第二十一章　〔章题缺〕

If the third sign from the Ascendant is bicorporeal, or its lord is in a bicorporeal or double-natured sign, it makes mixed brothers, that is, brothers from different parents.

若上升起算的第三个星座是双体星座，或其庙主在双体或双重性质的星座，主有混杂的兄弟，即同父异母或同母异父的兄弟。

Examine also whether the third sign from the Ascendant is a sign without seed; the signs without seed are these: Gemini, Leo, Virgo, Capricorn, Sagittarius.

还要查上升起算的第三个星座是不是无子之星座；无子的星座是：双子、狮子、处女、摩羯、射手。

You will learn the ages of the brothers in this way.

兄弟的长幼可以这样得知。

Saturn signifies the elder brothers, the Sun, Mars, and Jupiter the middle ones, Mercury the younger; the Moon signifies the elder sisters, and Venus the younger.

土星主兄长，太阳、火星、木星主居中的兄弟，水星主弟弟；月亮主姐姐，金星主妹妹。

If the first and second lords of the triplicity of Mars are badly placed, they make the native have few brothers, especially if they are in bad phases.

若火星的第一、第二三分主位置不佳，主此人兄弟稀少，尤其它们又处在不好的相态时。

If the first lord of the triplicity is in a good place and the second in a bad one, it signifies that he will lose his brothers.

若第一三分主在好的宫位，第二三分主在坏的宫位，主他会失去兄弟。

For the sake of an example, let Saturn, the Sun, and the Moon be in Taurus, the sign in the Midheaven, the Ascendant in Leo, Jupiter in Aquarius, Mars in Gemini.

举例来说：设土星、太阳、月亮在金牛，即中天所在的星座，上升在狮子，木星在水瓶，火星在双子。

The lords of the triplicity of Mars, which signify the brothers, are Saturn and Mercury.

火星的三分主，即主兄弟的星，是土星和水星。

I take the count toward the Ascendant, since both Mercury and Saturn were in the hemisphere above the earth; if they had been in the subterranean hemisphere, I would have counted from the Ascendant to the lords of the triplicity of Mars.

我向上升方向计数，因为水星和土星都在地上半球；若它们在地下半球，我就从上升数到火星的三分主。

I find, then, from the Midheaven to the Ascendant four signs, three single and one bicorporeal; say that he has as many brothers as this number, five.

于是我数得从中天到上升共四个星座，三个单体、一个双体；就说他有这个数目的兄弟，即五个。

He says one must also compare the lords of the lots with one another, and their places and their terms.

他说还须把诸点之主互相比较，也比较它们的位置与界。

For if they are oriental, in their own places, and of the sect, they give brothers who will live and be fortunate.

因为若它们是东出的、在自己的位置、又属当令的区分，就给予能存活且有福的兄弟。

Consider what kind of brothers he will have from the nativity set out above: since the Lot of Brothers and the lords of the triplicity of Mars fell in Taurus, a feminine sign, there is a sister; but since Saturn was there, she will die; and after Saturn, the Sun and Mercury again kill another brother before him.

他会有怎样的兄弟，可从上面这张盘看：兄弟点和火星的三分主落在金牛，阴性星座，所以有一个姐妹；但因土星在那里，她会死去；土星之后，太阳与水星又使他之前的另一个兄弟死去。

[21] Some of the learned look, in a diurnal nativity, at how many planets are above the earth, and in a nocturnal one how many are below the earth; according to that number you state the brothers.

[21] 有些学者在白天的盘里看地上有几颗行星，在夜里的盘里看地下有几颗，按这个数目说兄弟的数目。

[22] If Jupiter regards the Moon from the right trine and the Lot of Brothers is with Jupiter, it indicates that he has brothers older than he.

[22] 若木星从右方三分照见月亮，兄弟点又与木星同在，表示他有比他年长的兄弟。

[23] If you find the Sun regarding the Moon in the same way, it indicates brothers who are older than he.

[23] 若见太阳以同样方式照见月亮，也表示有比他年长的兄弟。

[24] If you find Mercury in the Ascendant, say that he has no brothers older than he, or, if there were, they have perished.

[24] 若见水星在上升，就说他没有比他年长的兄弟；即便有，也已亡故。

[25] If you find the Moon separating from Saturn, especially by night, say that he will have no use from the brothers born before him, for they die, and nothing remains of them but the name of elder brothers.

