XXII. On Glorious and Distinguished Nativities; Likewise on Inglorious Ones and Those That Fall from Their Fortune.

第二十二章　论荣耀而出众的本命；同样也论不荣耀的、从好运中跌落的本命。

These places too, since they are powerful, I have of necessity appended to the account of glorious and distinguished nativities. If the Sun and the Moon, being in productive signs, are attended by spear-bearers from most of the planets while these are oriental, and none of the malefics opposes, they make nativities fortunate and glorious, fit for command and royal; likewise also if their lords happen to be in the Ascendant or angular. If the conjunctional or full-moon sign, or their lords, happen to be in the Ascendant or at the Midheaven, natives will be fortunate. If the Sun or the Moon or most of the planets are found in the IC, natives become distinguished and rich, but they end their lives badly or are overturned by envy, accusations, and notoriety.

这些位置既然有力，我也必然把它们附在荣耀而出众的本命之论上。若太阳与月亮在得力的星座，受到大多数东出行星的护卫，又没有任何凶星对冲，就使本命幸运而荣耀，适于统领，有王者之格；同样，若它们的主恰好在上升点或居角，也是如此。若合朔或望月的星座，或它们的主，恰好在上升点或中天，本命者会幸运。若太阳、月亮或大多数行星被发现在天底，本命者会出众而富有，但不得善终，或因嫉妒、控告与恶名而被颠覆。

Wishing to determine the topic of prosperity more clearly, we shall explain it further through many tested procedures. For each kind of configuration is powerful in its own right, but when compared one with another, it has either, being benefited, exalted the glory, or, being afflicted, overthrown it further. Hence we shall append what follows not as undoing the former powers but as confirming them. Just as we said earlier about the Lot, one must also work out the Lot of the Daemon, which is found by day from the Moon to the Sun and by night from the Sun to the Moon, and the equal amount from the Ascendant, and observe its lord and its place, how they are situated; likewise also the Lot of Basis, which is found from Fortune to the Daemon or from the Daemon to Fortune, and the equal amount from the Ascendant. Here, however, you will not go beyond the hebdomadic number, for nights and days alike, but one must take from the nearer lot to the other lot, and compare both the place and the ruler.

我们想更清楚地定下兴旺这个题目，就要借许多经过检验的方法进一步说明。因为每一种格局本身都有力，但相互比较时，它或者得了助益而抬高了荣耀，或者受了损害而进一步把它推翻。所以我们附上下面的内容，不是要取消前面所说的力量，而是要确认它们。正如前面关于福点所说的，也必须算出精灵点，它白天从月亮到太阳求得，夜里从太阳到月亮求得，再从上升点数出相等的数量，并观察它的主与它的位置处在何种情况；同样也要算出基点，它从福点到精灵点、或从精灵点到福点求得，再从上升点数出相等的数量。不过在这里，无论夜里还是白天，你都不要超过七之数，而是必须从较近的那个点取到另一个点，并比较位置与主星。

If, then, the rulers exchange places, for example if the ruler of the Lot of Fortune is in the place of Basis, the ruler of Basis in that of the Daemon, and the ruler of the Daemon in the place of Fortune, such a native is fortunate, royal, and distinguished. If the lord of Basis is in the place of the Daemon while the lord of the Daemon is also present, the native is fortunate and magnanimous. If the lords of the Daemon, of Fortune, and of Basis are in their own places, in this case too the native is fortunate. If the Daemon is found with the Sun and its lord is oriental, such a native will be fortunate; likewise, if Venus is lady of Fortune or of the Daemon or of Basis and is found making her rising and in her own place, such a native is fortunate. If the lord is upon Basis and the Moon is present with it, such a native will be fortunate and distinguished. If the lord is upon the Daemon and the Sun is present with it, the native is fortunate, distinguished, and tyrannical.

所以，若主星互换了位置，例如福点之主在基点的位置，基点之主在精灵点的位置，精灵点之主在福点的位置，这样的本命者幸运，有王者之格，出众。若基点之主在精灵点的位置，而精灵点之主也在那里，本命者幸运而心胸宽大。若精灵点、福点与基点之主都在自己的位置，在这种情形下本命者也幸运。若精灵点被发现与太阳同在，而它的主东出，这样的本命者会幸运；同样，若金星是福点、精灵点或基点的女主人，又被发现正在东升，在自己的位置，这样的本命者幸运。若主星在基点上，又有月亮与它同在，这样的本命者会幸运而出众。若主星在精灵点上，又有太阳与它同在，本命者幸运、出众，有僭主之格。

If Mars, being in the Daemon, is found in the places of the Moon while the Moon is also present, the nativity is fit to rule, fit to command, and glorious; if Mercury, being in the Daemon, is found oriental, receiving testimony from benefics, in the places of the Moon, such a native will prosper from letters and education; having many friends and being widely known, he will be deemed worthy of honours, gifts, and glory, and will be called blessed by many. If Jupiter is lord of the Daemon and is overcome by Mars, such a native will not be unfortunate, but active and glorious; yet, overturned by adversities, he will be brought down or will experience arrest or exile. If the lord is present with the Daemon, oriental, together with the Moon, such a native is fortunate, rich, and generous. If the Sun is upon the Daemon, being of the proper sect, while the ruler is in its own place, the native is glorious, respectable, and has many friends; if of the alien sect, he will prosper later, after the periods of the adversary.

