，成为受托办理皇帝与大人物之事的人。它还会按星座的本性与性质，造就极伟大而优秀的演说家。因为倘若它精确到度地在上升点、落在人形星座里，就会造就祭司之长，以及在这些祭司职位上身穿紫袍或金衣、预言未来的人。倘若没有凶星以任何相位之力与这样落位的金星作对，它还会使他们讨人喜欢、风雅而富有。

[2] But if, with Venus placed partilely in the Ascendant in the signs we have mentioned, the star of Mercury has joined itself to it and has been placed with it partilely in the same sign and in the same degrees, it will cause them to be crowned with crowns and fillets; it will also make musicians such that they are praised with the admiration of all.

〔二〕但倘若金星精确到度地落在上升点、在我们所说的那些星座里，而水星之星与它相连，又精确地与它同在一个星座、同在那些度数里，就会使他们戴上冠冕与束发带；它还会造就受众人赞叹称颂的乐师。

[3] But placed in fixed signs and in those that have little voice, in a night nativity of course, it will make devoted friends of emperors who court them with manifold zeal, men who do and devise something that pertains to royal pardons; it will also make overseers of pleasures, but of those that are prepared for the royal delight, men who receive the greatest allowances from the emperor, so that from the supply of these allowances the greatest riches are conferred on them. But placed in earthy or in watery signs, it will make such men as prepare the pigments of perfumes, or who weave magnificent garments, or it will produce very great dyers. But placed in four-footed signs, as we have said, it will make men noble, glorious, and good, lovers of herds, and overseers of the king's animals.

〔三〕但它落在固定星座、落在声音微弱的星座里，当然是在夜间的本命盘里，会造就以多种殷勤侍奉皇帝的忠心朋友，做出、想出某种与君王的赦免相关之事的人；它还会造就娱乐的主管，但只是为君王的享乐而预备的那些娱乐，从皇帝那里领取极大的津贴，以致从这些津贴的供给中得到极大的财富。但落在土象或水象星座，会造就调制香料颜料的人，或织造华美衣裳的人，或造就极大的染工。但如我们所说落在四足星座，会使人高贵、荣耀、良善，喜爱牲畜，做君王牲畜的主管。

[4] But if in a day nativity it has been found partilely in the Ascendant, it will make men infamous, lustful, and impure; they will also be linen-weavers, or embroiderers, or inventors of colors and dyers, or innkeepers, or shopkeepers. But if Venus so placed by day has aspected Saturn from any side, it will make effeminates, catamites, or men who give themselves over to shameful acts [text uncertain]; but if Venus placed in the Ascendant [probably: by night] [lacuna] it will give a wife in early life. And Saturn, if it has aspected Venus so placed with a strong aspect, will make either eunuchs or weavers or inventors of pigments. But if Jupiter has aspected Venus so placed with a good aspect, it will make overseers of the king's weaving-houses.

〔四〕但倘若它在白天的本命盘里被发现精确到度地在上升点，会使人声名狼藉、好色、不洁；他们还会是麻布织工、或刺绣匠、或颜色的发明者与染工、或客栈老板、或店铺掌柜。但倘若这样在白天落位的金星从任何一方照着土星，就会造就柔靡之人、娈宠，或沉溺于可耻之事的人〔原文疑有讹误〕；但倘若金星落在上升点〔推测：在夜间〕〔此处原文有缺〕，它会在早年给予妻子。土星倘若以有力的相位照着这样落位的金星，会造就阉人、或织工、或颜料的发明者。但倘若木星以好的相位照着这样落位的金星，会造就君王织坊的主管。

[5] Venus placed in the second place from the Ascendant, if it has been found so, as we have said, in a night nativity, makes inventors of great arts and men rich in abundance, but men who are frequently struck by infamy, on whom good fortune is conferred by degrees, and men pleasing and agreeable in the desires of love.

〔五〕金星落在从上升点起的第二宫，倘若如我们所说是在夜间的本命盘里被发现这样，会造就伟大技艺的发明者、富足的人，但常受恶名打击，好运逐步加给他们，在爱的欲望里讨人喜欢、可亲。

[6] But if it has been found in this place by day, it decrees the greatest adversities and late marriages, and it also stirs up lawsuits with some woman; some too are widowed by the sudden deaths of their wives. But if either the Sun or Saturn has aspected Venus so placed by square or by opposition, or has been placed with it, they will make men sterile and ineffective in the acts of love, men who never take wives and who are always entangled in the love of boys. But these evils are decreed more strongly if in a day nativity Venus has been found so in the house of Saturn, or of Mars, or of Mercury, or in their terms.

