XXV. The Allotments of the Four Lots.

第二十五章　四点的分配。

The Lot of Fortune, handing over or receiving in productive places while benefics are upon it or testify, shows good fortune and advancement, undertakings and glories, success in affairs, the fulfilment of what is expected, and benefits from matters of the dead. But when cadent or receiving testimony from malefics, it provides lesser undertakings or glories, which do not last, or whatever natives accomplish is accompanied by adversities and dangers, or lawsuits and abuses.

福点在得力的位置交出或接受，而有吉星在其上或作见证时，显示好运与晋升、事业与荣耀、事务成功、所期待之事的实现，以及从死者之事得益。但当它落果或受凶星见证时，就提供较小的事业或荣耀，而且不持久，或本命者所成就的，都伴着逆境与危险，或诉讼与凌辱。

The Daemon, handing over or receiving in productive places while benefics are upon it, brings about intentions fulfilled as one desires, discerning and successful reasonings, beneficial counsels of friends, recommendations of the great, gifts and glory, and makes natives successful in their enterprises, elated in mind and holding a very high opinion of themselves. But when it has fallen out of the favourable places or receives testimony from malefics, it brings suspense and torments of the soul, insensibility and wrong-headed counsels, natives thinking their own errors to be successes and laying the blame on others, while missing the mark in most things. Hence such natives, losing heart, sometimes even contrive something dangerous against themselves, are regarded as mad, and come into derangement of mind.

精灵点在得力的位置交出或接受，而有吉星在其上时，带来如愿实现的意图、明辨而成功的思虑、朋友有益的谋议、大人物的推荐、礼物与荣耀，使本命者在营谋中成功，心志昂扬，自视极高。但当它已失位或受凶星见证时，就带来悬而未决与灵魂的折磨、麻木与乖谬的谋划，本命者把自己的错误当作成功，把过错推给别人，而在大多数事上都失了准头。因此这样的本命者灰心丧气，有时甚至策划危害自己的事，被视为疯狂，陷入心智的错乱。

Eros, handing over or receiving in productive places while benefics are upon it or testify, produces well-intentioned desires and lovers of beautiful things; for some turn to education and bodily exercise or music and, flattered with pleasure by the hope to come, consider the distress [text uncertain] no toil, while others, charmed by the pleasures of love and liaisons with women and men, consider this a good. Mars and Mercury, testifying to or being upon the place, especially in their own signs, make lovers of boys, or natives reproached for both kinds, or lovers of arms, of hunting, and of the wrestling-school; Venus makes liaisons with women, and sometimes, being loved, they love in return. Likewise each of the planets that has been allotted the place, or testifies to it, or receives the period, will produce the kind of desire according to its own nature. In general, then, when malefics are upon it or testify, the matters of desire will come to torment, loss, and danger. If somehow Saturn is present with Venus and the Moon or testifies, natives love shameful and licentious deeds, are reproached concerning males and females, and endure notoriety, or, repenting, turn back, overcome by the passion. If somehow Jupiter testifies as well, what happens will be creditable or powerful, or secret. When Mars and Mercury are upon it, or testify, or receive the period, natives love villainous affairs or robbery; for they become forgers, snatchers, housebreakers, gamblers, having a mind become bestial. If Venus testifies as well, poisoners, adulterers, murderers; hence in the periods that apply, involved in sureties and loans and having experience of confinement or a lawsuit for villainies, they live dangerously. The place is powerful for many things, so one must attend to it. The Lot of Eros is taken by day from the Lot of Fortune to that of the Daemon and the equal amount from the Ascendant, by night the reverse.

爱欲点在得力的位置交出或接受，而有吉星在其上或作见证时，造成善意的欲望与爱美之人；因为有些人转向教养与身体的锻炼或音乐，被将来的希望以快乐奉承着，认为辛苦〔原文疑有讹误〕不算劳苦；另一些人被爱的欢愉与同女人、同男人的情缘所迷，认为这是好事。火星与水星为此位作见证或在其上，尤其在它们自己的星座时，使人成为爱少年者，或因两类而受责难之人，或爱兵器、爱狩猎、爱角力学校之人；金星造成同女人的情缘，有时他们被爱，也回报以爱。同样，分得此位、或为它作见证、或接受这段时期的每颗行星，都会按自己的本性造成那一类欲望。所以总的说，当凶星在其上或作见证时，欲望之事会转成折磨、损失与危险。若土星以某种方式与金星、月亮同在或作见证，本命者爱可耻与放荡的行为，在男性与女性方面受责难，遭受恶名，或者悔悟回头，却被激情制服。若木星也以某种方式作见证，所发生的会是体面的或有权势的，或隐秘的。当火星与水星在其上、或作见证、或接受这段时期时，本命者爱奸恶之事或劫掠；因为他们成为伪造者、抢夺者、破门入室者、赌徒，心志变得如野兽一般。若金星也作见证，就是下毒者、通奸者、杀人者；因此在相应的时期，他们卷入担保与借贷，因奸恶而经历拘禁或官司，活在危险中。此位对许多事都有力，所以必须留意它。爱欲点的求法：白天从福点量到精灵点，再从上升点量出相等的距离；夜里反过来。

