第十章

On Children Hostile to Their Parents.

论与父母为敌的子女

[1] If in the nativity Mars or Saturn has been found in the 7th place from the Ascendant, and the Sun in the 8th place from the Ascendant, either he will be estranged from his father, or they will have grievous quarrels of enmity. And also if Mars has been found in the succedent of the Ascendant, or in the succedent of the Midheaven, this same thing is brought about in like manner. And also if Mars has been found partilely in the Ascendant or in the Midheaven, while the Sun has been placed either in the Descendant or in the lower Midheaven, this same thing is brought about in like manner.

〔一〕倘若本命盘里火星或土星落在从上升点起的第七宫，而太阳在从上升点起的第八宫，他或者会与父亲疏离，或者他们会有严重的仇怨争吵。又倘若火星落在上升点的续宫或中天的续宫，同样会造成这同一件事。又倘若火星精确到度地落在上升点或中天，而太阳落在下降点或天底，同样会造成这同一件事。

[2] But if these configurations of the malefic planets which we have described are with the Moon, quarrels of enmity are stirred up between the mother and the children, especially if Saturn has aspected the Moon so placed. And also whoever in a day nativity has had the Sun in the terms of Mars, but in a night nativity in those of Saturn, and Mars by day, or Saturn by night, has aspected the Sun by a square or an opposite aspect, and no ray of the benefic planets softens all these, the sons will kill their fathers; but if the Moon has been found so, their mothers.

〔二〕但倘若我们所说的凶星的这些格局与月亮相关，母亲与子女之间就会激起仇怨的争吵，尤其是倘若土星照着这样落定的月亮。又无论谁，在白天的本命盘里太阳在火星的界里，在夜间的本命盘里在土星的界里，而白天由火星、夜间由土星以四分或对冲照着太阳，又没有吉星的光线缓和这一切，儿子们会杀死他们的父亲；但倘若月亮这样落定，就是他们的母亲。

[3] If the Sun, placed in the terms or in the houses of the malefic planets, is in the 6th or in the 12th place from the Ascendant, and a malefic planet aspects it, so placed, by a square or an opposite aspect, it will cause the sons to be disinherited by their fathers. But if a benefic planet has aspected the Sun so placed from any side, the severity of the father's punishment is mitigated. But if the Sun has been found in the succedent of the Ascendant or in the 8th place from the Ascendant, he will not indeed be disinherited by his father, but he will cause the father's substance to be squandered in some manner or other.

〔三〕倘若太阳落在凶星的界里或庙里，在从上升点起的第六宫或第十二宫，而一颗凶星以四分或对冲照着这样落定的它，就会使儿子们被父亲剥夺继承权。但倘若一颗吉星从任何一侧照着这样落定的太阳，父亲惩处的严厉就会减轻。但倘若太阳落在上升点的续宫或从上升点起的第八宫，他固然不会被父亲剥夺继承权，却会使父亲的家产以这样那样的方式被挥霍掉。

[4] But if the benefic planets have aspected the Sun placed as we have said, little of the father's resources will perish. The Moon will bring about this same thing with regard to mothers or to maternal patrimonies; and further, if she is so placed in the nativity that she holds either the 15th or the 17th degree in a tropical sign, and the malefic planets aspect her by a square or an opposite aspect, the maternal substance is squandered.

〔四〕但倘若吉星照着如我们所说落定的太阳，父亲的资财只会损失一点。月亮对母亲或母亲的家产也会造成这同一件事；更进一步，倘若她在本命盘里这样落定，以致占住回归星座的第十五度或第十七度，而凶星以四分或对冲照着她，母亲的家产就会被挥霍掉。

[5] But if the benefic planets have aspected the Moon so placed by any aspect, something of the maternal resources is preserved. And also if the Sun and Mars have been together in some angle in a tropical sign, they cause the father's resources to be squandered. But if a benefic planet has aspected these so placed, something of the father's resources is preserved. The Moon, so placed, will bring about this same thing with respect to the mother in the nativity.

〔五〕但倘若吉星以任何相位照着这样落定的月亮，母亲的资财总会保住一些。又倘若太阳与火星同在某个角，在回归星座，它们会使父亲的资财被挥霍掉。但倘若一颗吉星照着这样落定的它们，父亲的资财总会保住一些。这样落定的月亮，在本命盘里对母亲也会造成这同一件事。

On Those Who Are Bereaved by the Death of Their Parents.

论因父母之死而成孤的人

[1] When the 7th place from the Ascendant has been found in a double sign (but to the double signs the sign of Libra is also added), and Venus has been found in any angle whatever, the parents are separated by divorce and the children are left alone. And also if a double sign is likewise in the Descendant, and the Ascendant is in a double sign, while Saturn is placed in some angle, and the Sun and the Moon, placed in the signs of the malefic planets, are set in the places cast down from the Ascendant, both parents will perish by swift deaths.