〔六〕但倘若它在白天被发现在这个宫位，就判定极大的逆境与迟来的婚姻，还会挑起与某个女人的官司；也有人因妻子猝死而丧偶。但倘若太阳或土星以四分或对冲照着这样落位的金星，或与它同在，就会使人不育、在爱事上无能，终身不娶，总陷在爱恋男童之中。但倘若在白天的本命盘里金星被发现这样落在土星、或火星、或水星的庙里，或在它们的界里，这些祸患就判定得更重。

[7] Venus placed in the third place from the Ascendant will be good if Jupiter has aspected it by some aspect; for the native will take a wife from a temple, or a priestess, or a priest's daughter. But if the star of Mercury or the Moon is with Venus, they themselves too will be prophets, temple-wardens, or overseers of temples and religious rites.

〔七〕金星落在从上升点起的第三宫，倘若木星以某种相位照着它，就是好的；因为本命之人会从神庙里娶妻，或娶女祭司，或娶祭司的女儿。但倘若水星之星或月亮与金星同在，他们自己也会是先知、神庙守护者，或神庙与宗教仪式的主管。

[8] Venus placed by day in the fourth place from the Ascendant, that is, in the lower Midheaven, will cause the greatest loss of the patrimony and continual widowhoods, and renders men such that they can obtain anything only with difficulty. And if Mercury too has been joined to it by a partile aspect, it will make adulterers, and frequently causes them to be proscribed on account of bad administrations, either public or private [text uncertain].

〔八〕金星在白天落在从上升点起的第四宫，即地底中天，会造成祖产的极大损失与接连不断的丧偶，使人无论什么都只能艰难地得到。倘若水星也以精确的相位与它相连，就会造就通奸者，并常因公家或私家的管理不善而使他们被公告籍没〔原文疑有讹误〕。

[9] But if it has been found in this place by night, in the course of life it will bring praise, and will make men friends of great men, full of charm and seemly; but in youth, that is, in the first stage of life, honorable indeed and lacking nothing, but entangled in some vice of the mind, according to the proper nature and substance of the sign.

〔九〕但倘若它在夜间被发现在这个宫位，在一生的进程中会带来称誉，使人成为大人物的朋友，富有风雅而得体；但在少年时，即人生的第一阶段，虽然体面、一无所缺，却按星座本身的本性与实质，陷在某种心性的毛病里。

For placed in tropical or in double signs it decrees widowhoods and losses and lawsuits on account of women or stirred up by women; placed in solid signs it decrees compliant wives, and men who are greatly loved by them and on whom glory and patrimonies are conferred by women, the sign of Aquarius excepted; for if Venus has been found in this sign, in the fourth place from the Ascendant of course, and the Moon has aspected it from a square or from opposition, or if it is placed with it, it will make men sterile, who cannot beget children, who never wish to unite themselves in conjugal affection, and who always delight in intercourse with boys.

[10] Venus placed in the fifth place from the Ascendant will make men good, kindly, and men who easily obtain whatever they wish. It will also cause them to be crowned with fillets and crowns; if Jupiter has aspected it by some aspect, it will make them famous or ennobled by some honor. But if Mercury has been placed with it, it bestows increases of livelihood and promotions, but with the greatest infamy. And it will make them victors in every contest, men on whom rewards are conferred for the sake of their victories, powerful in all things, men who always foreknow the future, known to powerful men, and men on whom the greatest patrimonies are conferred by women or by wives, or who come to the highest grades of rank through the protection or patronage of women or wives; but everything is granted them full and complete in the course of time.