Necessity, handing over or receiving in productive places while benefics are upon it or testify, brings associations, greater recommendations, and the ruin or deaths of enemies; but when malefics are upon it, it brings disputes, lawsuits, and expenditures; hence natives, acting against their intention, live in grief. If somehow the configuration is afflicted, some are condemned or brought down. Take it from the Daemon to Fortune, and by night the reverse.

必然点在得力的位置交出或接受，而有吉星在其上或作见证时，带来结交、更大的推荐，以及仇敌的毁败或死亡；但当凶星在其上时，就带来争执、诉讼与开销；因此本命者违背本意行事，活在忧伤中。若格局以某种方式受伤，有些人会被定罪或被拉下。求法是从精灵点量到福点，夜里反过来。

These things have been distinguished for male nativities and periods; likewise they will apply to female nativities too, according to the fitting configurations of the transmissions and what can be received.

The Moon, 1st, 1 year; Mercury, 2nd, 2 years; Venus, 3rd, 3 years; the Sun, 4th, 4 years; Mars, 5th, 5 years; Jupiter, 6th, 6 years; Saturn, 7th, 7 years: this makes 28 years. The single degree comes about thus: in whatever sign the Moon is, the lord of that sign becomes first and receives, then the others according to the zones. For example, for the sake of illustration, let the Moon be in Libra at 6 degrees: first Venus will receive, second Mercury, third the Moon, fourth Saturn, fifth Jupiter, sixth Mars: the single degree is Mars's. Mars, then, the lord of the single degree of the Moon, will receive first, 5 years, then the planets that lie next after Mars in the nativity; and after the 28 years are completed, begin again from the planet lying after Mars. Make also the 10 years and 9 months, by day from the Sun and by night from the Moon. But if by day the Sun is badly placed, begin from the Moon; likewise by night from the Sun. And if the Sun and the Moon prove to be without authority, begin from the ruler or from some other well-placed planet.

XXVII. Another Way, from Seuthes, on Years, from the Teachings of Hermeias [text uncertain], Making the Release from the Sun, or the Moon, or the Ascendant, or the Lot of Fortune.

第二十七章　另一法，出自修索斯，论年，据赫尔墨亚斯的教诲〔原文疑有讹误〕，从太阳、月亮、上升点或福点作释放。

There are places from which the beginning of the year is taken, namely the Sun, the Moon, the Ascendant, or the Lot of Fortune. The determination is as follows: when the Sun is angular, one must count from him; by night from the Moon, likewise when she is angular by degree; when these are wanting, from the Ascendant; and if the Lot of Fortune is angular while the luminaries are wanting, make the beginning of the year from it. Likewise it will be inappropriate, for those who have the luminaries succeeding the angles, to begin from the one contrary to its own sect; for by our procedure you will learn more strongly in which signs the year of the nativity, as it moves on, is productive. By day, from the Sun, if he happens to be in the Ascendant or at the Midheaven; if not, cast out from the ascending sign, and, wherever the year ends, cast out the year from the lord of the place where it was in the nativity. By night, from the Moon, if she happens to be as I said of the Sun, especially if she is oriental and adding to her numbers; but for the two luminaries [text uncertain], if she is not full and is subtracting in number, from the bond, if she alone is angular and lying at her greatest. If not, as has been written above, from the lord of the place where the count from the Ascendant ends. For if you find the signs angular or benefited, or made causes [text uncertain] by the planets present upon them or regarding them, in the first arrangement and at the transit, it shows that the effects of the years will be good; but when the places are bad, the opposite will result, since the oriental planets regarding them also provide action, while the occidental ones bring inactivity and ruin of what is undertaken, unless the affairs happen to be secret.
