XXIII. The Sub-Allotments of Venus.

第二十三章　金星的次分配。

Venus, sub-allotting to herself and well placed, brings friendships and recommendations, the sympathies of males and females, gifts and delightful liaisons, marriages, the goodwill of members of the household, pleasures, and benefits. But if she is found with Saturn or Mars, or is regarded by them, or happens to be in unproductive signs, she brings reproaches, public exposures, and adulteries, losses and rejections, deceits of women, lawsuits and unsettledness; and likewise for women from men.

金星把次分配给自己而位置良好时，带来友谊与推荐、男女的同情、礼物与可喜的情缘、婚姻、家人的好意、享乐与利益。但若发现她与土星或火星同在，或受它们照看，或恰在不得力的星座，她就带来责难、公开的丑闻与通奸、损失与被拒绝、女人的欺诈、诉讼与不安定；对女人来说，来自男人的也一样。

Venus to the Sun makes the period glorious and acquisitive, recommending and beneficial with respect to male and female persons, with liaisons, marriages, the begetting of children, purchases and gifts of ornaments and of slaves, and glory for the father, for those who have one, or sympathy and benefits from such persons, especially if they happen to be well configured. For those in eminence she brings the wearing of crowns, high priesthoods, advancements, and offices, and brings about gifts to the crowds, oracles, natives privy to secret or divine matters, charm, and merriment.

金星交给太阳，使这段时期荣耀而有获取，在男性与女性之人方面多推荐而有益，有情缘、婚姻、子女的生育、饰物与奴仆的购置与馈赠，对有父亲的人是父亲的荣耀，或来自这类人的同情与利益，尤其若它们恰好格局良好。对居高位者，她带来戴冠、大祭司之职、晋升与官职，并带来对民众的馈赠、神谕、本命者得知秘密或神圣之事、魅力与欢乐。

Venus to the Moon, well placed and configured in favourable places, shows the period to be acquisitive and beneficial, adorns the native with display in his livelihood, and provides distinguished glories, but with jealousy, rivalry, faction, and some secret envies; she usually brings the acquisitions and benefits incomplete or only in part. Badly configured, she produces wrongs and enmities from male and female persons, suspense, and unsettledness toward kin and friendly persons; for their transmission is in general jealous and contentious.

金星交给月亮，位置良好而在有利之位成格局时，显示这段时期有获取而有益，以生计上的排场装点本命者，并提供显赫的荣耀，但伴着嫉妒、竞争、派系与某些暗中的妒忌；她通常带来不完整或只得一部分的获取与利益。格局不好时，她造成来自男女之人的不公与敌意、悬而未决，以及对亲属与友人的不安定；因为她们的交付总的说是嫉妒而好争的。

Venus to Saturn shows the period to be in suspense and harmful, and brings separations from women, quarrels, outrages, public exposures, wrongs, enmities of the mother or of women or of kin, or dishonour, and disputes with older persons or partners; it entangles natives in reproaches or disgraceful sufferings, and in insecure friendships and liaisons. Natives go to law against women and endure counter-suits, suffer coolings of places or of affairs, fall into sicknesses and pains of the hidden parts or of the sense organs, are abused by plots and poisons, and by long-lasting sufferings, especially when Mars or Mercury testifies as well.

金星交给土星，显示这段时期悬而未决而有害，带来与女人的离别、争吵、凌辱、公开的丑闻、不公，母亲、女人或亲属的敌意，或羞辱，与年长者或合伙人的争执；它使本命者卷入责难或可耻的苦痛，卷入不稳的友谊与情缘。本命者与女人打官司并遭受反诉，遭受处所或事务的冷却，陷入疾病与隐秘部位或感官的疼痛，受阴谋与毒药、受长久苦痛的凌辱，尤其当火星或水星也作见证时。

Venus to Jupiter shows the year to be good and acquisitive, and brings recommendations of greater persons and gifts, offices, civic and popular display, glories and advancements, marriages, the counsels [text uncertain] and friendships of female persons, conceptions and the begetting of children, and charm in what is undertaken. And if someone is moderate, he will fare well and will have release from bad things or from subjection, will be deemed worthy of trust or honour, and will be adorned in the substance about him.