〔十〕金星落在从上升点起的第五宫，会使人良善、仁厚，无论想要什么都容易得到。它还会使他们戴上束发带与冠冕；倘若木星以某种相位照着它，就使他们出名，或因某种荣誉而显贵。但倘若水星与它同在，它会赐予生计的增长与升迁，却伴着极大的恶名。它还会使他们在每一场竞赛中得胜，因胜利而得奖赏，在一切事上有力，总能预知未来，为有权势者所知，由女人或妻子赐给他们极大的祖产，或凭女人、妻子的保护与庇荫升到最高的官阶；但一切都随着时间推移，满满足足地赐给他们。

[11] But if it has received the light of the waxing Moon, or the waxing Moon has joined itself to it, they will attain administrations and glories with great envy; but it renders them reliable and removed from every falsehood, men who are unwilling either to give or to accept the obligation of an oath even concerning true matters; but Venus so placed with the Moon will make them quarrel with their wives in contentious strife on account of certain suspicions.

〔十一〕但倘若它接受了正盈月亮的光，或正盈的月亮与它相连，他们会在极大的嫉妒中得到行政之职与荣耀；但它使他们可靠，远离一切虚假，即使关乎真事，也不愿立誓或受人之誓；但金星这样与月亮同在，会使他们因某些猜疑而与妻子争执不休。

[12] Venus placed by day and by night in the sixth place from the Ascendant will give rather ignoble wives, or widows, or disabled wives, and wives never compliant to their husbands, if no planet has been found in the Midheaven. But if a woman has the star of Venus placed in the sixth place of her nativity, she will suffer great difficulties and great dangers in childbirth; for either she will frequently miscarry, or she gives birth with difficulty, so that the fetus is brought out torn apart from within her womb by physicians.

〔十二〕金星在白天与夜间落在从上升点起的第六宫，倘若中天没有行星，会给予相当卑贱的妻子、或寡妇、或残疾的妻子，以及从不顺从丈夫的妻子。但倘若一个女人在她本命的第六宫有金星之星，她在分娩时会遭遇大难与大险；因为她或者常常流产，或者难产，以致胎儿被医生从她腹中撕裂着取出。

[13] But if, with Venus placed in the sixth place, in a night nativity of course, some planet has been found in the Midheaven, it will make men pleasing and comely, to whom their wives are compliant, on whom good fortune is conferred by their wives, and who attain everything whatever they wish. But if Venus has been placed estranged from the angles, and malefic planets have taken hold with a strong aspect of the Moon placed in the angles, it will make them exposed by their parents, and they make them perish at once [probably: "and they (the malefics) end their lives at once"] [text uncertain].

〔十三〕但倘若金星落在第六宫——当然是在夜间的本命盘里——而中天被发现有某颗行星，就会使人讨人喜欢、容貌端正，妻子顺从他们，由妻子赐给他们好运，他们想要什么都能得到。但倘若金星与各角疏离，而凶星以有力的相位占住落在各角的月亮，就会使他们被父母遗弃，并使他们立即死去〔推测：原作「凶星随即终结其命」〕〔原文疑有讹误〕。

[14] Venus placed in the seventh place from the Ascendant, if it has been found by night in its own sign, renders old age fortunate, but it will give a wife rather late, and decrees children with difficulty for those who have Venus so placed. And it will make them suffer the greatest infamies in matters of love, according to the nature and quality of the sign. For if it has held this place placed in tropical signs, or scaly, or wandering signs, and Mars is with it or has joined itself to it with a strong aspect by opposition or from a square, it makes men impure, lustful, and infamous.

〔十四〕金星落在从上升点起的第七宫，倘若在夜间被发现在自己的星座里，会使晚年幸运，但会较晚给予妻子，并为这样得金星的人判定子女难得。它还会按星座的本性与性质，使他们在爱的事上蒙受极大的恶名。因为倘若它落在回归星座、或有鳞的星座、或游走的星座而占住这个宫位，火星与它同在，或以对冲、四分的有力相位与它相连，就会使人不洁、好色、声名狼藉。

[15] But if Saturn has aspected Venus so placed with Mars in the signs we have mentioned by some aspect, that is, either by square or by opposition, or placed together with it, women who have Venus with this association of planets will lie impurely and shamelessly with women for the sake of lust. But these vices will be stronger if this mixture of planets has been joined in Capricorn or Aries.

