II. Judgement on the Crooked and the Straight Signs.

第二章　论斜升与直升星座的判断。

[1] In every inception, look at the sign that is rising at that hour: is it of straight rising or of crooked rising?

[1] 每次起事，都要看那个时刻正在上升的星座：它是直升的还是斜升的？

[2] If it is of crooked rising, that work will be difficult and slow, and toil, hardship, and expense will enter into it.

[2] 若是斜升星座，这件事就难办而迟缓，其中会有劳苦、艰难与耗费。

But if a sign of straight rising is in the Ascendant and is unafflicted, it brings the matter to completion quickly and without hindrance.

若上升是直升星座而且未受克，事情就会迅速、无阻地办成。

[3] Then look at the positions of the seven in the places: for if someone begins a work while the Ascendant is one of the signs of crooked rising, and there is a benefic in it, or a benefic regards the Ascendant or the Moon, it removes its crookedness and helps that work to succeed, by God's leave.

[3] 然后看七星落在哪些宫位：若有人起事时上升是斜升星座，而有吉星在其中，或有吉星照见上升或月亮，这就去掉它的斜曲，帮这件事成功——凭真主的允许。

[4] If the Ascendant is of straight rising and a malefic falls in it or regards it, or regards the Moon, slowness, trouble, and toil enter into that work.

[4] 若上升是直升星座，而有凶星落在其中或照见它，或照见月亮，这件事就会迟缓、生乱、劳苦。

[5] If you find the benefics and the malefics together in the Ascendant, or regarding the Ascendant, know that the work will be middling, with a mixture of good and evil in it, and its outcome uncertain.

[5] 若见吉星与凶星同在上升，或一同照见上升，要知道这件事不上不下，吉凶参半，结局也不确定。