〔一〕当从上升点起的第七宫落在双体星座（不过天秤座也被加进双体星座之中），而金星落在无论哪一个角，父母会以离婚分开，只剩下子女孤单。又倘若下降点同样是双体星座，上升点也在双体星座，而土星落在某个角，太阳与月亮落在凶星的星座，又落在从上升点算起低陷的宫位，父母两人都会迅速死去。

[2] But if the Sun alone has been placed as we have said, the father alone will perish; but if the Moon, the mother. But these misfortunes are found up to the 15th and 16th year. Within this time the planets, arranged as we have said, announce to us the deaths of the parents. And you will find the time of the deaths when Saturn in its transit has come to these places which we have marked in the preceding demonstration.

〔二〕但倘若只有太阳如我们所说落定，就只有父亲会死；但倘若是月亮，就是母亲。但这些不幸在十五岁、十六岁之前发现。在这段时间之内，如我们所说排列的诸星向我们宣告父母的死亡。而你会求出死亡的时间：当行运中的土星来到我们在前面的论证中标出的这些位置的时候。

[3] And also if the angles are in double signs, and the Sun and the Moon are in the Descendant or in the Midheaven, while the lord of the nativity too is either in the Descendant or in the lower Midheaven, the parents die in the first period of the children's life. If the Midheaven has been found in a masculine sign, the mother of this nativity obtains two husbands, so that the native is born of the second husband; but if in a feminine, he will be born of a second wife, especially if the Midheaven has been found in double or in tropical signs.

〔三〕又倘若诸角都在双体星座，而太阳与月亮在下降点或中天，本命主星也在下降点或天底，父母会在子女人生的第一个时期死去。倘若中天落在阳性星座，这个本命的母亲会得到两个丈夫，以致本人是第二个丈夫所生；但倘若落在阴性星座，他会是第二个妻子所生，尤其是倘若中天落在双体星座或回归星座。

On Those Who Are Adopted.

论被收养的人

[4] But if Venus has been found in Gemini, or in the signs trine to Gemini, or in Pisces, or in Taurus, it will cause them to be adopted. But in Pisces and in Taurus it will do this same thing even if it is not in the angles; in the rest that we have named, however, it will cause them to be adopted only when it has been found in an angle.

〔四〕但倘若金星落在双子，或与双子成三分的星座，或在双鱼，或在金牛，会使他们被收养。不过在双鱼与金牛，即使它不在诸角，也会做这同一件事；但在我们所说的其余星座，只有当它落在某个角时，才会使他们被收养。

On Brothers.

论兄弟

[5] Count from Saturn to Jupiter, and the same amount from the Ascendant, and in whatever sign the last number has come, that sign shows you the number of brothers. If the malefic planets have seen this place, the brothers will perish, or they make them mortal enemies; if the benefics, they are increased.

〔五〕从土星数到木星，再从上升点数出同样多，最后的数落在哪个星座，那个星座就向你显示兄弟的数目。倘若凶星看见这个位置，兄弟们会死去，或者它们使兄弟成为不共戴天的仇敌；倘若是吉星，兄弟就会增多。

[6] And also if Saturn has been found partilely in the Ascendant, and those very degrees are Saturn's, all the brothers will perish within the first years of life. Others count from Mercury to the Sun, and the same amount from the Ascendant, and so define the place of brothers, saying the rest about this place in like manner. This treatment too has the greatest efficacy in predicted outcomes.

〔六〕又倘若土星精确到度地落在上升点，而那些度数本身属于土星，所有的兄弟都会在人生的头几年之内死去。另有些人从水星数到太阳，再从上升点数出同样多，这样界定兄弟之宫，关于这个位置的其余判断也照同样的方法说。这种讲法在预言的结果上也有极大的效力。

On Those Who Marry Very Many Wives.

论娶很多妻子的人

[1] In all nativities, if Saturn has been found with Venus in the same sign, if Saturn has had the greater number of degrees, it decrees one wife; but if Venus has had the greater number of degrees, several wives are decreed. You will find this same thing in the nativities of women as well. Venus placed in the Descendant, that is, in the 7th place from the Ascendant, will give a wife who has been debauched by others, or they will come together without marriage contracts. If [lacuna] Mars has seen, they obtain wives known for adultery. But if Venus, so arranged, has been in Taurus or in Libra, it will give freeborn wives, but in the other signs ignoble ones.

〔一〕在一切本命盘里，倘若土星与金星同在一个星座，倘若土星的度数较多，就判给一个妻子；但倘若金星的度数较多，就判给几个妻子。在女人的本命盘里你也会发现同样的事。落在下降点即从上升点起第七宫的金星，会给一个已被别人玷污的妻子，或者他们会不立婚约而同居。倘若〔此处原文有缺〕火星看见，他们会得到以通奸出名的妻子。但倘若这样排列的金星在金牛或天秤，会给出生而自由的妻子，但在其余星座则给出身卑微的妻子。

On Those Who Obtain Their Sisters or Kinswomen as Wives.