〔十五〕但倘若土星在我们所说的那些星座里，以某种相位、即以四分或对冲，照着这样与火星一同落位的金星，或与它同在，那么得金星而有这种诸星结伴的女人，会为了情欲与女人不洁、无耻地同寝。但倘若这种诸星的混合在摩羯或白羊相会，这些毛病就更重。

[16] Venus, if it is placed in the eighth place from the Ascendant, in a day nativity of course, will give a wife late, and when it gives one, it will give one either degenerate, or a widow, or barren, or disfigured by grave ugliness. And if Mercury is with it, and a malefic planet has aspected Venus placed in this place together with Mercury, either by square or by opposition, or if it has been found with them in this place, the whole patrimony of the native is squandered or stripped away by some confiscation. And death is brought upon him through gonorrhoea, that is, through the flowing away of the seed, or through contraction, or through spasm, or through apoplexy. But if Venus has been found in this place by night, it will make men rich, and men on whom good fortune is conferred by the death of great women; and death is decreed for them quickly, and without pain, and without any torment.

〔十六〕金星倘若落在从上升点起的第八宫，当然是在白天的本命盘里，会较晚给予妻子，给的时候，给的是或者出身低贱、或者寡妇、或者不育、或者因严重的丑陋而毁了容貌的妻子。倘若水星与它同在，而一颗凶星以四分或对冲照着与水星一同落在这个宫位的金星，或与它们同在这个宫位，本命之人的全部祖产就会被挥霍，或因某种籍没而被剥夺。死亡也经由淋病即精液的流失、或经由挛缩、或经由痉挛、或经由中风降临于他。但倘若金星在夜间被发现在这个宫位，就会使人富有，由大贵妇人之死而得好运；他们的死亡也被判定为迅速、无痛、没有任何折磨。

[17] Venus, if it is placed in the ninth place from the Ascendant in a day nativity, will cause the one who has Venus so to be troubled by the continual harassment of some daemon; and it will make them stay squalid in the temples and always go about so, men who never cut their hair, and who wish to announce something to men as though spoken by the gods, such as those who are accustomed to prophesy in the temples usually are; Venus so placed also frequently renders interpreters of dreams. But these things will be stronger if Saturn has aspected Venus so placed by some aspect.

〔十七〕金星倘若在白天的本命盘里落在从上升点起的第九宫，会使这样得金星的人受某个神灵不断的骚扰；它会使他们满身污秽地住在神庙里，总是这样四处走动，从不剪发，想要把某些话当作诸神所说的告诉众人，正像那些惯在神庙里预言的人通常的样子；这样落位的金星也常造就解梦人。但倘若土星以某种相位照着这样落位的金星，这些就更重。

[18] But if it has been found in this place in a night nativity, it will make diviners, worshippers of the gods, and men who instruct others in sacred rites and religious observances; and to some it grants offices or gifts from the temples. But if, with Venus so placed by night, Mars and Saturn have joined themselves to it from opposition or from a square, or placed together with it, they will cause them to be harassed through women, or grave misfortune is brought on them with women, and women are always ungrateful to them, especially if, with this association of planets, it has been found in tropical signs.

〔十八〕但倘若它在夜间的本命盘里被发现在这个宫位，会造就占卜者、诸神的崇拜者、教导他人圣礼与宗教仪式的人；对有些人它还赐予神庙的职事或馈赠。但倘若金星在夜间这样落位时，火星和土星从对冲或四分与它相连，或与它同在，就会使他们因女人而受扰，或使重大的不幸随女人降临，女人也总对他们忘恩负义，尤其是倘若有这种诸星结伴时，它被发现在回归星座里。

[19] But if the star of Jupiter has aspected Venus so placed from a trine or from a sextile, or if it has been found with it, it will make them dearly loved by women, it will make them charming, pleasing, men who attain everything easily and who are masters in the property of their wife; others take on the care of women or become stewards for women; others, having Venus so, remain in the palaces of kings or in the houses of powerful men on account of the making of those things that are necessary for the adornment of women, always pleasing and indispensable because of these things, and on account of these things they are graced with some promotions and from these things obtain the greatest increases of patrimony.

