The Moon from Mercury to Saturn.
[1] If the Moon, flowing away from Mercury, full of light, is moving toward Saturn, and the nativity is by day, it always makes men either stammerers or deaf, or their words will be impeded by a slow sound of the voice. They will have activities either in accounts, or in teaching, or in trade, or in journeys abroad, or in the interpretation of words, and they always penetrate heavenly secrets; others undertake the care and guardianship of waters or of the prison guards, so that from these activities the supports of life are sought for them.
[2] But if by night the Moon, flowing away from Mercury, full of light, is moving toward Saturn, it will make them always worn down by continual labors connected with water, workmen given over to everlasting labors, men accustomed to hire out their bodies for some work, porters seeking their support with their shoulders and backs. Some it places in custody, others it thrusts into prison, others it sets before public courts; others it will cause to be condemned, others, oppressed by the squalor of prison and of public custody, long-haired and disfigured with filth, to perish, especially if this conjunction takes place in the signs of the malefic stars.
[3] But if the Moon, flowing away from Mercury, diminished in light, is moving toward Saturn, it will make beggars, poor men, covered with rags and sunk in the calamity of wretched want; some it causes to serve in temples, others it compels to prophesy. Very often it makes them lunatic or decrees the defects of the sacred disease; it makes them epileptic and demented by wretched agitation.
[4] But if by night the Moon, flowing away from Mercury, diminished in light, is moving toward Saturn, it either causes them to be exposed, or imposes the squalor of wretched slavery, or decrees the burden of bitter captivity; it also decrees the greatest illnesses or defects, or destroys them in the first period of life, or causes them to be condemned on some account; and if none of these things happens, it makes them die a violent death.

The Moon from Mercury to Jupiter.
[5] If the Moon, flowing away from Mercury, is moving toward Jupiter, it will make great and powerful men, to whom the letters and secrets of emperors are entrusted, or who guard royal wealth and royal treasures with faithful protection, and who have the power of commanding or arranging in the royal household; very often it makes masters of offices and messengers of kings, and it also makes temple-wardens or prophets or chief priests, so that from these honors or on these occasions the greatest insignia of good fortune are conferred on them, and from these activities they acquire increases of powerful riches.
[6] But if the Moon, flowing away from Mercury, diminished in light, is moving toward Jupiter, it either sets them over accounts, or makes them overseers of money-lending businesses, or makes agents and men to whom public or fiscal documents are entrusted, or causes them to be set over the public or fiscal weights, or makes judges of private lawsuits, and from these activities it decrees the greatest increases of means, and also grants the insignia of good fortune; to some it decrees inheritances, others it compels to find deposited and hidden things, and with others things entrusted remain and continue with them without the vice of fraud, so that from these things glory and substance and great good fortune are procured for them.

The Moon from Mercury to Mars.
[7] If the Moon, flowing away from Mercury, is moving toward Mars in a day nativity, and the Moon is waxing or full of light, it will make men irreligious, perjured, deceitful, whose malice for every crime grows day by day. They will be housebreakers, thieves, men who always plunder temples with sacrilegious fury; they will be brigands, murderers, always armed for the slaughter of men; but caught in these crimes they are handed over to the chains of custody and to prison and are punished with the sword by the severe chastisement of the judge, or for these crimes they perish by a violent death of some kind.
[8] But if the nativity is by night, and the Moon, flowing away from Mercury, full or waxing, is moving toward Mars, it makes generals and military tribunes, but terrible ones, raised up with tyrannical powers, or defenders or governors of cities, but such as never continue in the licence of these powers and who always give offence in various ways; of these some are put to flight, others are sent into exile, others die a violent death, especially if Mars and the Moon are found in the principal places of the nativity.
[9] But if in the cast-down places of the nativity the Moon, flowing away from Mercury in night nativities, full of light, is moving toward Mars, it decrees the deeds of parricidal crimes. For either they destroy their own sons with the frenzy of parricidal fury, or the fury of a perverse desire drives them to the murder of their brothers, or parricidal destruction is brought upon their parents through them, or they cut the throats of their kinsmen by marriage, or, their conjugal affection turned away, they pollute the marriage bed with the blood of a butchered wife, so that in every way, by various promptings of fury, they rage with parricidal madness; but these things are decreed according to the variety of places and signs. Their death will always be violent or public; for on account of slaves, or on account of persons put into custody, or on account of condemned men, a grave peril of dangers is brought upon them, and on this account, condemned, they perish by a public death.

