On the Number of Masters: How You May Find How Many Masters a Slave Will Have.
[1] If the Moon has been found in the 2nd, or the 5th, or the 8th, or the 11th place from the Ascendant, in a masculine sign, while the lord of the Moon's sign has been found either in its depression or in the cast-down places, and the Moon, having become superior, aspects Mars by a square aspect, because Mars is placed in the 4th sign from the Moon, he who is so born will serve four masters. But if another planet has been found in between the Moon and Mars, one more master will be added to the preceding number.
[2] And also, in a day nativity, however many signs the Sun has receded from Mars, being cast down either by sign or by place, it will give that many masters. But in a night nativity, however many signs the cast-down Moon is distant from Mars or from Saturn, counting from it up to the last [lacuna], you will find that many masters; double signs you count as two masters.
[3] If in a servile nativity the Sun and the Moon have been cast down, while the lords of the signs in which the Sun and the Moon are placed are set in the angles of the nativity, or in signs foreign to them, or in their depressions, they will become slaves of powerful masters. But if Jupiter has aspected with a favorable aspect those whom we said were placed in the angles, having obtained freedom, they will obtain the greatest insignia of glory.
[4] If the Sun and the Moon are either in the succedent of the Ascendant, or in the 6th place from the Ascendant, or in the 8th, or in the 12th, whether together or separately, and are placed in their falls, and have malefic planets in the preceding degrees of the same sign, they will make slaves feeble and blind, who, cast down in public places, sustain their life by begging.

How You May Find Whether the Parents Are Slaves.
[1] When Jupiter and Saturn have been placed together in the lower Midheaven, and the Sun is in the 6th place from the Ascendant, say that the father was a slave. And also if Venus has been found in the lower Midheaven, and the Sun is placed with Mars in the 3rd place from the Ascendant, it likewise shows the father a slave. And also if the Sun has been found in a house of Saturn, and Saturn in the 6th place from the Ascendant, it shows the father a slave.
[2] If the Moon has been found with Mars in equal degrees in signs foreign to them, in the Ascendant, it will without doubt make the mother a slave woman. And also if the lord of the sign in which the Moon has been found is either in its depression or in the cast-down places, it shows in like manner that the mother is a slave woman. And also if the Moon, diminished in light, has been found with Mars in the Ascendant, and Saturn is in the succedent of the Ascendant, it will make the mother a slave woman.
[3] And also if the Moon has been found in the lower Midheaven diminished in light, and is joined in the same sign with a malefic planet, it will make the mother a slave woman. And also if the Moon has been placed in the lower Midheaven, and the lord of that place is found in the 6th place from the Ascendant, it shows the mother a slave woman.
[4] If you have seen the Sun and Jupiter in the cast-down places, either together or divided, so that one is in the 12th place from the Ascendant and the other in the 6th, say that the father was a slave. And also if you have seen the Moon in like manner with Venus in the cast-down places, either placed together or divided, or one is in the 6th place from the Ascendant and the other in the 12th, say that the mother is a slave woman.
[5] If the Moon and Venus have been found in the Descendant, that is, in the 7th place from the Ascendant, namely in a tropical sign, and one malefic planet is in the 6th place from the Ascendant and the other in the 8th, and Jupiter is neither in the first angles nor aspects the first angles by a trine aspect, it shows the mothers slave women, and such as are entrusted with the keeping of doors.
[6] If the Sun and the Moon have been found in the 6th place from the Ascendant, and the lord of the sign is placed together with them in that same place, the parents of these are weighed down by the burden of slavery and unhappiness. But if the benefic planets have been found in the angles, some good fortune will afterwards be conferred on the parents.

[10] If the Sun and the Moon are not in the cast-down places, but Saturn or Mars is placed partilely in some angle, while the other of them is placed in the succedents or in the epicataphoras, and both, that is, Saturn and Mars, aspect the Sun and the Moon by any aspect whatever, they make captives.
[11] But if a benefic planet, placed either in the angles or in the succedents of the angles, aspects all these so placed with a favorable aspect, they are freed from captivity by favorable protection. But if several benefic planets, placed also in the upper places, have received the conjunction of the waxing Moon, the rest being placed as we have said, they will be freed when they have come to the very perils of captivity.