〔十九〕但倘若木星之星从三分或六分照着这样落位的金星，或被发现与它同在，就会使他们深受女人宠爱，使他们风雅、讨人喜欢，容易得到一切，做妻子财产的主人；另一些人承担照料女人之事，或做女人的管家；另一些这样得金星的人，因制作女人妆饰所需之物而留在君王的宫殿或有权势者的家中，因这些事总讨人喜欢、不可或缺，因这些事得到某些升迁，并从中得到祖产极大的增长。

[20] But if Mars, placed in opposition or in square, has aspected Venus so placed, especially if it is itself placed in the angles, they will have enemies and will also see grievous deaths of their children; they will also be enemies of their children, on account either of adultery or of debauchery. But if Mercury has aspected from a square Venus so placed with the star of Jupiter, or if Saturn alone has been found in opposition with Mercury placed in square or with Venus, or if Saturn and Venus have been placed together with Mercury, in this place of course which we have mentioned, it will make men sterile, without seed, lustful lovers of boys, and men who on account of these vices are involved in homicides, or dangers, or crimes. But if a woman has Venus so, as we have said, with this conjunction of planets of course, she will always imitate the acts of men.

〔二十〕但倘若火星落在对冲或四分而照着这样落位的金星，尤其是倘若它自己落在各角，他们会有仇敌，还会看到子女惨痛的死亡；他们也会因通奸或淫乱之故而与子女为敌。但倘若水星从四分照着与木星之星一同这样落位的金星，或土星单独被发现在对冲，而水星在四分或与金星同在，或土星和金星与水星一同落位——当然是在我们所说的这个宫位——就会使人不育、无精、好色而爱恋男童，并因这些毛病卷入命案、危险或罪案。但倘若一个女人如我们所说这样得金星，当然是有这种诸星的会合，她会总是模仿男人的行事。

[21] Venus, if it has been found in the tenth place from the Ascendant, that is, in the Midheaven, will make men illustrious and crowned, on whom great glory and the greatest fortune are conferred. But if it has been found in this place with Mercury, it will make sagacious authors of learning, and men who easily attain whatever they wish. If Saturn and Mars have joined themselves to it by no aspect, and it is itself a morning star, it makes public musicians, men who are honored by the people. But if Saturn has joined itself to it by some aspect, it will make men infamous and second-rate in the arts they profess, who never claim preeminence for themselves, and who commit their affairs to another's protection. But if Mars has aspected Venus so placed with a strong aspect, or if it is with it, it will make men notorious for their infamy.

〔二十一〕金星倘若被发现在从上升点起的第十宫，即中天，会使人显赫、戴冠，赐给他们大荣耀与极大的好运。但倘若它与水星一同被发现在这个宫位，会造就睿智的学问著作者，以及无论想要什么都容易得到的人。倘若土星与火星不以任何相位与它相连，而它自己是晨星，就造就公众的乐师、受民众尊崇的人。但倘若土星以某种相位与它相连，就会使人声名不佳，在所从事的技艺中居于次等，从不为自己争首位，把自己的事交给别人庇护。但倘若火星以有力的相位照着这样落位的金星，或与它同在，就会使人以恶名昭著。

[22] But if a woman has Venus so placed, she will be impure, lustful, exposed to the pleasure of all, and always entangled in the acts of a harlot, a woman who for the necessities of life sets herself up in a brothel or hires herself out to a pimp; but these acts are brought about according to the quality and substance of the signs. For if a man has Venus placed so, as we have said, in wandering signs, or in tropical signs, or in the houses of Saturn, or in scaly signs, he will be infamous without end, and a man who commits impure acts in manifold ways.

〔二十二〕但倘若一个女人有这样落位的金星，她会不洁、好色、任众人寻欢，总陷在娼妓的行事里，为了生活所需而把自己安置在妓院，或把自己租给皮条客；但这些事都按星座的性质与实质而成。因为倘若一个男人如我们所说，在游走星座、或回归星座、或土星的庙、或有鳞的星座里有这样落位的金星，他会恶名无穷，以多种方式行不洁之事。

But Venus placed so, as we have said, in these signs and with this association of planets, in such a way that it has been found in a feminine sign, and the Moon, waxing in light and likewise itself placed in a feminine sign, has aspected Mars by square or by opposition, will make eunuchs, or castrated chief eunuch-priests of the Great Mother, or hermaphrodites, and men who always do and suffer the things which women are accustomed to suffer, driven by the perverse heats of lust.

