XI. Chapter: On Buying Slaves.

第十一章　论买奴仆。

One must examine from the Moon whether the slave who is being sold is injured or not.

要从月亮看所卖的奴仆有没有伤残。

[1] If you want to buy a slave and the Moon is in Aries, this signifies that the slave will be a runaway, wandering and vagrant, who does not settle himself to stay and is disobedient to his master.

[1] 若你想买奴仆，而月亮在白羊，表示这奴仆会逃走，游荡流浪，不肯安心留下，违抗主人。

[2] If the Moon is in Taurus, the slave who is bought will be hardworking, enduring, strong, obedient, devoted with all his heart to the work of slaves, and humble.

[2] 若月亮在金牛，买来的奴仆勤劳、能忍耐、强壮、顺从，全心尽奴仆之职，谦卑。

[3] It is likewise if the Moon is in the last degrees of Gemini, that is, in its third decan.

[3] 若月亮在双子末几度，即其第三旬，也是如此。

[4] If the Moon is in Cancer and you buy a slave, he is weak, lazy, treacherous, and deceitful.

[4] 若月亮在巨蟹时买奴仆，他软弱、懒惰、不忠、狡诈。

[5] If the Moon is in Leo, the slave who is bought will be noble and capable, turning out well at a craft and well brought up, except that he will be irascible, gluttonous, and greedy [text uncertain]; for that reason pains of the belly and the stomach will keep befalling him; and he will be a pilferer.

[5] 若月亮在狮子，买来的奴仆高贵能干，学手艺学得好，教养也好，只是易怒、贪吃、贪婪〔原文疑有讹误〕，因此常犯腹痛胃痛；他还会顺手偷东西。

[6] If the Moon is in Virgo, the slave who is bought will be intelligent and clever, retentive, hardworking, and loyal to his master.

[6] 若月亮在处女，买来的奴仆聪明伶俐、记性好、勤劳、对主人忠心。

[7] If the Moon is in Libra, the slave who is bought will be devoted to his work, skilled at it, just, and learned in religion and in disputes.

[7] 若月亮在天秤，买来的奴仆专心于工作，精于其事，公正，通晓宗教与讼事。

[8] If the Moon is in Scorpio, the slave who is bought will be a thief and a runaway, strong, deceitful in character, and morose.

[8] 若月亮在天蝎，买来的奴仆是贼、会逃走，强壮，性情狡诈，阴郁。

[9] If she is in Sagittarius, the origin of the slave who is bought will not be good, but he will be capable, with conceit and self-admiration in him.

[9] 若她在射手，买来的奴仆出身不好，但能干，有骄矜自负之气。

[10] If the Moon is in Capricorn, the slave who is bought will be a liar, changeable of mind, never ceasing to turn from one state to another, and some of them make a habit of running away.

[10] 若月亮在摩羯，买来的奴仆好说谎，反复无常，总是变来变去，其中有的惯于逃跑。

[11] If the Moon is in Aquarius, the slave who is bought will be fond of work and good, because Aquarius is in the form of a man.

[11] 若月亮在水瓶，买来的奴仆爱干活、品性好，因为水瓶是人的形象。

[12] If the Moon is in Pisces, the slave who is bought will be bad and abusive, a talebearer, harbouring in himself deceit and backbiting against his master.

[12] 若月亮在双鱼，买来的奴仆坏而好骂人，搬弄是非，心里藏着欺骗，背后诽谤主人。

[13] If at the buying of slaves the Ascendant is one of the signs in which I have described the position of the Moon, it signifies the same.

[13] 若买奴仆时上升是我讲过月亮所在的这些星座之一，所主相同。

[14] This is what the Ascendant and the Moon indicate when the benefics and the malefics do not regard the Moon and the Ascendant and are not with them in a sign.

[14] 以上是在吉星凶星不照见月亮和上升、也不与它们同在一个星座时，上升与月亮所指示的。

[15] Look also at the condition of the seven and their power, for they are much stronger than the signs.

[15] 还要看七星的状况与力量，因为它们比星座有力得多。
