第三十八章　另一法：论婚姻，附一例。

For men, from the Sun to Venus, and for women from the Moon to Mars, and the equal amount from the Ascendant; for Venus and Mars are the corrupters of the two luminaries, because the Sun, exalted in Aries, is corrupted in Libra and brings about the diminution of the day, while the Moon, exalted in Taurus, is depressed in Scorpio and brings about, in the cosmic order, the taking away of her light. Venus, then, will in general be the marriage-maker of men, and Mars of women; hence for men the place of marriage must be in harmony with the Daemon, and for women with the Lot of Fortune, because of the mutual bond and the coming together of the Sun and the Moon; for in this way a marriage will be judged sympathetic or unlawful. If, then, many planets are upon the marriage-making place or testify to it, there will be many marriages; and if the planets are entwined with the Moon while Jupiter testifies, natives will come together by law; if Saturn, they will be separated by death; if Mercury, without Jupiter, they will be reproached on account of slave women. If Jupiter testifies to Saturn, a lawful marriage will be proclaimed, or they will even ennoble some persons; if the planets are somehow entwined with Venus or have a relation to her, the marriage will come from familiarity; and if Jupiter testifies, the marriage will be both lawful, beneficial, and sympathetic; but if, while Jupiter is absent, Saturn, Mercury, and Mars testify, natives will come together with common women and women without children, or with disgraceful and maimed women. If the Moon is added to Venus, the harlot-like and the lecherous will follow, jealousies and quarrels will arise, and the partnership will be full of pretence. If the Sun is lord of the marriage-maker and is well configured, while Jupiter is entwined with the Moon, natives will come together lawfully and the marriage will be secure or glorious. If the Moon is somehow regarded by Saturn, the marriage will come out of orphanhood or through guardians; if Venus and Mars happen to be together, or are entwined with the Moon, natives will come together with women who have been previously ill-treated, or out of familiarity. If the Moon or Venus is somehow configured with Jupiter or the Sun while the rest are absent, natives marry only once.

男人从太阳数到金星，女人从月亮数到火星，再从上升点数出相等的数量；因为金星与火星是两光的败坏者：太阳在白羊入旺，在天秤受败坏，造成白昼的减短；月亮在金牛入旺，在天蝎落陷，在宇宙的次序中造成光的失去。所以总的说，金星将是男人的主婚者，火星是女人的主婚者；因此，对男人来说，婚姻之位必须与精灵点和谐，对女人来说则与福点和谐，这是由于太阳与月亮的相互连结与会合；因为这样就能判断婚姻是相感的还是不合法的。若有许多行星压在主婚的位置上或为它作见证，就会多次婚姻；若诸星与月亮交缠而木星作见证，本命者会依法结合；若是土星，他们会因死亡而分离；若是水星而没有木星，他们会因女奴而受责难。若木星为土星作见证，就会公开一桩合法的婚姻，或者他们甚至会使某些人显贵；若诸星以某种方式与金星交缠或与她有关联，婚姻会出自熟识；若木星作见证，婚姻就既合法、有益又相感；但若木星不在而土星、水星、火星作见证，本命者会与公共的女人、无子女的女人，或可耻与残缺的女人结合。若月亮加到金星上，随之而来的是娼妓般的与淫荡的事，会生出嫉妒与争吵，结伴生活充满伪装。若太阳是主婚者之主，格局良好，而木星与月亮交缠，本命者会依法结合，婚姻稳固或荣耀。若月亮以某种方式被土星照看，婚姻会出自孤儿的处境或经由监护人；若金星与火星恰好同在，或与月亮交缠，本命者会与先前受过虐待的女人结合，或出自熟识。若月亮或金星以某种方式与木星或太阳成格局，而其余诸星都不在，本命者只结一次婚。

