VII. The Place of the God Sun, the Place before the Midheaven, Ninth from the Ascendant: It Has Many Configurations.

第七章　太阳神之位，即中天之前的位置，从上升点起的第九宫：它有许多格局。

If the benefics happen to be in this place and have been allotted the Ascendant or Fortune, the native will be blessed and pious, a prophet of a great god, and he will be listened to like a god. If these are absent and Mercury alone testifies, natives are engaged in oracular pronouncements and expound their skill to crowds, and from middle age they become royal scribes. If the malefics are present and are lords of the places mentioned above, or regard the Lot, the native will be a tyrant of the Ascendant and of Fortune [text uncertain]; he will found cities, but plunder others, and impiously take much from many. If the Daemon or Fortune happens to be in the sign of the Bad Daemon, while the rulers of the Lot or of the Ascendant are in this place, the native will meet with very many evils and with sojourns abroad, and will lose whatever he acquires; or natives become detainees in temples on account of sufferings or pleasures.

吉星若恰好在这个位置，又分得上升点或福点，本命者会蒙福而虔敬，成为一位大神的先知，人们会像听神一样听他。若吉星不在，只有水星作见证，本命者从事神谕的宣示，向群众解说自己的技艺，从中年起成为王室书记。若凶星在此，又是上面所说诸位之主，或照看福点，本命者会成为上升点与福点的僭主〔原文疑有讹误〕；他会建立城市，却劫掠别的城市，不虔敬地从许多人那里夺取许多。若精灵点或福点恰好在恶灵的星座，而福点之主或上升点之主在这个位置，本命者会遭遇极多的恶事与客居异乡，得到什么都会失去；或者本命者因病痛或享乐而成为神庙中的居留者。

VIII. The Eighth Place, of Death: Theories of Every Kind.

第八章　第八宫，死亡之位：各种理论。

The benefics, when present in this place, are inactive and weak and do not distribute their own goods; and if they are also lords of the Ascendant and of the Lot, they are much more inactive still, or even cause reversals. If the malefics are present with them and are lords of the Lot, the natives are wanderers and will lose whatever they may acquire. If the Lot falls in this place while the malefics are present and are rulers of the Lot, the native is needy and unable to clothe himself. If they are also lords of the Ascendant, he will live in disgrace throughout his whole life; and if the ruler of the Lot or of the Hour is also under the beams of the Sun, the native will hold out his hands and beg. If Mercury alone is present in the sign and is lord of intelligence, which is called the Daemon, he makes natives foolish, senseless, impeded in speech, and illiterate; if the ruler of Fortune does so, besides being senseless the native will also be witless and poor, especially if that ruler is under the beams of the Sun. If, when things are so, the malefics are present with them, the native will be speechless and deaf. The Moon alone, when increasing in light, seems to rejoice in this sign; and if Jupiter is in the Good Daemon, the native will be fortunate, resourceful, and blessed with many children; if he is also lord of the Lot of Fortune, wealthy and prosperous; and if Mercury too joins him, natives will be stewards of kings and will rejoice in their children.

吉星在这个位置，无所作为而虚弱，不分配自己的好处；若它们又是上升点与福点之主，就更加无所作为，甚至造成起伏。若凶星与它们同在，又是福点之主，本命者就漂泊不定，得到什么都会失去。若福点落在这个位置，又有凶星同在且做福点的主星，本命者贫乏，连衣服都穿不上。若凶星又是上升点之主，他会一生蒙羞；若福点之主或「时刻」之主又在太阳光下，本命者会伸手乞讨。若只有水星在这个星座，又是心智之主，即所谓精灵点之主，就使本命者愚钝、无知、言语受阻、不识字；若是福点之主这样，本命者除了无知之外，还会愚昧而贫穷，尤其当那颗主星在太阳光下时。在这种情形下若凶星与它们同在，本命者会喑哑而聋。只有月亮在增光时似乎在这个星座里欢喜；若木星在善灵之位，本命者会幸运、善于谋生、多子；若木星又是福点之主，会富有而兴旺；若水星也与他相加，本命者会成为君王的管家，并因子女而喜乐。

IX. The Setting Place.

第九章　下降之位。

The benefics, when present in it and ruling the Ascendant or the Lot, signify good things for natives, such as inheritances and sudden acquisitions of other possessions, and they signify good coming from death. If they are in alien places, natives are less well provided, yet they are not in want. If Mercury alone is present, in his own face, the native will have gains in old age and will be entrusted with cities and the affairs of kings. If malefics are present in this place and are lords of the Lot or of the Ascendant while in their own face, the native will suffer reversals in his livelihood, especially toward old age, yet he will not be in want; for they spend what they procure out of reproaches and evils. If, being in an alien face and contrary to their sect, they rule the lots, the native will pass his old age badly, and some are also in prisons for a time, and in ailments and diseases. If Jupiter regards the place, natives are in temples on account of illness, and they are also troubled by haemorrhoids and suffer some ailment of the genitals or of the fingers. If Mercury together with Mars happens to be in the setting sign, he makes robbers and accomplices to murder; therefore they will later perish by an evil death. The malefics, setting in an alien sign, make natives die violent deaths, but the benefics make them widely experienced and fortunate toward old age.