[10] But if, diminished in light, in a day nativity, flowing away from Mercury, it is moving toward Mars, it will make forgers, evildoers, and housebreakers, thieves or accomplices and harborers of brigands; for these crimes they are either placed in custody or condemned by severe chastisement. Others become public executioners, to whom the duties of public punishments are entrusted, or they become clerks of personal suits, or men who carry out the duties of [lacuna], or they become assistants of men of this kind, and from this conjunction they become guards of the condemned or of the public prison.
[11] But if the Moon, flowing away from Mercury, diminished in light, is moving toward Mars in a night nativity, it makes soldiers or keepers of arms or athletes, or will destine them for certain contests, effective, terrible, famous men, whose service comes to the notice of all [text uncertain].
[12] But if this conjunction takes place with Mars or the Moon placed in the Ascendant or in the fifth place from the Ascendant, it causes them to be extinguished by some violent kind of death. For in the other places of the nativity it decrees defects, illnesses, dangers, toilsome activities, continual watches, or certain violent businesses. But all these things, as we have frequently said, vary according to the diversity of the signs.

[13] For if, with Mars placed in wandering or in tropical signs, the Moon, flowing away from the Sun or from Mercury and placed in the signs of the malefic stars, is moving toward Mars by opposition or square, or if it has joined itself to it in a nearby or partile association, it will make furriers, tanners, bootmakers, cooks, coppersmiths, men who carry out their arts and occupations with fire or with iron. But if this conjunction is in the signs of Venus, it will make linen-weavers, dyers, modellers, or shopkeepers. But if this conjunction is in a house of Mercury or of Mars, it makes lovers of arms or of the wrestling-ground, and men who handle the duties of public business. But if this conjunction is in a house of Jupiter, it makes tribunes, generals, and commanders of great legions, or governors of cities or provinces.
[14] But if this conjunction is in a house of Saturn, it decrees grievous, wretched, and wicked occupations; for it will make torturers or executioners or informers or hunters of wild beasts, and Marsians, the kind who are accustomed to hunt asps; it will make masters of wild herds or beasts, some fishermen, others fowlers; others it compels to draw water from the deepest wells with continual toil, others it will make laborers on country estates or in gardens, others shipmasters, sailors, or pilots, others builders, others stonecutters, others it makes preparers of corpses or men who always handle the duties of burial through their own hands. For in conjunction with Mars the decrees vary in manifold ways [text uncertain].

[15] If the Moon, flowing away from Mercury, is moving toward the Sun, it makes men either deranged in mind, or impeded in speech, or deaf, or poor and weighed down by the wretched squalor of want, wandering and always abroad, men who nowhere establish a seat or a dwelling; but these misfortunes are tempered with the passing of time, and when the time of youth is over, small supports of life are sought for them from various activities.

[18] But if, diminished in light, in a night nativity, the Moon, flowing away from Mercury, is moving toward Venus, it makes men rich, powerful, commanding, great, to whom the guardianship of regions or of the greatest cities is entrusted, especially if the Moon, freed from the rays of the Sun, is found in the sign of the Ascendant, and also if Venus, in like manner freed from the rays of the Sun, has received the course of the approaching Moon in the places we have mentioned. But if this conjunction is in the other places of the nativity, it will make honorable men, engaged in many businesses, and they seek for themselves the substance of a patrimony by their own strength.
[19] But if by day, diminished in light, it is moving toward Venus, and this conjunction is in the Midheaven or in the tenth place from the Ascendant, it grants the palms and crowns of the sacred contest, or causes them to be set over sacred contests, or makes builders of temples or consecrators of images, or at any rate temple-wardens, or chief priests, or men who handle great offices in temples.