但金星如我们所说这样落在这些星座、有这种诸星的结伴，以致它被发现在阴性星座，而正盈的月亮同样落在阴性星座，以四分或对冲照着火星，就会造就阉人、或去势的大母神首席阉人祭司、或两性人，以及受情欲的悖逆之热驱使、总是做着并承受着女人惯常承受之事的人。

[23] Venus placed in the eleventh place from the Ascendant, if it is an evening star and Mars and Saturn have aspected it so placed from some side, will make men sterile, who cannot beget, and who obtain marriage with difficulty, and frequently it makes lovers of boys, or of women of the stage, or men who preside over public trade, especially if, so placed, it has been placed in tropical signs; but it will make them grow gradually in substance, men on whom increases of honors or even patrimonies are conferred through the protection of friends, yet pleasing and charming. And if Venus so placed has received the conjunction of the approaching Moon, it will make men wealthy, rich, very powerful, and of greater glory, men to whom the care of great powers is entrusted [text uncertain]; at times it will make them among the ten foremost men of noble cities.

〔二十三〕金星落在从上升点起的第十一宫，倘若它是昏星，而火星和土星从某一方照着这样落位的它，会使人不育、不能生育、难得婚姻，常造就爱恋男童或爱恋舞台女子的人，或主管公共贸易的人，尤其是倘若这样落位时它落在回归星座里；但它会使他们在资财上逐步增长，凭朋友的保护赐给他们荣誉乃至祖产的增长，而且讨人喜欢、风雅。倘若这样落位的金星接受了趋近的月亮的会合，就会使人富足、有钱、极有权势、更有荣耀，受托照管大权〔原文疑有讹误〕；有时会使他们成为名城的十人首领之一。

[24] But if it has been found in this place as a morning star and likewise has received the conjunction of the approaching Moon, it will make men powerful from the first stage of life, such that some power is entrusted to them from the first stage of life, so that through their merit they bind great men or emperors to themselves in the trust of friendship, and men who are always graced with charm and beauty up to the last day of life; and these things will be stronger if, with Venus and the Moon placed in this place, Mercury has joined itself to them by some aspect or if it has been placed with them in the same place.

〔二十四〕但倘若它作为晨星被发现在这个宫位，同样接受了趋近的月亮的会合，就会使人从人生的第一阶段起便有权势，以致从人生的第一阶段起就有某种权力托付给他们，凭自己的功绩以友谊的信任把大人物或皇帝联结到自己身上，直到生命的最后一天都总以风雅与美貌为饰；倘若金星与月亮落在这个宫位时，水星以某种相位与它们相连，或与它们同在一处，这些就更大。

[25] Venus placed in the twelfth place from the Ascendant, if it has been found so in a night nativity, will make the native tormented by continual pain and sorrow on account of women. If Mars and Mercury have aspected it so placed with a strong aspect, it will frequently cause plots to be laid against him by maidservants for the sake of lust, it causes agitations of mind, and decrees the fires of a base love at the instigation of lust; some join maidservants to themselves in marriage, others unite public harlots to themselves by the bond of the marriage bed, and for this reason the offspring of children is also denied them.

〔二十五〕金星落在从上升点起的第十二宫，倘若在夜间的本命盘里被发现这样，会使本命之人因女人而受不断的痛苦与悲伤折磨。倘若火星和水星以有力的相位照着这样落位的它，就常使婢女为了情欲对他设下圈套，造成心神的激荡，在情欲的怂恿下判定卑贱之爱的火焰；有些人与婢女结为婚姻，另一些人以婚床之约把公开的娼妓结合到自己身上，因此子女的后嗣也被拒绝给他们。

[26] But placed in this place by day, it decrees murder or the horror of an evil death on account of women, according to the nature and quality of the signs; for this planet has various powers of decreeing, but such as can be found out only with difficulty. For just as in portraits the skilled painter marks out the outlines of the limbs from a varied diversity of mixtures, and with tempered colors makes a definite form of the body by imitating a bodily likeness, so too the joined aspect of the planets, tempered equally by the agreement of their association, borrows in turn a certain force from the powers joined to it, and, a substance having been gathered to it from the different color of their fires, it paints the fates of men in the manner of a picture, balanced by the measure of their association.