若火星在精灵点，被发现在月亮的位置，而月亮也同在，本命适于统治、适于统领，而荣耀；若水星在精灵点，东出，受吉星的见证，又在月亮的位置，这样的本命者会凭文字与教育而兴旺；他朋友众多、广为人知，会被认为配得荣誉、馈赠与荣耀，被许多人称为有福。若木星是精灵点之主，而被火星压制，这样的本命者不会不幸，而是有作为、荣耀；但被逆境颠覆后，他会被拉下来，或经历被捕或流放。若主星东出，与月亮一同在精灵点，这样的本命者幸运、富有而慷慨。若太阳在精灵点上，属本命那一方，而主星在自己的位置，本命者荣耀、体面、朋友众多；若属异己的一方，他会在对头的时期过后才兴旺。

If the lords of the Daemon and of Fortune are found in the place of Basis while the ruler is also present, the nativity will be brilliant and illustrious. Likewise, if the lord of Basis and that of Fortune are found in the Daemon while the ruler is also present, the nativity is great and fortunate. Those who have the lords of Fortune and of the Daemon oriental, in their own places, and receiving testimony from the Sun and the Moon will become glorious and distinguished, moving close to kings or temples and being deemed worthy of gifts and glory. If Venus, being lady of the Lot or of the Daemon, is found with the Sun and the Moon, and whichever of the other planets is lord of these is not in its own place but has fallen out of the favourable places, such a native has a hard fortune and fails to attain what he undertakes. If some of them are in their own places, natives move among great men or take on offices of trust in royal courts, but in the matter of a wife they are made to grieve, or they are childless. If the lord of Fortune or that of acquisition is not in its own houses or exaltations or triplicities or degrees while angular or additive, they bring nativities down; especially if they are malefics testifying to the places or opposing them; but if benefics are angular, oriental, and additive, they make natives brilliant and illustrious; if in the succedent places, natives rise by their own efforts.

若精灵点与福点之主被发现在基点的位置，而主星也同在，本命会光彩而显赫。同样，若基点之主与福点之主被发现在精灵点上，而主星也同在，本命是大而幸运的。那些福点与精灵点之主都东出、在自己的位置、又受太阳与月亮见证的人，会变得荣耀而出众，出入于君王或神庙近旁，被认为配得馈赠与荣耀。若金星作为福点或精灵点的女主人，被发现与太阳和月亮同在，而做它们之主的其他某颗行星不在自己的位置，却已失位，这样的本命者命途艰难，所图之事难以达成。若它们之中有些在自己的位置，本命者会与大人物交往，或在王宫中接受受托之职，但在妻子之事上会被弄得忧伤，或者无子。若福点之主或获取之主不在自己的庙、旺、三方或度数中，而又居角或增数，它们就使本命跌落；尤其当它们是凶星，为这些位置作见证或对冲它们时；但若吉星居角、东出又增数，就使本命者光彩而显赫；若在续宫，本命者靠自己的努力上升。

If, when the Lot of Fortune, the Daemon, and Basis are well placed, acquisition is afflicted, they diminish the possessions as age advances. If Fortune has fallen out of the favourable places and is afflicted, while acquisition is well placed, natives become better from youth onward. If the lord of Fortune or that of acquisition is on the lower angles or in the succedent places, it confers wealth and glory as age advances. The malefics, when they stand over acquisition or oppose it while the place is not angular, being alien to the nativity and in alien signs and degree, bring about destruction of possessions, even if the Lot of Fortune and its lord are well placed.

若福点、精灵点与基点都位置良好，而获取之位受损，随着年纪增长，它们就会减少财产。若福点已失位又受损，而获取之位位置良好，本命者从青年起就变得更好。若福点之主或获取之主在下方的角或续宫，随着年纪增长，它会赋予财富与荣耀。凶星若压在获取之位上或对冲它，而这个位置不居角，它们又与本命异己，在异己的星座与度数，即使福点及其主位置良好，也会造成财产的毁坏。

When the lord of Fortune and that of acquisition fall in opposition, if they are benefics, they make the possessions illusory, unsound, and precarious; if they are malefics, they cause downfalls. If acquisition comes to be in opposition to the Daemon, they bring downfalls in affairs, diminutions, and damages, unless they have benefics lying upon them. The lord of acquisition, when opposing the acquisition, empties the possessions; if it happens to be a malefic, still worse. The benefics, when subtracting, bring about the same, and besides this they cause downfalls. If acquisition falls in opposition to the rulers, especially when these are malefics and not of the sect, natives come close to downfall. If Mars stands over acquisition or is in opposition to it, natives spend what they have acquired on pleasures and drinking bouts. Likewise, if the lord of acquisition comes to be opposed to it, it makes natives extravagant in their way of life; likewise also if the lord of acquisition itself is subtracting in number, or is not angular, or occupies an alien degree or house.

当福点之主与获取之主彼此对冲时，若它们是吉星，就使财产虚幻、不牢靠、有危险；若是凶星，就造成跌落。若获取之位与精灵点对冲，它们就带来事业上的跌落、减少与损害，除非有吉星压在它们上面。获取之主若对冲获取之位，就把财产掏空；若它恰好是凶星，就更坏。吉星在减数时也造成同样的事，此外还造成跌落。若获取之位与诸主星对冲，尤其当它们是凶星、又不属本命那一方时，本命者就接近跌落。若火星压在获取之位上或与它对冲，本命者会把所获得的花在享乐与酒宴上。同样，若获取之主与它对冲，就使本命者生活奢侈；同样，若获取之主本身在数目上减数，或不居角，或占着异己的度数或庙，也是如此。
