XXXVII. Chapter: On Treating Spirits.
[1] If there is something in a man's house like a demon, or something you want to drive out of it, or you see in it evil and frightening signs, or jinn, and you want to drive this out of it with drugs or with incantations, or by petitioning for it, or treat it with a remedy of religion or of medicine, or with some other device, to purify that place and dwelling, begin it when the Ascendant and the Moon are in Aries, or in Taurus, or in Gemini.

[2] But blazing Cancer is not sufficient for these things, nor Leo: avoid beginning it when the Ascendant and the Moon are in Cancer or Leo.

[4] But Scorpio, scratching the earth with its feet, is no longer such: there is no good in it if they are in Scorpio.
[5] In the Archer and in Capricorn you will succeed in it: it is good.
[6] But when the Hour or the Moon has stepped into Aquarius, you will accomplish everything in vain: if they are in Aquarius, there is no good in it.
[7] In the Fishes it is possible to drive grievous things away from him: if they are in Pisces, it is good.
[8] Let Zeus and Aphrogenes stand by the Hour and the Moon, or look on, for they will at once scatter the affliction: the best and strongest for it is when Jupiter and Venus are with the Moon or in the Ascendant.