For both men and women, then, one will have to examine the Lot of Fortune and the Daemon, and their squares and oppositions, as well as the rulers and the lord, and whether they are benefics or malefics. If they are configured while belonging to the sect, the marriage will be good and sympathetic; but if the places or the lords oppose one another or are viewed by malefics, there will be adversities, quarrels, jealousies, enmities, and lawsuits concerning the partnership, and sometimes natives are punished, enduring compulsion as well. If, while these are configured in fitting positions, Saturn testifies, the separation will be by death; if Mercury happens to be lord of the Daemon and the Moon of the marriage-maker, and they are present together or testify to each other, such a native will come together with mistresses, or with women superior in livelihood or in family. If somehow Jupiter testifies as well, the union will be beneficial and sympathetic; but if Saturn or Mars, there will be disturbances, envies, or separations, and harmful ailments will follow. If somehow Jupiter is ruler and is configured with the Moon while Saturn testifies, the native will come together with his mother or stepmother; and if the Moon also has no relation to the Lot of the Mother, he will come together with older women. If Jupiter is ruler of the Daemon and Venus of the marriage-maker, natives come together with sisters or kinswomen; and if Saturn testifies, what happens will be in secret; but if Mercury or Mars, there will be separations or public exposures. If, when Saturn is absent, the Sun testifies, the marriage will come about by law and friendship and will be sympathetic and beneficial; and if the Sun is ruler and the Moon is lady of the marriage-maker and is configured with the Sun while Jupiter testifies, the marriage will be sympathetic, of equal honour, lawful, glorious, and brilliant. If, while the Sun is ruler, Venus is lady of the marriage-maker and Saturn testifies, the native will be reproached on account of a daughter. If the marriage-maker belongs to Saturn and he himself, or Mars, is lord of the Daemon, natives will remain unmarried. If Saturn is ruler of the Daemon, and Venus obtains the place of marriage and is found with Mercury receiving testimony from Mars, the native will come together with a barren or blameworthy woman. Natives come together with foreign women or women of another race, or contract their marriage abroad, when the marriage-maker happens to be away from the angles or turned away from the Daemon; of what sort these women are, the nature of the signs and planets will show.

所以，对男人与女人都必须查看福点与精灵点，以及它们的四分与对冲之处，还有它们的主星与主，以及这些是吉星还是凶星。若它们属于本方而成格局，婚姻就美好而相感；但若这些位置或它们的主彼此对冲，或被凶星观照，结伴生活中就会有逆境、争吵、嫉妒、敌意与诉讼，有时本命者还会受惩罚，也忍受强制。若在这些格局相宜时土星作见证，分离将因死亡；若水星恰好是精灵点之主，而月亮是主婚者之主，它们同在或彼此作见证，这样的本命者会与女主人，或在生计或家世上较高的女人结合。若木星以某种方式也作见证，结合就有益而相感；若是土星或火星，就会有纷扰、嫉妒或分离，并随之有为害的病患。若木星以某种方式是主星，与月亮成格局，而土星作见证，本命者会与他的母亲或继母结合；若月亮也与母亲之点没有关联，他会与年长的女人结合。若木星是精灵点之主，金星是主婚者之主，本命者与姐妹或女亲属结合；若土星作见证，所发生的会是秘密的；若是水星或火星，就会有分离或当众出丑。若土星不在而太阳作见证，婚姻会按法律与友爱而成，相感而有益；若太阳是主星，月亮是主婚者的女主人，与太阳成格局，又有木星作见证，婚姻会相感、地位相当、合法、荣耀而光彩。若太阳是主星，金星是主婚者的女主人，而土星作见证，本命者会因一个女儿而受责难。若主婚者属于土星，而他自己或火星是精灵点之主，本命者会终身不婚。若土星是精灵点之主，金星得到婚姻之位，被发现与水星同在而受火星见证，本命者会与不育或受人非议的女人结合。当主婚者恰好离开四角，或与精灵点背离时，本命者会与外邦女人或异族女人结合，或在异乡缔结婚姻；这些女人是什么样的，星座与行星的本性会显示。