〔二十六〕但在白天落在这个宫位，它按星座的本性与性质，判定因女人而起的命案或恶死之惨；因为这颗行星有种种判定之力，却是只能艰难地查明的那种。因为正如在肖像里，娴熟的画师用多样混合的种种差别勾出肢体的轮廓，用调和的颜色模仿身体的样子，造出身体确定的形状；同样，诸星相连的相位，由它们结伴的协调平均地调和，也轮流从与它相连的诸力中借来某种力量，又从它们火光的不同颜色中聚起一种实质，像画一样描绘人的命运，以它们结伴的分寸取得平衡。

[27] That what we say is so is proved by these reasons. With Venus placed so, as we have said, if Saturn has joined itself to it by some aspect, it makes their minds entangled in perverse vices and renders them useful for no actions, especially if this conjunction of Venus and Saturn has been found in a night nativity. But if, so placed, it has joined itself to Jupiter by aspect, it is freed from the onset of the preceding malice; for it bestows the greatest goods. For they will both obtain increases of patrimony by their own actions and will be set apart from every stain of vice, provided, however, that the Moon has aspected Venus so placed with Jupiter from opposition by no aspect.

〔二十七〕我们所说的确是如此，由以下这些理由得到证明。金星如我们所说这样落位，倘若土星以某种相位与它相连，就使他们的心性陷在悖逆的毛病里，使他们于任何行事都无用，尤其是倘若金星与土星的这种会合被发现在夜间的本命盘里。但倘若它这样落位而以相位与木星相连，就从前述恶意的侵袭中解脱出来；因为它赐予极大的好处。他们既会凭自己的行事得到祖产的增长，又会远离一切毛病的污点，但前提是月亮不从对冲以任何相位照着与木星一同这样落位的金星。

[28] But if the Moon has been found in opposition, it will make men infamous, lustful, or lovers of boys, and through intercourse with women it causes them to be struck by the dishonor of grave infamy [text uncertain]; for from this mixture grave infamies are decreed from incest and debauchery; for they are compelled to lie with their sisters, or stepmothers, or daughters, or their brothers' wives, but nonetheless the greatest gains come to them from this incest and some reward of rank is conferred.

〔二十八〕但倘若月亮被发现在对冲，就会使人声名狼藉、好色、或爱恋男童，并因与女人交合而使他们被严重恶名的耻辱打击〔原文疑有讹误〕；因为从这种混合中，由乱伦与淫乱判定严重的恶名；因为他们被迫与姊妹、或继母、或女儿、或兄弟之妻同寝，但尽管如此，极大的收益仍从这乱伦中来到他们身上，还会赐予某种官阶的酬赏。

[29] And always Venus placed together with the Moon, or joined to it from a square, decrees either the allurements of love or the stain of infamy with a misfortune to which they are prone, or will entangle them in bitter vices of the mind, or makes them perverse with impure or lustful desire, or strikes them with grave infamy through incestuous loves. For either, as we said above, they lie with their sisters, or, if with women outside their family, they nevertheless unite to themselves two sisters known to them in debauchery, or they will lie with their daughters, or with their mothers, or with their daughters-in-law, or with the wives of their stepsons, or they will burn with the vice of lustful desire for their brothers' wives, or they will lie with stepmothers, or with relatives by marriage, or with their sisters' daughters.

〔二十九〕金星总是与月亮同在、或从四分与它相连时，判定或者爱的诱惑，或者伴着他们所易犯的不幸而来的恶名之污，或者使他们陷在苦涩的心性毛病里，或者使他们因不洁或好色的欲望而悖逆，或者以乱伦之爱的严重恶名打击他们。因为如我们上面所说，他们或者与姊妹同寝，或者若与族外的女人，仍会在淫乱中把他们所认识的两姊妹结合到自己身上，或者与女儿、或与母亲、或与儿媳、或与继子之妻同寝，或者因好色之欲的毛病而燃起对兄弟之妻的欲火，或者与继母、或与姻亲、或与姊妹的女儿同寝。

[30] But if a woman has Venus so placed, it will make her lustful and entangled in promiscuous pleasures of love, but always possessed by the stain of infamy and burning with incestuous loves; for she too will lie either with her own brothers, or with her sons, or with her parents, or with the sons of her paternal uncles, or with the husbands of her daughters, or with her paternal uncles, or with the paternal uncles of her sons, or with stepsons or relatives by marriage, or she will summon two brothers to the lust of a single bed; and other women it makes desire the acts of men.