金星交给木星，显示这一年良好而有获取，带来较大人物的推荐与礼物、官职、城邦与民众中的排场、荣耀与晋升、婚姻、女性之人的谋议〔原文疑有讹误〕与友谊、受孕与子女的生育，以及所从事之事上的魅力。若某人是中等之人，他会顺遂，从坏事或从隶属中解脱，被认为配得信任或荣誉，并在周身的家业上增光。

Venus to Mars: the year is in suspense; quarrels with women, separations, haemorrhages, miscarriages of women, or the death of the mother; some also plead lawsuits on account of women, enduring rivalries and enmities, public exposures, reproaches, or adulteries; they are wronged or betrayed, and, acting against their intention or dissembling, they bear the punishment. Sometimes, then, even while considering the separation from their partner something to be prayed for, they hold on because of some expected hopes [lacuna], with much-talked-of notoriety.

金星交给火星：这一年悬而未决；与女人争吵、离别、出血、女人流产，或母亲之死；有些人也为女人打官司，遭受竞争与敌意、公开的丑闻、责难或通奸；他们受不公或被出卖，违背本意行事或作伪装，承受惩罚。于是有时他们即使认为与伴侣分离是求之不得的，也因某些期待的希望而维持着〔此处原文有缺〕，伴着众口相传的恶名。

Venus to Mercury shows the period to be active and enterprising in giving and receiving and in trade, and for those devoted to speech or education it secures friendships, purchases of ornaments and slaves, partnerships and unions of males and females, glories and honours, success in affairs, natives privy to secrets, trusts of deposits, and the sympathies of kin.

金星交给水星，显示这段时期在给予与接受、在买卖上有作为而进取，对专注于言辞或教养的人，带来友谊、饰物与奴仆的购置、男女的合伙与结合、荣耀与荣誉、事务成功、本命者得知秘密、受托寄存之物，以及亲属的同情。

XXIV. The Sub-Allotments of Mercury.

第二十四章　水星的次分配。

Mercury, sub-allotting to himself, is active and beneficial in enterprises and trusts, and makes natives successful in their undertakings and superior to their enemies, acting with dissimulation and in secret, setting affairs right, and receiving successes from words or reckonings; and especially if he happens to be oriental, or in productive signs, or is regarded by Jupiter and Venus, he shows greater and beneficial trusts; but under malefics he is indicative of fears and adversities.

水星把次分配给自己，在营谋与受托上有作为而有益，使本命者在事业上成功、胜过仇敌，以伪装与暗中的方式行事，把事务理顺，从言辞或计算中得到成功；尤其若他恰好东出，或在得力的星座，或受木星与金星照看，就显出更大而有益的受托；但在凶星之下，他象征恐惧与逆境。

Mercury, handing over the year to the Sun, is enterprising, sociable, and active, bringing recommendations of the great, requests, and gifts, but with postponements and hindrances, stewardships, presidencies, and inquiries into secret matters, and is glorious and beneficial for those who live by speech and education. Natives prevail by accomplishing most things in secret and with dissimulation.

水星把这一年交给太阳，进取、善交际而有作为，带来大人物的推荐、请求与礼物，但伴着推迟与阻碍，有管理之职、主席之位与对秘密之事的查问，对靠言辞与教养为生的人荣耀而有益。本命者靠暗中与伪装完成大多数事而得胜。

Mercury to the Moon shows the year to be active, especially if the Moon happens to be well configured and oriental and they are in productive places; it brings recommendations of male and female persons, benefits from affairs, successes, and trusts, and is successful in what is undertaken and sympathetic toward greater persons. But if it is unfavourably placed or regarded by malefics, it brings lawsuits and expenditures, or abuses and threats of the great, confinements or fears, and betrayals of secrets.