Likewise also for women one will have to examine the Lot of Fortune and the marriage-maker, from the Moon to Mars, and compare these. For if somehow the Moon is lady of the Lot, and Mercury lord of the marriage-maker, and he is present with the Moon or testifies to her, she will come together with a slave or a freedman; if somehow Jupiter also testifies, it will be lawful; and if, these things being so, Jupiter holds the place of children and Saturn testifies as well, she will come together with her child, or with a younger man who holds the rank of a child. If the place of children belongs to Saturn and the Moon herself comes together with Saturn, they will remain unmarried. If the Moon is ruler and Saturn is the marriage-maker and is present with the Moon or testifies to her, she will come together with a husband but will hate him and pass her life unsettled. If the Moon is lady of the Lot and Mars lord of the marriage-maker, and they testify to each other, the marriage will be insecure, or will come through abduction, or war and captivity; and if Jupiter testifies, it will later also become lawful. If Mars happens to be opposite the Moon, receiving testimony from Saturn and the Sun, the husband will be accused and will be effeminate. If somehow, in female nativities, Venus is lady of the Lot, and the Sun is present with her, having been allotted the marriage-maker and the Lot of the Father, while Saturn testifies, she will come together with fathers. If the Sun is lord of the paternal place, she will come together with an older man who holds the rank of a father. If Venus is ruler and Mercury has the place of marriage, while Saturn testifies to these, women become common to many or will stand in brothels. And if Jupiter testifies, they will acquire possessions and become well loved; but if Jupiter is absent, they will live shamefully and wretchedly. If Venus is found in Pisces or Capricorn while the configuration is of this kind, they will also commit shameful acts. If Mars is allotted the Daemon and the Moon the marriage-maker, the marriage will be by abduction; and if he is found in opposition, receiving testimony from Saturn or the Sun, the man will be accused and convicted. If Venus is lady of the marriage-maker and Mars lord of the Lot of Fortune, the marriage comes from familiarity. If Saturn and Mercury also testify while Jupiter is absent, it will be judged adultery. The remaining configurations too, as many as have been stated for men, must be observed for women as well; for even if they seem to have been arranged in a varied way, they will nevertheless become clearer to readers.

同样，对女人也必须查看福点与从月亮数到火星的主婚者，并加以比较。因为若月亮以某种方式是福点的女主人，水星是主婚者之主，又与月亮同在或为她作见证，她会与奴隶或被释奴结合；若木星以某种方式也作见证，婚姻就合法；若在这种情形下，木星占有子女之位，土星也一同作见证，她会与自己的孩子，或与一位居于孩子地位的较年轻男人结合。若子女之位属于土星，而月亮本身与土星会合，她们会终身不婚。若月亮是主星，土星是主婚者，又与月亮同在或为她作见证，她会与一个丈夫结合，却会憎恨他，一生动荡不定。若月亮是福点的女主人，火星是主婚者之主，而它们彼此作见证，婚姻会不稳固，或经由劫夺，或经由战争与俘虏；若木星作见证，后来也会变得合法。若火星恰好与月亮对冲，受土星与太阳的见证，丈夫会被控告，并且柔弱如女子。若在女性本命中，金星以某种方式是福点的女主人，而太阳与她同在，又分得主婚者与父亲之点，又有土星作见证，她会与父辈结合。若太阳是父亲之位的主，她会与一位居于父亲地位的年长男人结合。若金星是主星，水星占有婚姻之位，而土星为它们作见证，这些女人会与许多人共处，或站在妓院里。若木星作见证，她们会得到产业，并很受人喜爱；但若木星不在，她们会过得可耻而困苦。若在这种格局下金星被发现在双鱼或摩羯，她们还会行可耻之事。若火星分得精灵点，月亮分得主婚者，婚姻就是经由劫夺；若他被发现在对冲之处，受土星或太阳的见证，男人会被控告而定罪。若金星是主婚者的女主人，火星是福点之主，婚姻出自熟识。若土星与水星也作见证而木星不在，就会被判为通奸。其余的格局，凡对男人说过的，对女人也必须遵守；因为即使它们看来排列得多变，对读者却会变得更清楚。
