XIV. Chapter: If You Want to Ask a Need, a Gift, or Something Else of a Governor or of a Man.

第十四章　论向官长或某人求事、求赐或求其他。

[1] Ask it when the Moon is in the Ascendant or in its trine, and the Moon is increasing in her reckoning and in light; or when the lord of the Ascendant is direct in its course, not retrograde, and is with the Moon in one sign, and the Moon applies to it.

[1] 要在月亮位于上升或其三方、推算值与光都在增长时去求；或在上升的主星顺行不逆、与月亮同在一个星座、月亮入相位于它时去求。

[2] It is better if the Moon is in her own house or regards her house, and Mercury is with Jupiter; and let her be configured with Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, and the planets that are well placed, and let the testimony of the malefics be absent.

[2] 更好的是月亮在自己的庙或照见自己的庙，水星与木星同在；并让她与水星、木星、金星及位置良好的诸星成相位，不要有凶星作证。

[3] For if the need is asked while Mercury is with Saturn, or Saturn regards him from a strong place, he will not be granted his intercession, nor will he obtain that need.

[3] 因为若在水星与土星同在、或土星从有力的位置照见水星时求事，他的请托不会被接受，所求之事也得不到。

[4] If he asks the need while Mercury is with Venus, and his request is to women and is for something that delights him and with which he amuses himself, his intercession will be granted in it; the same configuration is good for making petitions to women and to men.

[4] 若在水星与金星同在时求事，所求的对象是女人，求的是让他高兴、供他消遣的东西，他的请托就会被接受；同一个配置也适合向女人和男人求见、陈请。

[5] If the need and the request are to kings, nobles, and commanders, avoid asking it at an hour in which Jupiter is retrograde, or at an hour in which Saturn regards Jupiter.

[5] 若是向国王、显贵、将领求事，不要在木星逆行的时刻，或土星照见木星的时刻去求。

[6] If the need is to merchants, or to scholars, men of letters, and accountants, ask it at an hour in which Mercury is strong.

[6] 若是向商人，或向学者、文士、会计求事，就在水星有力的时刻去求。

[7] If the need is to an old man, or to a man who has no offspring, or to a man charged with an offence, or to slaves, ask it at an hour in which Saturn is strong.

[7] 若是向老人、无后之人、负罪受押之人，或向奴仆求事，就在土星有力的时刻去求。

Fit the planets to the persons: military persons to Mars, princely and royal ones to Jupiter, the aged to Saturn, women to Venus, and the learned to Mercury.

要把行星配给人：军人配火星，王侯配木星，老人配土星，女人配金星，读书人配水星。