水星交给月亮，显示这一年有作为，尤其若月亮恰好格局良好且东出，而它们又在得力的位置；它带来男女之人的推荐、从事务中得利、成功与受托，在所从事的事上成功，对较大人物有亲和。但若它位置不利或受凶星照看，就带来诉讼与开销，或大人物的凌辱与威胁、拘禁或恐惧，以及秘密被出卖。

Mercury to Saturn shows the year to be troubled and dangerous, bringing upheavals of affairs, abuses, losses, and lawsuits on account of secrets, or writings, or loans. Natives come into sicknesses or consumptions and diseases, are troubled by bile, or have experience of poisons, witness the deaths of their own people, or brothers, or children, and go to law or dispute over matters of the dead. And if, being in opposition or square, or having fallen badly, they are regarded by Mars, natives also contrive something dangerous against themselves, fall into shipwrecks and tumbles, and live painfully. But when configured in fitting positions, they bring glories and success in affairs with expenditures and postponement; and when turned away, they will be moderate as to the ailments.

水星交给土星，显示这一年困扰而危险，带来事务的翻覆、凌辱、损失，以及因秘事、文书或借贷而来的诉讼。本命者陷入疾病或消耗之病，受胆汁困扰，或经历毒药，目睹自己人、兄弟或子女的死亡，并为死者之事打官司或争执。若它们在对冲或四分，或落得不好，又受火星照看，本命者还会策划危害自己的事，陷入船难与摔跌，活得痛苦。但当它们在相宜的位置成格局时，就带来荣耀与事务的成功，伴着开销与推迟；当它们不相照时，在病患上就会适中。

Mercury to Jupiter is active and enterprising, bringing recommendations and friendships, success in affairs, stewardships, natives who are diviners, and successes in matters of words and reckonings; but in general natives are troubled among the crowds and endure notoriety and fears, are overturned by untimely expenditures, are unsettled toward household, friendly, or kin persons, and endure a bodily contest, even if not their own, yet on behalf of others.

水星交给木星，有作为而进取，带来推荐与友谊、事务成功、管理之职、成为占卜者的本命者，以及在言辞与计算之事上的成功；但总的说，本命者在众人中受困扰，遭受恶名与恐惧，被不合时的开销倾覆，对家人、友人或亲属之人不安定，并经受一场身体的较量，即使不是为自己，也是为别人。

Mercury to Mars is not good; he brings enmities and lawsuits, losses and villainies, forgeries, sureties and loans, attacks and robberies, instabilities and betrayals, and the unsettledness of members of the household. Sometimes, then, natives themselves will do the same to others; but in their enterprises they become bold and active, and they manage in varied ways, contriving enterprises, and live in fear and trouble, expecting suspicious charges or ruin.

水星交给火星不好；他带来敌意与诉讼、损失与奸恶、伪造、担保与借贷、攻击与劫掠、不稳与出卖，以及家人的不安定。于是有时本命者自己也会对别人做同样的事；但在营谋中他们变得大胆而有作为，以多种方式经营，设计营谋，活在恐惧与困扰中，等着可疑的指控或毁败。

Mercury to Venus shows the period to be good and active in giving and receiving, with charming purchases and contracts, and beneficial for those who live through speech, or education, or stewardship; natives acquire recommendations, new friendships, and liaisons, and are involved in entanglements with males and females. For those established in greater fortune it brings the acquisition of slaves and ornaments, makes them successful in requests, friendships, and advancements, and beneficent toward their own people.

水星交给金星，显示这段时期良好，在给予与接受上有作为，有迷人的购置与契约，对靠言辞、教养或管理为生的人有益；本命者得到推荐、新的友谊与情缘，卷入与男女的纠葛。对处在较大好运中的人，它带来奴仆与饰物的获取，使他们在请求、友谊与晋升上成功，并对自己人施恩。