吉星在其中，又主上升点或福点，预示本命者有好事，比如遗产与其他财物的突然获得，并预示来自死亡的好处。若它们在异己的位置，本命者就不那么富足，但也不至于匮乏。若只有水星在此，且在自己的本面，本命者在老年会有收益，并会被托付城市与君王的事务。若凶星在这个位置，又在自己的本面而做福点或上升点之主，本命者的生计会起伏，尤其到老年时，但不会匮乏；因为他们会把从指摘与恶事中弄来的东西花掉。若它们在异己的本面、又与本命的昼夜之分相反，而主宰诸点，本命者会晚景凄凉，有些人还会坐一段时间的牢，有病痛与疾病。若木星照看这个位置，本命者会因病而居于神庙，也受痔疮之苦，生殖器或手指会有某种病痛。若水星与火星一同恰好在下降的星座，就造就强盗与谋杀的同谋；因此他们以后会死于恶死。凶星在异己的星座下沉，使本命者横死，吉星则使他们阅历广博，到老年时幸运。

X. The Sixth Place, of Mars.

第十章　第六宫，火星之位。

If the benefics happen to be present in this place, the native will lose whatever he acquires, and his property will not remain with him; he will be diminished by losses as he advances in age toward old age. The Sun, when present in this place and lord of the Lot of Fortune or of the Hour, causes the native to be condemned by a great authority. If Mercury, the native will be a wanderer and given to offence, and will flee his own country, barely providing himself a living. If Jupiter is lord of the Lot or of the Ascendant, the native will lose his livelihood in public affairs; if Venus, natives will pay penalties in lawsuits on account of a woman; they also become unattractive, without charm. If Mars, he produces injuries and sufferings in the part of the body belonging to the sign, and he also makes natives naked beggars who end their lives badly. Mercury, as lord of the Lot or of the Hour, makes natives ill-disposed, thieves, slanderers, and slandered among the crowd; if the Moon too is present, the native will be a slave and powerless, unless the remaining factors also stand by the Moon; for when the other planets are well disposed, natives can be free and respectable even though the Moon fares badly.

吉星若恰好在这个位置，本命者得到什么都会失去，财产不会留在他身边；随着年纪渐向老年，他会因损失而减少。太阳在这个位置，又是福点之主或「时刻」之主，使本命者被一个大权威定罪。若是水星，本命者会漂泊不定、容易冒犯人，会逃离自己的祖国，勉强维持生活。若木星是福点之主或上升点之主，本命者会在公共事务中失去生计；若是金星，本命者会因一个女人在诉讼中受罚；他们也变得不讨人喜欢，没有魅力。若是火星，他在该星座所属的身体部位造成伤损与病痛，也使本命者成为赤身的乞丐，不得善终。水星作为福点或「时刻」之主，使本命者心怀恶意、偷窃、诽谤人，也在群众中被人诽谤；若月亮也在，本命者会是奴隶而无能为力，除非其余的因素也扶助月亮；因为当其他行星情况良好时，即使月亮处境不好，本命者也可以是自由而体面的。

XI. The Fifth Place: Many Theories.

第十一章　第五宫：许多理论。

If benefics happen to have obtained the Lot or the Hour, the native will be great, will lead crowds, and will lay down laws. Venus bestows the greatest things when she is lady of the Ascendant or of the Lot; especially when she is in her own face or in her own place she makes natives rich in possessions and honoured. The same holds for all the planets: if they have power over the Hour or Fortune, they will produce good things in keeping with what befits their own nature and with the property of Good Fortune. If Mars is placed as set out above, natives will rule over places of every kind; for they become generals or tyrants and will be lords of life and death not only over the humblest but also over people of note. If Saturn is present in the place, he makes natives rich in possessions, masters of lands and of four-footed beasts, founders of villages and places. If the Sun is present, he makes them friends of grandees, close to kings, chiefs of temples; if Mercury, he gives advancements through speech and makes them deemed worthy of very great wealth. If the Moon, well configured, has been allotted the Lot or the Ascendant and is in the sign together with her ruler, natives become long-lived and grow old in prosperity. The benefics, then, confer great benefit in their transits, while the malefics have no power to harm.

若吉星恰好分得福点或「时刻」，本命者会成为大人物，统领群众，制定法律。金星做上升点或福点之主时赐予最大的好处；尤其当她在自己的本面或在自己的位置时，使本命者产业丰厚、受人尊敬。所有行星也都如此：它们若掌握「时刻」或福点，就会按自己的本性所宜、并按好运的特性，造成好事。若火星像上面所列那样落位，本命者会统治各种地方；因为他们成为将军或僭主，不仅主宰最卑微者的生死，也主宰有名望者的生死。若土星在这个位置，使本命者产业丰厚，成为土地与四足牲畜的主人，建立村庄与地方。若太阳在此，使他们成为权贵的朋友、亲近君王、神庙的首领；若是水星，他凭言辞给予晋升，使他们被认为配得极多的财富。若月亮格局良好，分得福点或上升点，又与她的主星同在这个星座，本命者会长寿，在兴旺中终老。所以吉星在行经时大有助益，而凶星无力伤害。

XII. The Fourth Place, the IC.

第十二章　第四宫，天底。

If the benefics are lords of the Ascendant or of Fortune, or are present there, natives will spend their lives in temples; and if, while ruling, they have also been allotted the archetypal lot and are in the place under the earth, natives will receive oracles from daemons and from apparitions of phantoms. If Mars, having been allotted Fortune or the Ascendant, is present with them, the native will have his livelihood through evil deeds, living in disgrace, and will fall into a crisis after committing crimes together with others, and will die a violent death. It must be observed that this place brings good repute after death and bequests to one's own people; when malefics are in this place, natives leave their property to whomever they wish.

若吉星是上升点或福点之主，或在那里，本命者会在神庙里度过一生；若它们做主星时又分得原型之点，并在地下的位置，本命者会从精灵与幻影的显现中得到神谕。若火星分得福点或上升点而与它们同在，本命者会靠恶行谋生，活在耻辱中，与别人一同犯罪后陷入危难，并会横死。必须注意，这个位置带来身后的好名声，以及留给自家人的遗赠；当凶星在这个位置时，本命者会把财产留给他们想留给的任何人。