论娶自己的姊妹或亲族之女为妻的人

[2] In a man's nativity count from Saturn to Venus, if it is a day nativity, and the same amount from the Ascendant; in a night nativity the reverse; and this sign, as we have frequently said, shows you the place of the wife. Again, count the place of brothers from Saturn to Jupiter, and the same amount from the Ascendant. If, then, the place of the spouse, partilely so determined, has fallen in the place of brothers computed as we have said, they will obtain their sisters or kinswomen. You will find this likewise in the nativity of women too.

〔二〕在男人的本命盘里，倘若是白天的本命盘，就从土星数到金星，再从上升点数出同样多；夜间的本命盘则反过来；这个星座，正如我们常说的，向你显示妻子之宫。再从土星数到木星求出兄弟之宫，再从上升点数出同样多。所以，倘若这样精确地求得的配偶之宫，落在如我们所说求出的兄弟之宫里，他们会娶自己的姊妹或亲族之女。在女人的本命盘里你也会同样发现。

[3] And also if Venus and the lord of the nativity have been found together in the same sign, it decrees either sisters or kinswomen as wives. And also if the place of the spouse, partilely computed, has been found in the maternal or paternal signs, these too being gathered by a partile method, they will obtain as wives their mothers, or their stepmothers, or their nurses. You will find this likewise in the nativity of women too, especially if Mars, Venus, or Mercury has aspected these same places.

〔三〕又倘若金星与本命主星同在一个星座，就判给姊妹或亲族之女为妻。又倘若精确地求出的配偶之宫，落在母亲的或父亲的星座里，这些也是以精确的方法求得的，他们会娶自己的母亲、继母或乳母为妻。在女人的本命盘里你也会同样发现，尤其是倘若火星、金星或水星照着这些位置。

On Incestuous Marriages.

[1] Since we have begun to speak of incestuous marriages, let these now be treated, the rest being passed over. If in the nativity Saturn has been found in a sign of Jupiter or in the terms of Jupiter, while Jupiter and Venus are in those of Saturn, and Mars and the Moon have aspected these so placed by a square aspect, they will have intercourse either with their mothers or with their stepmothers. But if Mercury has been added to these, they will have intercourse either with sons, or with daughters, or with stepchildren.

〔一〕既然我们已开始谈乱伦的婚配，就把其余的略过，现在来讨论这些。倘若本命盘里土星落在木星的星座或木星的界里，而木星与金星在土星的星座或界里，火星与月亮又以四分照着这样落定的它们，他们会与母亲或继母交合。但倘若再加上水星，他们会与儿子、女儿或继子女交合。

[2] And also if the Moon has been found with Jupiter, Saturn, and Mars in a house of Saturn, they will secretly have intercourse either with the mother, or with the stepmother, or with the father. But if all these have been found, as we have said, in the 6th place from the Ascendant, after the death of the father he will obtain his mother as wife, or, after the death of the mother, the daughter will do this same thing with the father. But if Mercury has been found with these, women obtain their sons, and men their daughters, as spouses.

〔二〕又倘若月亮与木星、土星和火星同在土星的一个庙里，他们会暗中与母亲、继母或父亲交合。但倘若这一切如我们所说都落在从上升点起的第六宫，他会在父亲死后娶自己的母亲为妻，或者在母亲死后，女儿与父亲做这同一件事。但倘若水星与它们同在，女人会以自己的儿子为配偶，男人会以自己的女儿为配偶。

[3] And also if the Moon, placed in the last degrees of Cancer, is moving toward Jupiter, or if she is in a house of Saturn, while Venus is likewise found in a house of Saturn and Saturn in a house of Venus, this same thing is brought about in like manner.

〔三〕又倘若月亮落在巨蟹的最后几度，正趋向木星，或者她在土星的一个庙里，而金星同样在土星的一个庙里、土星在金星的一个庙里，同样会造成这同一件事。

On Those Who Obtain Very Many Wives.

论娶很多妻子的人

[4] In all nativities, if Venus has been found in double or in tropical signs, and the lords of the signs in which Venus is placed have likewise been found in double or in tropical signs, they decree very many wives for men and very many husbands for women. But if the Moon likewise aspects Venus placed neither in tropical nor in double signs, one wife is decreed for a man and one husband for a woman. But if Venus, placed in tropical or in double signs, has seen the Moon, it decrees very many wives for men and very many husbands for women.

〔四〕在一切本命盘里，倘若金星落在双体星座或回归星座，而金星所在星座的主星同样落在双体星座或回归星座，就给男人判定很多妻子，给女人判定很多丈夫。但倘若月亮同样照着既不在回归星座也不在双体星座的金星，就给男人判定一个妻子，给女人判定一个丈夫。但倘若落在回归星座或双体星座的金星看见月亮，就给男人判定很多妻子，给女人判定很多丈夫。