〔三十〕但倘若一个女人有这样落位的金星，会使她好色，陷在杂乱的爱欲之乐里，却总为恶名之污所占据，燃着乱伦之爱；因为她也会与自己的兄弟、或儿子、或父母、或伯叔的儿子、或女儿的丈夫、或伯叔、或她儿子的伯叔、或继子、或姻亲同寝，或者把两兄弟召到同一张床的情欲里；另一些女人，它使之向往男人的行事。

[31] But it does these things more strongly when, joined to the Moon by this aspect, it has been so arranged by the aspect we have mentioned in tropical signs, or in wandering, or scaly, or in biform signs. And these things will be stronger and more violent if Mars or Saturn has seen both of them, that is, the Moon and Venus, so placed as we have said, or one of the two, either from opposition or from a square, or if one of the two malefics has been placed with one of them; or if the Moon and Venus, joined in this association or arranged by this aspect, have been placed in the house of Mars or of Saturn; or if they have either been together in the signs of Mercury, or one of the two, placed in a sign of Mercury, has aspected the other by such an aspect as we have mentioned.

〔三十一〕但当它以这个相位与月亮相连，以我们所说的相位落在回归星座、或游走、或有鳞、或双形星座时，它做这些事更甚。倘若火星或土星从对冲或四分看见如我们所说这样落位的两者即月亮与金星，或其中之一，或两颗凶星之一与它们之一同在；或者月亮与金星以这种结伴相会、或以这种相位排布，落在火星或土星的庙里；或者它们一同在水星的星座里，或两者之一落在水星的星座里，以我们所说的那种相位照着另一个，这些就会更重、更猛烈。

[32] Venus placed in evening rising, but in a night nativity and placed in a good sign, if it has joined itself to Mars by a favorable aspect, decrees good increases of good fortune; for it makes powerful and glorious positions of power, bestows the greatest insignia of honors, and bestows the riches of wealthy resources. But if by day it has joined itself to Mars by any aspect whatever, it decrees the misfortunes of many and great evils. For by night it rejoices if it has joined itself to the Moon, to Mars, and to Mercury, and then it ennobles men with the greatest good fortune, whenever in a night nativity it has been joined to these by a good aspect.

〔三十二〕金星落在昏升，但在夜间的本命盘里、落在好星座，倘若以吉利的相位与火星相连，就判定好运的良好增长；因为它造就有权势而荣耀的权位，赐予荣誉的最大徽章，赐予富足资财的财富。但倘若它在白天以无论什么相位与火星相连，就判定许多重大祸患的不幸。因为在夜间，倘若它与月亮、火星和水星相连，它就喜乐，于是每当它在夜间的本命盘里以好的相位与这些星相连，就以极大的好运使人显贵。

[33] But if Venus is with the Sun in this place of which we are speaking, it has been agreed by the responses of all the wise that it will be most unjust. For Venus is badly placed if it has been placed with the Sun; for it does not rejoice when associated with the light of the Sun, and whatever seems evil and wretched in human affairs, all of this it decrees for men when placed with the Sun. But it rejoices when placed behind the Sun, that is, as a morning star; then whatever good it has decreed when placed with the benefics will grow with a stronger increase of good fortune.

〔三十三〕但倘若金星在我们所说的这个宫位与太阳同在，众智者的回答一致认为它会极不公正。因为金星倘若与太阳同在，就是落位不佳；因为它与太阳的光结伴时并不喜乐，凡人事中看来邪恶悲惨的，它与太阳同在时都判给人。但它落在太阳之后，即作为晨星时，就喜乐；那时它与吉星同在时所判定的一切好事，都会以更强的好运增长。

[34] But if it has been found to be the lady of the Ascendant and is itself the lady of the whole nativity, or if it has itself decreed life, placed in good signs and in favorable places of the nativity, it bestows the greatest length of life. But if in a day nativity it has stood against the giver of life, or the lord of the nativity, or the lord of the Ascendant, it takes away eight years from the span of life that has been decreed; and so placed it decrees defects, but such as are not stained with grave infamy.

〔三十四〕但倘若它被发现是上升点的女主，自己又是整个本命的女主，或它自己判定了寿命，落在好星座和本命的吉利宫位，就赐予极长的寿数。但倘若在白天的本命盘里它与赐命星、或本命之主、或上升点之主作对，就从所判定的寿数中减去八年；这样落位时它判定毛病，但是不会被严重恶名所玷污的那种。

[35] But in the case of Venus too, inquire likewise into its dodecatemory and terms, so that by every method you may find the secrets of the decrees.