[25] 若见月亮离开土星，尤其在夜里，就说他从先他而生的兄弟那里得不到益处，因为他们会死去，只留下兄长的名分。

[26] If the Moon separates from Mars, it indicates the like.

[26] 若月亮离开火星，所主相同。

[27] If she separates from Venus, he has a sister older than he, and he loves the works of Venus; in old age he will be better off than in his youth, in his property and in his affairs.

[27] 若她离开金星，他有一个比他年长的姐姐，他也喜爱金星之事；到老年，他的财产与营生会比少年时更好。

[28] If the Moon separates from Mercury, that native is not the eldest of his brothers; he will be forbearing, complete in intelligence and in the dyeing of things [text uncertain], and he is praised for this.

[28] 若月亮离开水星，此人不是兄弟中最年长的；他会宽厚，心智完备，善于给物件着色〔原文疑有讹误〕，并因此受称誉。

[29] Look also, together with this, at the kinds of the signs, for in them the verification of this will become clear to you.

[29] 同时还要看星座的种类，从中可以印证这些判断。

[30] If you find the Sun in the Ascendant, there is no good in it for the matter of brothers.

[30] 若见太阳在上升，对兄弟之事没有好处。

[31] If you find Mars and Saturn in the Ascendant or the Midheaven, or in the places following the Ascendant and the tenth, this is the worst thing in the matter of brothers; for one has often seen in such a case that he had no brothers, or those he had did not survive, and they were enemies to one another.

[31] 若见火星与土星在上升或中天，或在紧随上升与第十宫的宫位，这对兄弟之事最坏；常见这种情形下此人没有兄弟，或有也活不长，而且彼此为仇。

[32] When you find Mars in the twelfth, or in the IC, or in the angle of the seventh, there is no good in the matter of brothers, especially if you find the lord of the Ascendant or the lord of the Moon with Mars, or Mars regarding Mercury.

[32] 若见火星在第十二宫，或在天底，或在第七宫之角，兄弟之事没有好处；尤其上升之主或月亮之主与火星同在，或火星照见水星时。

[33] The most severe of this is when Mars, in such a nativity, is the lord of the Ascendant and of the Moon, for it signifies the enmity of the brothers toward one another.

[33] 最严重的是在这样的盘里火星就是上升与月亮之主，主兄弟彼此为敌。

[34] But if Mars is in the place of Mercury or regards him, quarrelling falls among the brothers, until the quarrel breeds evil and reaches a grave matter, especially if Mars regards the Moon or the Lot of Brothers.

[34] 若火星在水星的位置或照见水星，兄弟之间会起争执，以至争执生祸、酿成大事；尤其火星又照见月亮或兄弟点时。

[35] If you want to know what benefit he has from his brothers and what loss from them,

[35] 若要知道他从兄弟那里得益还是受损，

[36] look at the Lot of Fortune and the Lot of Brothers, and at the planets that regard them or are in them: if you find the Lot of Fortune and the Lot of Brothers together, he has benefit from his brothers, and when they die he inherits their property.

[36] 就看福点与兄弟点，以及照见它们或在其中的行星：若见福点与兄弟点在一起，他从兄弟得益，兄弟死后他继承他们的财产。

[37] Likewise, if you find the lord of the Lot of Fortune with the Lot of Brothers, or the lord of the Lot of Brothers, being the lord of the third from the Ascendant, with the Lot of Fortune, this too indicates benefit from them.

[37] 同样，若见福点之主与兄弟点同在，或兄弟点之主、也就是上升起第三宫之主，与福点同在，也表示从兄弟得益。

[38] Look into who will see the death of his brothers: look at these two lots and count from the degree of the lot to the degree at which Saturn casts his ray by square, opposition, or conjunction; at that time the native will see the death of his brothers, especially if Mars regards that place or stays in it.

[38] 要看谁会见到兄弟之死：看这两个点，从点的度数数到土星以四分、对冲或同宫投射光线的度数；到那时此人会见到兄弟之死，尤其火星照见或停留在那个位置时。

[39] If he stays there, it is evil, and worst of all if Jupiter does not regard.

[39] 若火星停留在那里，就是凶事；若木星又不照见，最坏。

[40] If Saturn and Mars, in the place of the lot, regard Mercury, it indicates the destruction of his younger brothers; if it is Venus, the sisters; and all of this is after this fashion.

[40] 若土星与火星在点的位置照见水星，主他的弟弟们亡故；若照见的是金星，则是姐妹；一切都照此推。
